1:49 he actually had a vintage tv before (like when he was friends with Alastor shown in the photo of them together). Idk if he would stay in his roots since I’ve interpreted their beef as Vox climbing the corporate ladder changing his appearance, etc to fit whatever is current while Alastor sticks to what he knows. Vox is constantly advancing and wants to stay up to date.
This is nothing against your interpretation. This is just something silly I wanted to add (I sound like a nerd ik😭). I love the static tv tie though. Vivzie gives a lot of characters bow ties even if it wasn’t necessarily popular in their time,

Furthermore, his suit is a copy of Alastor's, just with a different color scheme. He tries to set himself as different and better than lame ol' outdated Alastor, while desperately trying to emulate him. It's subtle but well conveyed, but completely lost in this redesign.
@@poppyasher idk if Voxs suit is a copy of Alastor's (mostly because a lot of characters have suits. I think Vivzi really likes suits). But Vox probably tries to emulate him

As a huge Emily fan who loves her Seraphim theme, but not so much her clothes, I would LOOVVVEEEE to see your interpretation of her 🥺 unpopular opinion but I think Heaven is so much prettier and diverse in colors than hell is
@@HonestyisCools ikr? Between the cherubs different designs, the seraph’s very gray color scheme, and the exorcists being much darker, it just all makes such a difference. I feel like the difference in colors between classes (winners and cherubs being very pastel, while exorcists and seraphim are much more monochromatic) could’ve been so cool to see in Hell

Also everyone saying ‘they’re red because the ring is red’ .. no. Because vox is mainly blue. Carmilla is mainly white and grey, that one Dino chick overlord (which means she’s in the pride ring) is pink and green- and zestial is black and yellow. They all belong in the pride ring though because they’re all sinners who died.
Zestial is black and green, also I agree. The whole "hell is red" excuse is annoying, like first off not everyone’s favorite color is red same goes for the characters in hazbin hotel, also pride is purple not red. Although Viv made it red cause it’s her favorite color it’s still not red

4:44 my head canon was always that Velvette was very interested in the supernatural and haunted things growing up, specifically, haunted dolls, which ultimately resulted in her death, and her spawning in hell somewhat resembling a doll. This is the first time I’ve seen someone redesign her to look more doll like; I love it! 🎉

I honestly agree with you on the fact that pilot Vox's design looks wayyyy better, and it's bcs he looks more menacing with the darker color scheme and the reds and the blues being the only colors that glow, and having Vox with a smile like Alastor makes him appear more like a villan. But the reason why vox doesn't look like he's from the time period he's in is bcs he wants to keep improving himself to keep up on whatever's trending (like any other youtubers, brands etc wich is just sad💀) but then again i honestly like your design better too bcs it really shows he's from the 50s and he definitely has that greedy businessman look, that and also bcs i prefer 50s clothings. Your redesign is definitely a 10/10

8:33 I mean to be fair, you gave Valentino a burnt orange shade of red rather than a bland crimson, or the specific shade of red-pink most of the characters have in canon. It's different enough to be fine, honestly.
Love your designs on the three V's, I would love to see your take on the Helluva Boss seven sins, don't forget Lucifer sin he represents Pride, maybe add Lilith too.

Love your art style! When you mentioned that every poc character is gray and made velvette darker to her actual skin tone that’s when I instantly subscribed 😭 as a poc myself it’s so disappointing to see artists being scared of colours bro
I love these designs, but, something I’d like to say is that some of the characters look maybe a little.. too human..Like, don’t get me wrong, human characters are cool. But, your form as a demon needs to resemble a human. Not actually be a human. What I’d recommend for Velvette is maybe giving her some more, doll-like traits. Maybe make the hue of her skin more monochrome while keeping the shade the same, as to not whitewash her like what people do when trying to draw characters on occasion. I feel like if a character had lighter/darker skin while alive, their complexion as a demon should be the same shade, but a different color hue. Valentino looks AMAZING, same with Vox, but I’d change Vox colors to have more blue/aqua colors, (but you keeping red in his design is cool too, so it’s 100% fine) and Valentino, everything about his design is spectacular. I’d change his color to be a dark pink or purple color, but red looks cool too. Anyways, EPIC!

