Not to mention, completely skipped over the 22 long. Went from strait 22 short to 22 long rifle. ....now have to teach the guy making the video, that's supposed to be teaching me. 22 long used the same lightweight projectile as 22 short with a tad bit of added powder in the case. They didn't increase the case length and projectile weight at the same time. As this video suggests. The .22 long is the second-oldest of the surviving rimfire cartridges, dating back to 1871, when it was loaded with a 29 gr (1.9 g) bullet and 5 gr (0.32 g) of black powder, 25% more than the 22 short on which it was based. The long rifle variation cam along around 1884 or 1885. With a slightly shorter case length. Resulting in about the same overall complete cartridge length. Today we have companies making 22lr with the lighter projectile. And comparable powder charges as the old 22Long. Just with the shorter 22lr case length. Effectively making another variation, even if its not categorized as one. And that's the shocking truth about 22lr that you have not heard before.
I clicked because I was like oh something interesting about a caliber I think is fun. But i just came to the comments immediately and sure enough the first one I see says this is nothing new. I'm getting sick of all the non creativity on UA-cam these days where are the content creators? This is just crap.

In section #3 he talks about bullets and loading and being at the mercy of manufacturers. This is true but he didnt talk about reprofiling the bullet at all even though he showed the press to do it. I have done a lot of work with reprofiling 22LR which increased accuracy by 30% as well as reduced flyers. I found the key is the OAL or over all length of the round. .960" seems to be the sweet spot of the round length. You will find that the cheaper ammo's run from .970" to .995" which you might say its going into the lands but where if falls short is most of the bullets are .221" to .223" in diameter. The rounds that really shoot like Lapua or Eley, measure out to 960 with a diameter of .224+. Now Im talking about the high dollar rounds not Eley Target or Club but Match or 10X. I have also found that between .224" and .2255" are the diameter of the slug that guns prefer. Not all guns like the same diameter. Most seem to shoot better with .2245" on the diameter but thats not gospel. I have also found that you will never make any cheap or mid-range round one that you can compete with but they can be made to shoot better to make your experience, at the practice range, a pleasurable one. Naturally you cant influence the primer in the rim or the amount of powder in the round but things you can influence on the outside will improve your performance. There is a thread on RimFire Central "reprofiling, does it work" there is a lot of info there if you are interested.
Stop saying "caliber". 0.22" or 22 is the caliber. 22 Long Rifle or 22 LR is the CARTRIDGE.So when you say things like "The 22 LR is one of the most budget friendly calibers" is wrong. It is one of the most budget friendly cartridges out there. 22LR, 223 Remington, and the 22-250 are all 22 caliber but are very different cartridges.
Apparently you did not pay attention, but I saw . Ruger 22 revolver, Taurus PT, ruger mark , and a gut gun. As for rifles lever, bolt, semi, an a pump. There was one single brake action
Well in my experience yes I love the 22 but it has big chance on ricocheting one instance I was shooting at something about 50 yards away the bullet ricocheted and hit the ground at someone's feet over 300 yards away
Several years ago we were at a shooting range in greenland we were surprised by 22 lr penetration power... We also tested on a thick tree stump and only the 22 lr bullets penetrated the tree... We tried (30-30) (6,5*55) and maybe (223) I cant remember... tree stump is about 40-50 cm
None of the information in this video was new or shocking. And yes, I HAD heard it all before. You win. I clicked on it.
Same here 😅😂

I canceled my UA-cam premium because so much is censored or rehashed or too long or too amateur.
BUT.....hey, they did warn against hunting elephants with 22LR, and informed us that it is hard to reload rimfire cartridges. priceless!!!

Nothing new to learn here , kept repeating same thing over and over again ........
No matter what information I have aquired, I always am willing to look for something new. Nothing new here.
Why does he keep repeating himself.......repeating himself..and repeating himself. Quite frankly after 6 minutes I was bored to tears.
I knew everything that you said, but I disagree with you saying that it's not a dirty caliber to shoot
Depends on the brand of cartridge and type of powder used.
Just my opinion but seems to me if you're going to do a video on 22's you'd show 22 cal pistols and rifles 😂

I can't believe I watched any of this let alone all of it. From small game to elephant as if there is nothing between that is shocking.

I had one bounce back and hit me in the forehead luckily just blood was the only thing that came out

Impressive!
I'm getting sick of these AI generated videos made by people who are too lazy to do any actual research
22 lr has Less fouling? What a crock. I stopped watching halfway through after this bogus misinformation.
Maybe True in the beginning wen a lot of black power was still being loaded in other calibers just a thought
Rubbish AI video, I’m sick of seeing these false AI videos, lazy and poor
22 lr was preceded by the 22 long not the short as this vid claims. Lame lame vid.
Reloading .22IR? It can be done but only as a last resort. This article is a joke.
Don watch. AI rubbish.
Inaccurate history, no mention .22 long.
And my Henry 22
@:11- What the 7734 has an ar got to do ,talking about 22 rf ???????
Well, they do make AR configurations in 22lr
Great cartridge. Cartridge......the .22 LR is not a caliber; it is a cartridge of .223" caliber.
Some kid in his mom’s basement made this crap! 👎
Boring
Why do you always never mention target and match loads?
more click bait garbage
after 5min its was so boring and i stoped the video
NO ENTIENDO NADA
Talk is cheap. Pictures dont match the talk.
