Thanks for making this video. I ended up buying the monitor 😬 and I really love and appreciate it the big screen. How ever not sure why but my screen looks a lot different and I don’t have all those settings which I’ve been trying to see how I can get those to be able to use all the amazing features it offers
Great video! Can you apply the LUT to the HDMI out? It says so in their website but I want to confirm. I want to use with my Nikon Z8 so when I shoot N-Log I can send the signal with the LUT applied to the client monitor. The Z8 can only give gamma assist in the viewfinder and LCD but not to the HDMI out. Thanks.
Hello, i have purchased this monitor. Is there any reason my monitor is displayed the full 7 inch display? It’s only showing the camera display view from the camera it’s, in the center of the monitor with black edges around it. Any suggestions?
i need help! my lh7p show light reading capped at 70+ ire on all luma/rgb waveform & zebra when i point the camera towards bright light. This changed when i turn off pp8 and use neutral color profile . but still it capped at 90+ ire. when shooting in pp8 i had to set my zebra high to 79 ire to make it show the peaking color for highlights. if i set it over than 79 the peak color totally dissappear. im using the monitor with sony a7iv
You are getting very technical on me here. It sounds like it is monitoring the flat profile and not giving accurate results. I am not sure if you can apply the monitoring tools after the LUT has been applied. I don't really know how I could help, it's not something I have used or have experience of. You'll be better contacting PortKeys directly about this issue
@@PortkeysMonitorI am amazed at such a high level of support! I am a programmer myself, I am trying to access the canon CCAPI, but they are ignoring my request (for 1,5 months). Got it and i would not recommend the monitor... several time the ui glitches and i had to restart the monitor. The wireless is buggy and sometime turning off the camera, and instant reconnection is like a lottery which kinda defeats the purpose of one of my sole reason to get it 😢 also when in the wireless menu, it does not allow me go back to the standard menu where i could change aspect ratios etc. I would say monitor is still in beta at this point :( the hardware seems solid tho. After using it I would describe it as pretty much useless for users of S-log3, since rather than displaying the actual ISO, it just says "AUTO" rather than giving a numeric value: due to this when the ISO clips below 640, you are completely unaware of it, unless you're staring at the smaller monitor, which completely removes the purpose of this monitor if you're constantly having to check your camera's monitor, especially outdoors. I'm saying unless this problem is fixed in a firmware update its a 100% waste for 10-bit Slog3 users.
It shows numeric value of ISO. That's clearly visible in my video: 6:54 I am using it with V-log and S-log, using my own LUTS and I have no issues correctly exposing using this monitor. I can't say that it is useless
@@PavSZ false. Not if you’re using auto ISO. It just shows “AUTO” unlike the a7siii that will show you clipping at 640 even in auto mode. You need auto iso to maintain +2 exposure comp for slog. Portkeys already told me this is an issue they intend to fix via firmware. “Clearly” you missed that.
@@jarrodbarker you said it is pretty much useless but I have never filmed in auto ISO with a7sIII or any other camera and never had problem shooting in s-log. Not everyone has got the same work flow and there are different ways to achieve the same results
