Remington Smooth & Silky Face & Body Epilator
*I purchased the Emjoi myself and the Remington epilator was sent to me by folica.com as part of their review program. All thoughts and opinions are honest and my own. - Навчання та стиль
started epilating.first time is a bit painful but you will notice the number of hair decreases over time.works amazing and it is soo worth it.
I've been using on on my bikini line for years! (to clarify, just the sides, not like way down under) :P It takes a little getting used to, but it's made a world of difference for me. Shaving there always gave me terrible razor burn and ingrown hairs and waxing is messy, unless you go to a salon. It's pretty much pain free for me now, you just have to build a tolerance. Worth it for me!
I epilate and it is SO worth it. At first it hurts buuut once you start your legs will kinda feel numb and you wont feel the pain (:
The best review I've seen so far. Thanks for sharing
Lepooke, I did not realize that this was a while back , BUT very informative. Thank you so much and hope to see you again
If you have strawberry legs(dots all over your legs after shaving which makes it look like you haven't shaved ) it works great I bought the braun epilator wet and dry from bed bath and beyond it was worth $78 bucks trust me
I'm glad I found this! I've had long, coarse, dark arm hair for as long as I can remember--even more than some men, if you can believe that. I tried sugaring as a way to remove it while making it grow in less over time so I could at least get it to a no-longer-bothersome state, and it took me around an hour to do do (most of) one lower arm. Ain't nobody got time for that! So I'm looking at epilation as my next option.
What were your results?
Did you ever begin epilating?
Your hair looks AMAZING w/ the new layers!!!!
yes it is true, my mom has epilator over 15 years and more and she is almost hairless after years of using. she has the zepter brand, and i have philips too. but i am cheating and sometimes i shave but always come back to this method. it is definitelythe best metod!
You are so pretty! And your hair is plain gorgeous no other words to explain its beauty! LOVE IT
Just had to let you know I love your hair! I really like the way it frames your face. You always do such a great job doing your reviews! Very informative!
you look so great here! your skin and hair both look so amazing!
Excellent review! Thank you for taking the time out to show the mechanism inside and the parts that are removable. I actually do well with pain and am not that hairy so your video just confirmed my decision to get an epilator! :)
Thanks for this video! Very informative! I used to wax everytime but it cost me a lot to wax every 2 weeks at the salon and I made a mess waxing at home ! So I'm definitely getting an epilator now :)
I've been having laser hair removal on my face for sideburns and such and it's actually been working well! And I really appreciated this review because I was considering getting one for other areas with hair (underarms, legs, etc.) So thank you!
Definitely getting an epilator now! I recently tried the ready wax strips and, although I loved the results, I only ended up doing one of my calf's because I quickly realized that it was going to take a while to do everything that I normally shave and I was seriously going to need more than one box. I never even thought of an epilator till I stumbled onto your video. This seems like the most logical answer for me. Great video and thanks for all the info you shared. (:
I've always wondered about these. Very informative. Great video!
This was SO helpful! Thank you. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy one now.
Totally worth it! Lol Love this well made but candid video. Always cool to hear from other epilator users.
Thank you! This was actually really helpful because these are EXACTLY the two epilators I was trying to decide between. (If the emjoi was worth the extra $20). So I'm definitely gonna get the Remington (:
omg! this is my 1st view of any of your videos, i love you views!
well base on this one, cause i think i'm going to invest in a epilators now, cause i hate shave and i don't want it getting thicker and i ALWAYS miss a spot somewhere lol
please keep uploading!!!
thank u so much girl and ur eyebrows look so good
Thank you for all the information! I have waxed but am thinking of epilating.
This was really helpful thank you! :D
I too have been contemplating investing in one of these machines.
hi there! thanks for stopping by. I was sick a couple weeks ago and this week we had some visitors so I've been busy. Will upload soon! thanks again
im glad you found it helpful, thanks for watching!
