I was on a vacation. I went to Italy - Venice, Capri and the Amalfi Coast (Positano) for about 10 days. I also spent two weeks in England (and was married).
HAHA! On this trip I was in a group of 6. Ryan Air has no leg room, no seat pockets, no blankets, no pillows and the seats do not recline. The pilots are tops (unlike Southwest Airlines) and the crew are efficient and fast.
It isd actually a custom very common to non-US/British countries. They are grateful for having landed safely and to be home. That is why they clap. A lot of Catholics cross themselves too.
I love how Europeans still clap when a plane lands haha... Only happens when I fly to Europe. Whenever I fly within the US no one claps, in fact as soon as the plane lands so many people take out their cell phones. Unfortunately, pilots aren't respected as much as they used to be. Trieste looks beautiful, but I've only flown into Rome and Palermo. I remember last summer when I flew to Rome we took a route that took us right over Corsica into Rome and I had some of the most stunning views ever.
It was. Everyone blasts Ryan Air, butu if you know what you are paying for, it is a good deal, with good liplots and great NEW planes that are not AirBUST's!
I agree, its not great. BUt if you follow the rules and check in online (not at the aeroport) et cetera - then it is not that bad. The food they sell is not bad either. Surprisigly, their pilots are quite good as well.
@ben7k Not too bad was it? Give teh Ryan Air fellows some credit - they are not all that bad, ini fact they are pretty good and teh fact that they have to fly Boeings makes them better than the drones who learn to fly AirBUSTS.
Not really. At first it was a PR stunt by CEO O'Leary. It got a lot of attention too. I have not personally confirmed it, but I believe that one does have to pay for toilets now.
@williamwilbur See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. As long as you have a passive device - that is a camera that has no wi-fi or interenet - like just a camera-camera (not a camera-phone or other such device) then it is perfectly safe to film. The problem is that the flight crew does not have the time to distinguish, so everyone is told to turn off all electronic devies full stop.
Ryanair didnt do this !! I think ur thinking of easyjets A319's !!!!! Ryanair 737s all have 3 toilets - the standard ammount - 189 seats - the max allowed on the 737-800 searies aircraft !!
Micheal O'Leary, in his genius, added more rows to each of his planes by removing loo's (toilets). Problem is, now, as mandated by Boeing and all Commerical Aviation Regulatory bodies (except African ones I guess) dictate that he has to add another emergeny exit to the plane on each side. What an idiot he is (sometimes). He does know how to make a penny into a gold bar though.
one of The best landing movie I've ever seen (I saw about 30000) :P
amazing quality, steady hand and an amazing athmosphere + good airline!
Glad you liked them my good man! Happy flying.

I dont remember the row. Yes it was a 737-8 - it is all Ryan Air has anyway (all -800's) I believe.
good movie! 5/5
Everyone is chatting away until touchdown and the thrust reversers start roaring, then silence.. :)

Sorry, I have an LAX video that I got confused with this one. Yeah, good weather doesnt always mean a good landing though.

@Tottione1
Check out my others, especially the 777 videos! Thanks for the nice comments.
what were you doing in europe?
Is it true? You are allowed video cameras on landing cuz i really want to film
In which row were you sitting?
It was a 737-800 right?

@onecunningfox Oh yes, thankyou.
Once the flight attendants sit down its fair game!!! They wont be up for their own safety!

Really? Nice then!

Aww...poor Southwest Airlines...they can be a bit 'pioneering' in their flights.

are you actually a pilot? jw
...That's bizarre...
