I remember him explaining why such a thing wasn't possible, mostly the batteries. He tried anyway, using capacitors instead of batteries. It didn't work well. Now, hobbyists can do what was impossible for even large toy manufacturers just a few decades ago. Lipo batteries and microcontrollers have enabled some pretty awesome things!

But when I saw him HAND SOLDER that IC with steady hands at that scale, I was blow away. You sir, are a true craftsman and engineer, be proud of that.

5:54 you make it look so simple. A bit of glue and then with you fingers you precisely place the two bases together. 5mn later top of car fits exactly. Amazing. If I attempted the same the length would be off by 1mm and the bases would be at an angle. Useless. Please tell us that before glue dry you have to measure and align everything. I am very impressed with your precision skills.
this is one of those diy projects that probably out of the entire 8.7 million people watching, only 1 person is actually going to do it. It's pretty impressive but this is like Expert+++ kinda stuff.
Brilliantly done as always, but the music you chose is absolutely torture after 8min or so. Would much rather you include the raw/ambient audio from all these different clips instead, assuming the camera that recorded them also has a mic. Anyway just IMO, great job on this project!

Pulled it apart out of curiosity, and while I was only about 7, so my sense of scale might be a bit off - I am.90% certain that the finished car in this video, is smaller that one of the through-hole capacitors in my childhood RC car.

Probably by directly attaching some wires to the battery and manually charging. It's not really intended to be a practical design.
