@@thetattedbaldguy nice. That sounds like a plan brother. Hey. One thing though. I’m sure you like what you like, but I’ve been telling everyone I know about my recent discoveries. GFS pickups. I’m sure you’ve heard of them, but I’ve been using them for a couple years now with great results. I’m very partial to the alnico 2 and 3 pups. I’ve been using the hot tossed VEH too. They have pro series pups that are phenomenal, but I mostly use their kwik plug stuff. Quick, easy, sounds really good and each pup is about $34. I love Duncan’s and dimarzios, but it’s hard to tell much of a difference with some of this stuff. And let’s face it $200 for a set of pups is tough. I hope you check them out. Every player should I think. Rock on brother.
9:55 this is actually a bonus for me because I found as a guitar player (who plays leads/solos even), I LOVE thick guitar necks! As much as I love how Jacksons look, it's the biggest reason I don't mess with them because of their thin necks. I had that same B.C. Rich KKV you have hanging on the wall & I HATED how thin that neck was! I am a HUGE fan of the Washburn Culprit & I love that this guitar is like a budget modern day version of it! Once the wiring issues are address & upgrade the electronics, I see this as being one HELL of a guitar!
Wow! Can’t say I hear that too often! But if I really think about it, I agree. The thicker neck seems to fit my playing style better. When I play on the thin necks, I have to readjust my hand positioning. I just assumed it was because I was too used to playing bass. Especially Warwicks. Their necks are thick. I’ve been to just to get to the bottom of the noise issue, but it’s still been a lot of fun to play. I just made a new video with it the other day and the tone sounds killer
@@thetattedbaldguy I have been told by various people (some kind of famous even) that I have a very 'tight' guitar style. I guess one of the reasons I love the thicker neck is I can 'grip' it better? With the thinner necks, it cramps my palms usually but a thicker round neck tends to contour to my grip almost perfectly. Shred players do play lighter on the fretboard (best example: James Hetfield vs Kirk Hammett. You'll notice Kirk doesn't hold his guitar as tight as James does. Almost same with Dave Mustaine vs. Marty Friedman too).
I just won this same exact guitar bro. It’s the same Undertaker purple finish. The paint on the back of my neck was a little over sprayed, but it faded with shredding on it. The only difference between ours was that mine didn’t have that grounding issue like yours did.?! I’m sure that it’s an easy fix. I’m going to swap out the pups and put some better quality tuners. The guitar overall is a steal 4 the price of it being it’s spec’d out pretty good.! Thanks for sharing my metal brother and siiiick jam!! Happy Holidays to you and your family and until next time….. Stay safe, Stay metal, and don’t forget to Riff.?! 🤘🏻😎🎸🔥🪓👍🏻🎅🏻
I think it's just a grounding issue honestly. The ground wire might not be properly touching the metal. Also, maybe because it's coated black metal. Wouldn't hurt to buy some copper shielding tape and shield all the cavities and pickup routes
I look forward to your update on this! Your jam was sick brother, it would be nice to see them release a version with the cool burst or sparkle finishes like on their other models! \m/
Thank you for the kind words! I agree, those sparkle variants are awesome too! I’m hoping it’s an easy fix because imo, the tone is good. But the noise is just too much to overlook
I just got done editing a video on the Firefly X now Im GASing over this thanks 😎🤙Just got back into playing, boy is my chug off🤣 Not sure if I ever had it
Aside from the noise issue, I’ve been having a ton of fun with this thing. It doesn’t break the bank too badly either. The FR version with the killswitch also looks awesome. Lmk if you wind up getting one
I have the Racer and the Revenge and they both have thicker than usual necks, but they are great players and feel good in your hands. I also find the necks help keep your hand in a classical guitar playing position for easier shredding. I have had 3 SG's in the past few decades, 2 Gibsons and 1 Tokai, and the Racer just feels better than all of them.
To be honest, I’m not sure yet. I’m going to bring them over to a friend’s next week. He’s a lot more knowledgeable about it than I am. I love the way it looks so hopefully it’s an easy fix. I like this guitar but not enough to drop $200 worth of pickups into it
@@thetattedbaldguy There are plenty of budget pickup brands on Amazon, Ebay or elsewhere just as there are budget guitars, Guitar Madness, OriPure, Fleor, Wilkinson, Guitar Fetish etc.... \m/
Thank you! And man, EMGs in this thing would sound brutal. It’s a shame because the tone is pretty good imo. We’ll see how easy of a fix it is. Supposedly they’re wired up incorrectly
I have the westcreek flying v you review and play as same as the revenge (explorer ) you thing this one play as same as the celebrus one or you notice the difference in the playabilitie on the high voltage
There’s something about my Cerberus that impresses me every time I pick it up. It’s like I forgot how good it feels to play. That being said, I’ve been playing the high voltage a lot too. A noise gate pedal took care of the annoying buzz and this guitar just rips. The neck feels slightly fatter on this guitar, not sure if that will factor in with your decision
Maybe when they make a 24 fret version in both locking tremolo and ht. I don't know why they keep using T.O.M. bridges on flat guitars when they can mount a HT. It isn't that much a difference in overhead if the bastards resource right. Fire the moron who wired that guitar to start saving money on their end. 😅
They need to put you at the helm! I’m not sure why they make those silly choices. They make solid guitars. With these little adjustments they’d be even more successful

Man, that tone at 8:49 is nuts 🤘
Thanks brother! That’s greatly appreciated! 🫡🤘🏻
I’m glad someone reviewed this thing. I’ve been considering one for a mod platform. All things considered, I think it will make a good candidate.
I agree! I’ve been having a lot of fun playing it. So much in fact, I’ve been thinking of upgrading it with some Seymour Duncan’s

That solo at the end of your jam is just 🤌🏼
Thank you, my friend
Very cool body shape. I totally want one!
I’ve been having a lot of fun with it! I might even upgrade the pickups and turn this thing into a beast
If you relocate the front strap button to the neck joint, it’ll reduce most of that dive.

Fun demo as always! Do the pups need grounding or just a bad soldering job? Enquiring minds have to know!

Awesome, thank you! If there’s ever a guitar you’re interested in seeing a review for, let me know!
Washburn culprit vibes. Wish westcreek made a bc rich ironbird, aria urchin, or Kramer voyager style guitar as well.
Cool review, kinda of downer with pickup noise. I would buy it and throw some emgs in it.

hahahahaha !!! Does this guitar make my butt look big???