Thank you this helped me a lot I thought I was the only one with the in grown hairs!
Oh I am so with you on laser hair removal. If I could start it tomorrow I would.
Wow thanks really useful tips I can go and happily purchase one now!
glad you found it informative =) thanks for watching!
that's awesome, so happy with mine too =) that's true, the hairs do have to be a little longer in order for the epilator to be able to grab them.
I just used mine for the first time on my underarms and it hurts pretty badly at first but gets better as you go on. The pain goes away almost immediately so, for me, it was worth it. I can't lie, though, i shouted quite a few expletives the first time I used it.
Thank you for the very helpful and informative video! I never really knew this hair removal device existence and now I will research! Thanks! You're great ^-^
As a guy with acne and skin that easily discolored from razors, I think they are well worth it
SUCH a helpful video. I'm so gonna go out and buy one even though I'm such a crybaby when it comes to pain. Not having to do it every other day will be so worth it (:
thats a good point, yes you do, it need to be long enough for the tweezers to be able to clamp onto the hair, i dont know the particular length though, but nothing super noticeable
I have the Remington too and I love it, Its better than shaving in my opinion and you do get used to the pain....your leg goes numb after a while. Also when you use the Remington while its plugged in the power is more intense. For ingrown hair I use a product called "bump and Blemish" and it works great as well. I have thick dark course hair btw!
thanks so much for watching. Glad you found it helpful =)
It really depends on the area & where you live. My lower legs ended up being about $225 a treatment. Upper legs were another $200ish per treatment. I bought a 6 treatment package for each so that got me a little bit of a discount. Treatments are 4-6weeks apart. After that touch ups were half price. I need touch ups every 3 months but I skip them in the winter so pretty much twice a year.
You are too kind! thank you so much =)
Great review!!!
eyebrows look amazing!
Love your shirt! I currently do waxing/shaving, and really want to do laser hair removal but it's so expensive! Thing I hate about waxing is that it takes forever to do all of my legs, so how long do epilating yours take (approx of course). And I'm glad you put out this video because I really trust you and it's something I've been considering.
This was super helpful, makes me want to try it out! I haven't heard much about them actually, but now I'm excited to look into it further. How long does the hair have to be for it to be grabbed? I know with waxing, you need more growth than I'd like to have, ya know? Thanks for this, xxoo!
What model is your Remington epilator? I have the 7030 Wet/Dry one, but looking at yours, it looks like it would be better because the head is more open. Great review, BTW!
Thanks for the review. I want to get an epilator now. Laser hair removal is more painful than they say. I do get some darker hairs on my lip still and shave them off but overall glad I did it. My chin wasn't so great. I had gotten my chin threaded a couple times making the hairs very thick. I'm still going through more laser treatments (on my 9th appt). I don't think laser hair removal is a real permanent solution but it helps.
I got Braun Silk-Épil Xpressive 7181 Epilator, and it's great, I love it! I tested it for the first time yesterday and it didnt hurt that much.
yes I'm really enjoying it too, thank you
Keep in mind, I'm from Pittsburgh, PA where the cost of living is pretty low compared to places like LA or NYC where laser hair removal is much more expensive. I'd also be really careful about where you go because the laser can burn you and cause damage if not done properly.
In my opinion i love the braun epilators they are amazinggg i honestly swear by it.
It's true...my hair doesn't grow in over 90% of the areas I epilate. One or two ingrown hairs? I had 50 in bikini area when I shaved! Witch Hazel after you epilate..$2.00 at Dollar store.. epilation is the bomb..I now only have to once a month
.bit I have been doing for 10+ years. Including my underarms where I use to have to shave. Twice a day...it only hurts first two times really..hairs is so fine after that....so worth it. Saved me so much money...no razors, shaving cream, shavings butter...on and on ....
