I missed the hand-to-hand combat in the original. If there's a possibility you can run out of ammo and softlock yourself at a segment because it requires you to use guns, then this mechanic is much appreciated. As of writing this comment I remembered it was originally in the game but it was so slow, ineffective and generally awfully implemented that I forgot it even existed. Your implementation seems and feels to be much more fun to use with sped up animations and gives way more control in player's hands over what's happening to the character. The project is coming a long way it seems, keep up the good work as I'm waiting impatiently for then next devlog.

Hey in the finished game, could you change the progression of outfits to make more sense? In the original, lara's outfit switched with very little explanation or logic (demin to camo in sewers WTF, vest magically appears and disappears when it pleases, pants magically shrink into shorts sometime inside strahov) I would be great if ther was a cutscene of her demin jacket burning off after leaving renne's pawnshop as well as putting on the camo vest outfit, and have her consistently wear the vest up until she gets to prague. There, have her wear a new outfit, a full jacket with a fur collar, and have her take it off once she is inside strahov, leaving her with the vestless camo pants design until she reaches the vault of trophies. When she swaps back from the swimsuit, she decides to put on the iconic shorts instead of her long pants, which makes sense, since shes still kind of wet, and longer pants would cling and bunch up against wet skin. I also have 3 requests for the gameplay of this mod. In an interview, a dev said that it was intended that players would get different physical upgrades depending on how they went through the early levels, and this would make them have to solve puzzles later in the game differently depending on how they built lara's strength. Could this design philosophy be fully integrated into your mod? Lastly, could you add arkham knight style counters to hand to hand combat, as well as a system of picking up disposable weapons like bats, champagne bottles, and folding chairs that aren't added to the inventory like in the yakuza games (Punch button swings, kick button throws)? Doing this alongside making guns more powerful, but further limiting their ammo would make combat a lot more interesting, as there is a risk/reward to choosing whether to risk taking damage by getting up close with hand to hand combat, or consume precious ammo to dispatch enemies at a distance. It would actually be a meaningful choice since you are making hand to hand viable. The counters make sense with croft's agility, and the weaponry and limited ammunition seem very in line with the developer's intentions of making the player feel like they are just barely scraping by as a fugitive, doing whatever they can with the hand they're given. Above all, thank you for the hard work. You are doing god's work, man

That would be GREAT, especially if you'd improve mechanics (combat, invectory, actions, secrets, ...), graphics and interfaces, camera, animations, dialogues, locations, et cetera... And if adding some new stuff, both featured from the next episodes until the most recent ones, and totally innovative and interesting elements. I have many suggestions I'd like to give, if you're really working on something based on this episode (one of my favourite under many aspects, including its OST and thriller atmosphere). EXAMPLES: Making Lara learn new moves as the game progresses, while for hand-to-hand combat she might train in her gym at the Croft Manor or in a ring, like the one seen in Paris with Zak and Carl. The gameplay could be a mixture of adventure, action, RPG, thriller, stealth, fighting, puzzle and some other types. For health recovery, you could add some more food too, or use it to replenish stamina. Possibly, this game could be a hybrid of TAOD, TR:U and the last 3 reboot episodes (or even Resident Evil and MGS), plus additional contents and enhancements overall. More realistic weaponry and equipment too, both single and double handed, with her USPs Match returning as well, but also M4A1, G36C or K from movies, SCAR-H, AK, MP5, Micro Uzis, SPAS-12 or other Shotgun, Deagles, Grenade Launcher and Hand Grenades, Explosive Charge, Crossbow, Tazer Gun and many more. What about NVG and Thermal Vision? Mine Detector, Binocular, Magnetic Grapple, Smartphone or (Mini) Tablet, ...? Money can be collected, gained through various tasks and used to buy from stores or NPCs. Many new moves Lara could perform in all circumstances (floor, underwater, hanging, ...). Intel gathering from people around, diaries, books, sheets, data storage drives, screens, writings on walls, ... . Limited invectory space, augmentable thanks to tactical pouches or bags?
This coud be the next gen in TRLE but you need to make this open source. It is your work and call but think what can be done by others :) Awesome work on the project btw :)
I'd add that I'm a proficient C/++ programmer but I of course don't expect you to trust me with your intimate work, nor can I assure you that I'd be useful as I'm usually quite busy (shame). I don't care if this project takes ten years. Tomb Raider AOD ftw.