4:07 i always just kinda assumed she was from the time when technology was becoming more advanced and when there were more fashion trends, I just really got that from in her song respectless she sings how shes the back of the vees, and theres all that technology behind her.
It gave the vibe that she was from the time technology was more advanced/popular so she understands the Internet kinda stuff more. And she is into fashion given how much she changed her outfit/hair style and how there was one episode she was changing the clothing for once demon

Okay Vox’s redesign is definitely my favorite. (OTHER THAN VAGGIE, you made her gorgeous.) The colors are smart and I honestly prefer him without the top hat anyway.
I do think Velvette is supposed to be a doll and her era is from the 2000’s. In her pilot design I think she did originally have a tutu, (or a really frilly skirt idk), and the sewing’s pins in her hair are SOO creative wish more people would think of that.
Finally with Valentino I’m not a personal fan of him but I do think he has a pretty good design. And with yours though- uh, I don’t think I can forgive you man I can’t get past the red it looks odd 😭. But I do like how you actually GENUINELY designed his wings (unlike a certain show creator). The only thing I’d change (other than all the red) is just bringing back some of the hearts on his fur and antenna, and maybe change his teeth back to its color too. BUT I like the face hearts they’re cute and makes his shiny bald head a little less empty. 👍

The thing with Valentino is I like is his potential to show a sinner that is truly evil since we have no info on what brought any of the characters in hell and they are only shown as victim wich, no, Angel was part of the mafia and probably took part in kidnapping, torture and murder but none of that is adressed in the show wich, since it's about redemption, would be important. Then again I ain't no simp and this man is truly awfull but I hoping for a truly evil and scary vilain that could offer nuance and depth to the idea of redemption.
Overall I really liked those design espescially Vox, I love a vintage Tv look

I love Vox’s outfit change. It looks a lot better than just. Zebra ahh stripes. Like you said the Tv head is what was carrying Vox. They do have a vintage tv picture in the background showing that he was once that :(. GIVE IT BACK. GIVE IT BAAAAACK! Also velvet is booooring! The doll looks nice since they are more than just a person. The doll looks nice. The pointy fellas (I forgot what they where called) in her ears are nice too. Val looks better since i didn’t know Val was a moth until after a watched the series. So I was just looking at him the whole time like 👁️👄👁️ “✨bALd MAn✨”

My thing with Valentino is that i wish you kept the asymmetrical antenna. It implies one was damaged, and i enjoy that visual atorytelling in his design.
Amd as for Vox, theres a scene where you can see a photo of him and Alastor when they were friends, and he indeed has the box tv head. The thought i has in regards to the choice for him yo have a flat screen is part of the root of his beef with Alastor. Vox wanted to innovate, improve technology, including altering who he is down to his very essence. Thus Alastor is the one "stuck in his ways", for example, his refusal to do anything with video could be just as much his frustration with people moving on from radio to newer tech as it is to do with Vox.
Great redesigning all around, your art is really nice to look at, and i like the angle you came from for why you decided to give Vox the box tv head, as a superiority complex, "im the only one who can be true to myself, showing im the source of all this innovation, it started with ME." And using him almost as a time period marker. Amd thus his beef with Alastor being the cowboy cliche "this town aint big enough for the two of us"

How I hate Valentino and yet you make a great design too, I was surprised because I always saw that he made his skin purple but this time I saw it red, I also love the design of vox, very different from other redesigns that are more futuristic, I would have liked it to have had some shark features, but I honestly love your redesigns!!

One of the rules that sometimes apply to the characters is their death and whole life effects what they look like in hell, like in helluva boss the kid who dies at the lake side camp thing he has a water theme cause he died near it, which makes me wonder how moths were involved in Val's death like did he r@pe a entomologist who stuffed his mouth with moths till he suffocated cause if that the case heck yeah well deserved ✨
