Thank you for the excellent kit review. I have to say that as good as the Tamiya and other kits are these days I still feel the Monogram set the standard. I will often build many of their kits such as the Do 335, Me 262, P-47, P-51, and P-40 instead of the newer kits. Keep up the good work!
Hi Jon. Thanks for the review. Look forward to seeing the end result. This was a kit I though I would never get as the prices asked for the old kit were ridiculous. Watched those prices plummet when the re-release came out! 😁 I purchased a few extra AM bits for it and the Kubelwagen with extra figures included nice touch. I agree that the nose weight is a welcome addition that takes out the guesswork. I bought 2 in case I mucked it up. If it goes well I'll sell the other one for what I paid. I'm in this for fun, not profit! And I might make someone very happy! Cool looking beastie. I like that there's a ladder hidden in a hatch in wing root to get up there to the cockpit. And an early ejector seat. X-planes book by Robert Forsyth on the Do335 has a page from the RLM Do335 handbook gives RLM 81 and 82 for the splinter camo, RLM 70 for props/spinners and RLM 65 for the under surfaces. Also an artist's impression of the projected Do635, a long range Zwilling version for the Kriegsmarine to replace the Ju290 and the FW Condor! Greetings from South Australia (40C/104F today. Phew! Glad it's Sunday and I don't have to work!) Cheers Matt 🦘
nice video! I have one of these kits in my stash, always thought it would go together really nicely, as your video shows! I also have a 1970's frog 1/72 Do 335 that may be a different kettle of fish!
Hey Jon, this is awesome. A majority of your last videos have been on kits I have in my stash and on the build list. Its almost like I sent you a personal list and asked for a review. Plus I have acquired several kits based on your reviews from the eras I like to build from. Spirit of St Louis and He 111. I did spend a little more than planned on Black Friday sales but you just couldn't pass up some of those prices. I'm currently trying to increase my skill set on painting with all this new paints available. I saw a video on some new paints fro Squadron but the announcement was so poorly done I need to go direct to the site to see what they are. The only paints I can get locally are Tamiya and Vallejo Vallejo has got more colors and formulas than grains of sand on a beach.. Thanks for a great year of videos, Looking forward to 2025. Happy Holidays and Cheers Bob.
@c123bthunderpig Thanks, Bob! I'm glad the videos are matching up with kits you're building. I'm sure some of the deals were irresistible 😉. Painting the kits is still my bottleneck, but I'm hoping to complete a few before the end of the year. Happy holidays!
I built the monogram kit many moons ago and enjoyed it. Always was fascinated with this design I’m surprised with all the ejector pins marks for Tamiya. That being said she looks like a fun kit. Great review Jon! Thanks and ride on!
@@ekspatriat The Kubelwagen would be a nice addition. The combe kits from Tamiya are a great value. I'm sure the three kits look great together. Cheers!

I agree with your opinion as I’m a great appreciator of the old Monogram kits myself.
You're welcome! I grew up building (and still build) many of the Revell/Monogram kits. Many of them hold up quite well. Cheers!
Outstanding video and presentation.
Thanks!

Right on, Matt! Thanks for sharing those details on the Do335. The Germans had so many crazy ideas for aircraft designs. Stay cool!
Great review. I'm in agreement with you about the color call outs in the instructions. That's something I wish Tamiya would do something about.
@@davidfernandes920 Right on! The time saved on construction is often spent on color research for my Tamiya builds. Merry Christmas!
Another great review. I have the old Monogram kit in my stash.
Thanks, George! I've never seen the Monogram Do335 in person. Cheers!

Right on, Phil! The Tamiya Do335 is a pleasure to build. And, I agree, the Frog kit sounds like it will be a challenge to turn out well. Cheers!
I build the Tamiya Do335b-2 Heavy armed version, was a great build (used the french version)
Very cool! I like that version. I have the two-seat version still on the shelf. Cheers!

You're welcome. I haven't personally seen the Monogram Do335 outside its box. It is a fascinating aircraft. Cheers!
I have this but with the Kubelwagen. I also have the 1/72 Hobbyboss and 1/32 HKM. Thought they would all look good together.

For tamiyagawa kit fans by it not falling together is sacrilege?😳

Every kit requires some skill. This one would be a great low-stress build after tackling a more challenging kit. Cheers!
Also hard to find and very expensive.
I did not know that. I found this one "used" at a local model shop. I just couldn't say no for thew $16 they were asking! Cheers!
@jonsmodelkitreview4624 theyre £45 new but you cant get hold of them. They sell between £70-£90 second hand on ebay.