Don't let your ingrown hairs get bad! It can turn into a cyst and you might actually HAVE to go into surgery.
thank you so much for all of the information! : )
good reviews, thanks!
when you do epilate do you have to move the eplilator in the direction of hair growth? Or does it even matter? thanks this was a very informative and honest video, I think I'm going to give it a shot!
Not bad at all, I actually had my fourth treatment out of a series of 6 last night. I would equate the pain to be less bad than waxing. I'm super fair skinned and my nurse who does the actual procedure on me is Asian and she is having several areas done currently herself told me that they have to use a different setting on the laser for her because there is more pigment in her skin then mine, and it's a more painful laser. Each treatment takes about 5 minutes under the laser per area, though.
this is great, buying a Pansonic epilator ES-WD72 tomorrow :)
Thanks for the review! I don't recommend infrared laser hair removal at the spa. It's a waste of
If it hurts too much, try slapping the skin when the pain gets to be too much... the brain can only recognize one type of pain at a time, so slapping the skin kind of glitches the brain into forgetting about the previous pain from the epilation... this also works with waxing
Very informative video clip...Im trying to decide...I really need somethng for my chin
facial hair
Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks for the advice I got the 39.99 from this website I hope it works because I'm tired of waxing and shaving lol I got the 40 blades one because I come from a hairy family I hope It works and thanks for this website it's really good and you save money
Your hair is beautiful.
Thanks for being open to questions about the laser hair removal....I have really been wanting to do it myself. Could you give me a ballpark figure as to the costs of it, and approx. how many treatments would it take to remove hair on the arms?
I have a sea foam green remington epilator that I use for my underarms and I love it! If only it worked on super short hairs...lol
male waxing, i need a wax every 2 months, thinking about buying epilator which is required every 7 days, this video is very informative, best wishes, imran
@dragonfruitlove
I'm a whiner and i suck when it comes to pain so when i first got the epilator, i waited like.. 3 days before i started using it. I'd never waxed any part of my body before I purchased this and I was extremely afraid of what it would feel like. I'm not going to lie. There is a twinge of discomfort in the beginning but its more because of the shock than the pain. It tingles afterwards a little but all in all, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase.
love your vids!
hmm..thats tough cause it obviously hurt more when i first started and now im getting used to it. But i guess i would say (for me, everyone is different) legs = 5. underarms = 6, upper lip = 7, nothing really brought me to tears and if you take breaks its really not that bad. and as you get used to it, it gets better.
i am prone to ingrown hairs too. It really sucks and exfoliating before and after really helps.
Very informative. Thank you. Still worried about this pain. Also, epilating in more private and sensitive areas? How safe is that?
Nichole Terry i'd stay clear. i used an epilator on received dark spots. the pain isn't worth it to answer your question once & for all. just wanted to save someone else the trouble but ultimately it's up to you. =) i hope that helps.
i have the emjoi soft caress too. i think it doesn't remove the shorter hair very well on my legs.
im glad it was helpful! let me know how it works out!
I'm not sure what I should use. I usually shave my underarms. But my underarms are now darker than the rest of my skin and it's kinda embarrassing. I also noticed that when I shave, you can still see the hair. I would try waxing, but I have sensitive skin and I break out after being waxed. I also get ingrown hair easily and I am really bad with pain... not sure what to do.
I've had laser hair removal done... I'd be glad to answer any questions you have! Not enough room in the comments to get all into the details but the short of it is... it hasn't been a 1 time fix it forever solution. I do still have to get touch ups every couple of months (which probably costs more than shaving) but it has made a big difference for me. I'm glad I did it.
Can you please tell me where can I purchased Remington epilator the exact one you are taking about? I purchased it the very first time from Walmart and I’ve been using it for like 6 years now it’s still working great. I absolutely love it. But now I want to purchase one for a gift and I can’t find this exact Remington epilator nowhere. I live in Toronto, Canada.
