I would like to ask if taking a bile supplement would help me be able to eat whole grains again. As I said in another post, I had my gallbladder removed and therefore can't eat whole grains. If I do eat whole grains, I'll just say that it has a disastrous effect on me (the same w/hot spices).

Heads up people. She's not going to "tell" you what to do, or what choice to make. She's giving you information so that you can make the healthiest choices for yourself. Everyone's needs are different. That being said, what I understood is that Sprouted bread is best. Whole grain is best. High fiber that's not from cellulose. If you are diabetic multiply the total carb by the fiber.... you want a number that is 5 or greater. Her video's are some of the most informative I've ever found and I am typically research intensive. She's teaching me things I didn't know. And I am profoundly grateful. At the end of the day, only you can make the choices, that you decide are best for you. With her information, that process is much easier.

    1. Whole grain Rye bread
    2. Whole multigrain bread
    3. Whole wheat bread
    4. Sourdough bread
    5. White bread
MY own two cents...Pumpernickel bread has also been shown to not increase glucose levels by as much as other breads.

Hello. I am the Director of Brand Development for Simple Kneads, a gluten-free sourdough bread that you mentioned in your video. A customer sent the video over to us and they were confused. I watched it and I am also confused on how you came to your conclusions. Which ingredient in the bread is not whole grain? We don't use any refined grains, no starches, fillers or gums. Which are, as you rightly said, common in gluten-free breads. Also, a bit more clarity for you regarding the psyllium; You are right that it is high in fiber, and most people need more fiber, however this is not why it is in our bread. Psyllium is a natural binder that works amazingly well. Most gluten-free grains have little to no binding characteristics. So when making gluten-free bread you have to find something natural to bind it. Since we are not using starches, fillers or gums, we use 100% whole grain organic psyllium. If there are any further insights that I am missing, please advise.

    • @sandyduncan6167
      @sandyduncan6167 4 місяці тому +22

Bread companies add psyllium as a binder because gf grains need something to help with binding. . You make them sound like theyre nefariously adding it to artificially boost fiber solely for the number on the nutrition panel. I would like to know how you obtained your nutrition education, because everyone knows medical schools spend about a half hour on it, and thats all.

I have been making sourdough this year and now wondering if the dark rye is the best and einkorn flour, I bought whole wheat flour and that requires more hydration because of the husk? Is the whole grain gonna cause higher sugars to absorb? Is it a lower glycemic? Can a make a healthier homemade bread for my family? Thanks in advance! KellyB

6:29 psyllium husk is not just a laxative, it’s a seed where the husk is made of fiber which is phenomenal at holding water, hence trapping moisture in the bread. When the bread bakes the water expands thereby “fluffing “ up the bread in the absence of gluten threads which basically do the same thing.

I really appreciate that you take the time to educate the masses. I was pre-diabetic with a Ha1c of 5.9 for two decades. My doctor retired and my new doctor talked to me about the importance of fixing it. I reduced my ha1c to 5.5. I'm still working on it. I also lost 27 pounds, and have kept it off for over two years and still going.

With so many examples, animations flashing on and off the screen which are a distraction, along with sound affects that make it more confusing. Food selection struggled, now better than ever. Turns out quiting large amounts of toxic white goo accelerates fasting/keto results. Throw in easy high efficiency targeted posture restoration and mobility exercises and it's life changing. Best video I've seen lately regarding the heart of America's nutrition crisis.

Even something I can screenshot. In this one in particular, I was hoping for maybe your top 3 breads that I could go out and buy today, without having to do many more hours of research on finding the right bread. This is really great info . Thank you . I have a strange allergy . And that is to the sharp bran on wheat. So I cannot eat whole wheat or bran from wheat in any form. So I do try and eat rye as that doesn't bother me. But bread these days is very pricey and on a limited pension income is not always affordable but for the chaper ones. I try to keep a close eye on inflammation so despite some sugars and carbs I manage to keep it balanced. I also ride a stationary bike for 30 minutes most days. Adding a Boron supplement for my knee trouble has really helped keep inflammation down as well. And I try to get lots of sleep. And I love buckwheat. which is nutrient dense. I have found I need carbohydrates in our cold prairies climate. Oh yes that info on cold bread was very interesting . I do freeze my bread to shop less but is good to know. I think the rye I eat might not be whole rye but it seems to be adequate. However any suggestions would be helpful for any other kind of bread that would work for me?

Keto vs paleo vs low carb vs low fat vs plant based etc. with everyone giving reasons why they are right and everyone else is wrong. And also a lot of people saying our food pyramid recommendations are wrong. Doctors, even though they are very knowledgeable on illnesses don’t seem to have much education on nutrition unless they get educated themselves outside of med school.

I know that not all sourdough bread is made the same and if it’s from a bakery it generally doesn’t come with a list of ingredients. Thank you, I appreciate your detailed and helpful videos. There is A LOT of great info to unpack here, so much so that it's difficult to take it all in once through, and most of us don't have time to watch it over and over again to ensure that we comprehend and make note of all the important points, do's and don'ts, etc. The timestamps are helpful, but as others have stated, a summary of sorts or a checklist would be great too. Furthermore, the sound effects and constantly changing special effects were loud and distracting and made an otherwise informative and interesting video cartoonish and more difficult to follow. Instead of the ever-changing random pictures being flashed, listing out the info you're discussing would be more helpful and allow us to pause the video to make notes or even easier, take screenshots as we go along.
    Thanks again!

I believe that the problem with going off a ketogenic diet has to do with your body no longer being used to processing sugar. Not necessarily with eating fat. I did a low fat version of the Atkins diet years ago and ate only low fat meats and no dairy. When I ate corn a couple of months later, I really suffered from it because my body no longer knew how to process high carb stuff.
I now no longer eat sugar, white flour, ultra processed stuff, and vegetable oils. Mostly whole fruits and vegetables and lean meats.
