I love how you let us know how long it takes you to finish each piece. Sometimes its easy to see the sped up process and forget about the time factor. It really helps keep things in perspective.
@@Blue-zu5mj she's not underrated. It just happens that not so many people know about her, but she's yet to be discovered. Many people who subscribed to her are inlove with her very understandable tutorials and voiced over lessons.
I've been drawing animals, with pencil crayons for a very long time and i never used this technique before. Thank you for this tip of blending it has made my drawings more realistic!
Be careful with that, I did it once with some watercolor pencils and after about a year looked at it again and found some weird green dried booger looking stuff on it... Yucky
Whoa, that creates such amazing results! I had no idea you could do that with colored pencil, I have got to give this a try! I love that there is always so much more to learn with art.
👍Once again THANK YOU for an incredible & informative video. Goes to prove you can ‘teach an old dog new tricks’. Your videos are as educational as they are enjoyable. I’m a little younger than dirt & certainly appreciate your clear diction & pronunciation. All the videos I’ve watched so far are a great pleasure to watch. 👏👏👏👏👏👏❣️
Thank you so much for your quick reply! You're the best! I'm trying hard to learn how to draw portraits of my Grandchildren. It may take years, but you are the best teacher!
I just did the kingfisher bird tutorial on your Patreon today using this method for the first time, and it is amazing. The colors become so vibrant too! Thanks Kirsty.
Experimenting with non toxic eucalyptus essential oil in just the same amount, but have only done it with a blending stump so far. It worked well! Need to try with additional layers and a brush. Great alternative to carcinogenic solvents!
Thanks for sharing! I actually got this same product after watching some of your previous videos where you have mentioned that you use this product and i bought it on Amazon. It works great and I love the citrus smell :)
I am still saving up to try a patreon subscription but even at $5 a month it is just out of reach at the present time, I love watching your youtube videos and I am thankful you still post here! Keep them coming and thanks again! Truly great works!
for those with sensitive noses and an aversion to smelly fumes, odorless mineral spirits (also sold as "low odor thinner") work exactly like Zest It or turpenoid, etc. I highly recommend it for colored pencil artists, expecially if you live in a climate where open windows are prohibitive. Thanks Kirsty, for a fine tutorial.
I've done it with Watersoluble Color Pencils from Carand'Ache and it looks great. It's my Christmas present for my sister :) Thank you for your great tutorials and Merry Christmas
I love watching your toturial! Your so very talented and amazing! And also your so pretty!💖😊 Thnks for sharing your toturial! I've learn more lots of drawing using color pencil!😊🙏 God bless u!😊😇🙏
I sometimes mix random things together and put it on my drawings once I added baby oil and salt together and put it on the pupil of the cat drawing,it crystallized a bit an shone as if it was reflecting light(doesn't happen all the time idk why)
Hi Kirsty, I bought solvent from a local art store in my city, I can't buy Zest Solvent cause it's not selling in my country and I don't have a bank account to shop online. So, can you list the ingredients of the type of solvent you're using, cause mine does intensify the color, but it does not stay in place, it moves around and smudges so much that I can't achieve the desired result. Bye the way, this studies are absolutely stunning, but I mean they always are he he 😜!

omg what I was wondering how people get coloured pencils to look SO saturated and smooth
thank you!!
you: get some professional solvent and use a paintbrush to smooth
me: lick ur finger and rub the paper
(In all seriousness, love the vid!)
OstrichWearingHeadphones honestly same
Be careful with that, I did it once with some watercolor pencils and after about a year looked at it again and found some weird green dried booger looking stuff on it... Yucky

I kinda did this when I was a kid. I went over my color pencils with a color marker. I completely forgot about it. So much potential here.
Whoa, that creates such amazing results! I had no idea you could do that with colored pencil, I have got to give this a try! I love that there is always so much more to learn with art.

I ordered some Zest it from the UK and received it today, can’t wait to try it out

Awesome technique! It's like toning the paper and going in with the highlights and deep shadows.

Which solvent?
And i really loved this technique.
it is pencil blend but you can use baby oil it works same and non toxic
baby oil is not archival.
I think you can use a marker blender too!! 😀
Owais Abbas does the baby oil dry out?
Potato Goddess probably not. It'll eat through your paper if you try layering again.
This is absolutely amazing!😍
Seriously you are a phenomenal artist.
