#CarandDrivingCarReviews You’re throwing around the old adage of “having the rear engine slung out behind the back”, which is not correct for the 911 versions starting with the 991, from this generation the rear axle has been moved out considerably to position the engine more forward, so it’s technically mid engined now.
I had a 991.2 C4S, it was a boring motor. I traded that for a CTS4 V BW, but wanted a 911 again so I got a 991.1 C4S manual and it’s so much better with character than the 991.2.
@@lexden1 Strange because my 991.1 GTS was available as 2015 and 2016 models. Now it could be that a 2017 model is produced in the last few months of 2016 as most manufacturere do. The production may be in 10/2016 but it is a 2017 model.
@@SebastianPetitti Out of curiosity, what month in 2016 was it produced? That info can be found on the label on the driver's side when you open the door.
Shit my Yugo with 20" rims will drive circles around them Porsche's..BTW there's nothing " conventional " about a Cayman.. 2nd BTW NA is way better than your stupid turbos. And electric steering SUCKS
We all have opinions, even if they're clearly wrong. Cayman not conventional? Seriously? NA better than turbos, in what way? The 991.1 3.8 makes a SLIGHTLY better noise but the torque increase from the turbos, with MINIMAL lag makes that a no brainer. I imagine those are remarks from a position of envy, but you do you.....
A genuinely excellent video and very useful to an imminent 991.2 C2S/C4S buyer! Thanks.
Glad it helped!
excellent report on the most respected Porsche ever built
Saw one of these yesterday! Coincidence.
Thorough and excellent review - thanks.
Glad it was helpful

Adding Turbo to previously NOT turbo cars is blasphemy imho. Taking away the essence of a911. Someone you never touch?!

The challenge is also the AWD, which makes them heavier and less nimble. If you want not boring the C2 manual is your best option.
Why are so many videos of older cars that have been superceded
Because they’re accessible (cheaper) to enthusiasts. Not everyone who has a new 992 can be bothered to do a video on it or typically has the time
The "switch to turbocharging" was made in the 991.2 models in 2017, not 2016.
I have a 2016 991.2

I own a 2016 991.2 and pretty sure I have two turbos in my c4s

I've seen plenty of 3L turbos on a 2016 plate.
