- This time I’m showing you how I added LED headlights to a die cast car.
The car is a Kinsmart 1:40 scale 1957 Chevy Belair, available online and through many different retailers costing $5-$10 depending on where you can find one.
The lights are 12v LED soft white purchased through Amazon, 20 for $9.99
Search - LED 12v prewired mini lights. You’ll find a wire variety to choose from.
Sorry about the error in the title, I didn’t notice it until after I had already posted the video
I searched this up to apply LEDs to my 1958 Plymouth fury and this comes up, and your using quite a similar car 😂.
Looks awesome!
Thanks
Nice job! Thanks for the tip!
Nice video.
I have a 1:43 scale K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider with a painted on red scanner light. Any ideas on how I could wire it with some red leds so that the scanner light would not only light up but also go side to side?
Evan’s designs sells a kit to do that.

Thanks. I'll check them out.
Awesome 👍😎
Thank for the tip thank for sharing
Thanks for watching
What a great idea to easily add lights!
I have a question though. Where did you get the ocean and sky back drop i see behind you on your layout?
Hobby Lobby. 12ft roll for about $8 if I remember correctly.
Sir - you're fast-forwarding through the things us people who have no idea what we're doing need to know. Can you slow it down a bit? I'm trying to install blue/red flashers on a 1:18 Mad Max Pursuit and need to know more details.
I made this video a long time ago, maybe I can answer your questions

This guy does much better work than me

Sorry. It would have been nice if you showed how you attached the lights to the car.😢
I drilled a small hole through the headlight housing and ran the light from the backside in and added a drop of superglue to hold it in, pretty simple.
Great job for a first effort! I've been lighting those things for about ten years but I take it to extremes. Mine always get both head and tail lights. And I've moved on to some very complex ones. Here's my most recent tutorial on a complicated job. I've actually done two of these trucks, both of which sold quickly! Here's a link to the video: ua-cam.com/video/yILZDQyGWpg/v-deo.html
You can get a pack of 100 of red, green, blue, white, yellow off of Temu for like $10 and they even sent me an extra 100 idk if it was a gift or on accident but I got 200 for $10😁
To be honest, I’m a little apprehensive about ordering from them. Their terms of service are pretty invasive. You should read them sometime.
I’ve also heard a lot of mixed reviews