I just got my epilator and I am hoping for the best. I have post-menopausal peach fuzz all around my jaw line and find it is unacceptable.I have shaved, chemically burned my skin, trying to be able to find a reasonable solution. Shaving is out. Depilatory creams, out. Tweezing was very good until the areas I wanted to tweeze became larger... thanks for the video. I got the Epilady Legend 4th Generation. What do you think of that model? If you know anything?
i think it really depends on the individual. For me, its more painful on the armpit area. The hair is thicker and its just a more sensitive area
I'll save up and buy the remingtone one! it ñooks like its REALLY WORTH IT!
Yeah, the epilator also increased my ingrowth hair :/, I'm trying laser now to finally get rid of it. Since epilator increased my pain threshold, i can stand laser now! :)
most of the hairs do get caught in the epilator, any little hairs that dont get caught arent very noticeable so the mess isnt really an issue
I just saw several epilators at Walmart. They had a Remington brand one there.
I love the Braun 9
yes i do, it does hurt quite a bit cause for me anyway, my under arm hairs are thicker.
Do you have any complaints about the Remington one? I was considering purchasing that one.
oh, please let me know how the laser goes! I would love to get that one day!
I've been using an epilator for about seven years. The first time was very painful. I thought, "Well, I'm never going to do that again!" but the hair didn't noticably grow back for a couple of weeks, and the instructions did mention that it would get better (more comfortable over time); So I tried again after the hairs were long enough for the twizers to grasp. Second time was not any where near as painfull, and so on and so forth. Suffice to say that today I am both hair and pain free! EpiLady
So the elipulator made the hair stop growing back?? What brand did you buy??
I really feels like getting hit with a rubber band. (everyone will say this, but it's exactly the same feeling!) Some spots hurt a LOT (ankles) and some barely hurt (tops of thighs). I try to remember to take an Advil before going. Or ask her to turn down the machine a bit if it hurts too much in certain spots. Most places offer you numbing cream, but i've never bothered to use it. It's the kind of pain that really only hurts for a second or two.
Have you tried threading? if yes, would you say that the pain is almost like threading? :) I'm just really curious! I'm thinking about getting one but im so scared of the pain!
Yes! Very much like threading!
So worth it for me, but I detest shaving because it’d always leave me stubbly, and had a lot of ingrowns. And really cba shaving my legs every two days.
I epilate every 2 weeks. Been doing it bit over a year. Gets less and less hairs, and they are lighter and thinner for some reason.
Was painful first time. But grit my teeth and got through it. It’s never been that bad since. But only worth it if you dislike shaving. (And love smooth legs.)
Ive done laser hair removal and epilated. Epilating is nothing compared to layering. It feels like rubber band snapping at your skin. So painful but I guess it depends where you have it done. I had my bikini area lasered. So I still epilate my legs. The problem with laser hair removal is it may take a whole lot of sessions. I had 6 or 7 sessions and am still not completely hair free. There is a significant difference tho.
hi! i have a question, do you use the cool fix everyday? like before you epilate, then after you epilate, next day rub some on and the day after that too?
with the remington epliator, it says you can use it on your face, i'm naturally a blond but i'm not sure if i should shave/ remove hair on my face or anywhere else other than my legs and underarms because hair grows back thicker and darker (currently all my hair is fine and white/translucent)
Thank you!
I am in the middle of getting laser hair removal for my underarms and bikini area. I love it so far, about half way through the full course but only have 10% hair remaining. I would love to get my arms and legs lasered some time in the future, but until then I may just go with an epilator.
aww thanks!
How to do you expoliate your skin? Like to reduce ingrown hair, i'm used to waxing and i had some ingrown hairs
I believe you just call them, i've heard its a very quick process, no hassle
Do you ever find that because you have dark hair that when you shave, it never looks as clean? That's one of the main reasons why I like to epilate!
I want to buy one, but I'm scared of the ingrown hairs you were talking about because I looked it up online and they look scary. So I might have to rethink this whole thing...
