Suncho actually every drawing disappoints me. In the beginning it's beautifully detailed and contrasted and then she ruins everything by just making the fur being all black or brown. In the end it's beautiful, yes, but what's the point with making such an effort if she just colours everything in the end ?
It adds depth. If I draw something and use just two colours it shows. Layering and building multiple tones really makes a difference. It's the key to a good piece of work, anything good takes time and patience 😊
@@agisa123456789 actually by doing alot of steps it gives more depth, a more realistic look, and it gives more of a less grainy look. but if you want a realism/illustration type of drawing, then yes you can stop at the beggining :)

After my last drawing, I realised I had to up my game when it came to drawing fur. This video has helped loads! Tried all 5 methods and it's been a definite improvement on what I could do before, so thanks! Subbed and will be using your tuts for future reference.
You are extremely talented when it comes to art hacks, drawing, shading, blending, burnishing, solvents, and coloring! Thank you for your technique tutorials....it really gave me the knowledge that i was lacking in some areas and much improvement on others. Can't wait to keep learning from your videos. Practice and patience! Have a good day!
I know this video is from 3 years ago but it's 2020 now during covid 19 pandemic. I love your work and this was a great tutorial and a much needed distraction. Thanks so much you lovely talented woman.
is there any way you could show your reference photos in future videos? if I wanted to draw brown fur, for instance, I'd want to get out a brown pencil the exact same color. I'd be interested to see how you get from the photo to the first layer, second layer, etc., if that makes sense.
Your description along with showing your work is really good! Though I can't help but to think "What kind of sorcery is this!?" after a few layers. I never knew how to proceed passed one layer, so this was magical and so useful to me, at the same time!
I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else needs to find out about steps to draw pencil portraits try Skyarza Portrait Coach Star (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my m8 got excellent success with it.
So fascinating! I wanted to learn this anyway, but it was a great cure for insomnia. I forgot myself trying to get the techniques right, and relaxed with focus on hand and pencils . . . and some of it actually looked like what you were aiming at. Then I got a glass of milk and went to sleep.
When i see thumbnail *it's hard i cant do it* But my heart made me to click the video When i watch fully video *oh man its easy* You made it easy. The way you explan made it super easy thank you so much "you made me to do it"
Wow u make it look so simple. I think that I'd still mess up. When I was in high school I had the highest grade. I stopped drawing due to starting a family. I'm 53 and feels like I'm starting from scratch again. Anyway ty for a amazing art video I also shared with my two grandchildren who are into art in a big way.
Amazing!!! A few months ago your video was the first impulse I got to finally start drawing with colour pencil. Now that I've rediscovered it I realize the impact it had on my work Thanks!!! You're awesome!
Since I don't have polycromos, I use prismacolor scholar pencils cause they're harder than the prisma primers. Works for me ! Love what you did with the solvent. They all look excellent ! Never would have thought of or seen the etching before. Can't wait to try it ! Thanks, your awesome !
WOW, this is excellent!! Going to recommend you to my mom, who has recently really started to enjoy colored pencil work. I hadn't even considered adding other media like markers or paint for an underbase. Your results look AMAZING!!
With all five I was like “WOW, how can this get any more beautiful” and then POOF another layer of beautifulness and I was like 😱HOW CAN YOU DO THIS!?!
Wow that’s great. I knew about the etching technique, the layering technique, the watercolor underbase. I have never tried markers underbase or the solvent techniques. Thanks for sharing this wonderful informational video with us.
I've been looking for a good tutorial about drawing fur with different media and at last I've found a really good, informative one. Now I can draw much more realistic animals; thank you Kirsty!
Thank you! Im starting a new drawing tomorrow for neighbor. He wants me to draw his 2 puppies, both mutts. Kirsty my favorite living artist today. Always so helpful and not afraid to share super awesome techniques. 😏
You have an amazing talent and knowledge about creating artwork. For someone just starting out, your tutorials are extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing.
I am totally impressed with your fur!! I think what else all your technique tells us that you need patience and to keep laying down the layers and layers and eventually, it should come to life...right? Thanks so much. It helps me tremendously. I have gotten there with skin, but hair and fur well, I must not have had the patience.
I love your videos, I really enjoy your voice, also you're clear in your teaching so massive thumbs up 👍and you're a really good artist so inspiring too xxx

Thank you for doing this tutorial video of how to draw realistic fur, especially using pencils. I am going to try and put this in good use by trying to draw characters I have made with realistic fur. It may take me a few days, but it will be rewarding. I will be looking forward seeing more of your vedios in the future. ^^

this is honestly really inspirational and helpful, I really like your videos, i hope i could one day become a great artist, lately I've been kinda unmotivated to draw, i have so many ideas but its like i get tired of making the same mistakes I always make in my art, its like I try too hard or overthink things because i wanna improve but if i make a single mistake I give up on drawing it. I am not exactly sure what to do, I always go back and re-watch your videos to get something out of them but I feel like I'm the problem to everything, I feel like I have to change everything about myself to even overcome the little things and it doesn't seem to work, I always go back to doing nothing and only stressing out. I'm still trying because of people like you, you seem to really care about art and helping other artists and I am grateful for that (:
Many years ago (about 30) I was doing watercolour with colour pencil over the top, but was told by the 'watercolour expert artists' that 'that is not the way to do art' so I gave up doing that technique. I have found that many of the things that I did years ago are now 'the way to get results' and I am a little sad that I was told off for doing what I thought was the way to get results faster. I feel cheated that I was right all those years ago and I should have never given up my artwork. Now I am doing art again my way and if feels so right!
