    I've been an s pen lever since the Note 3 and can't live without it. I still learned something new about the device I love so much. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks so much for this video! I had a duplicate S pen at home and using it daily for college I always wondered what was in there and if you could put it in a (more attractice) larger old pen. Thanks to your video I figured out how to open it and what I need to ensure in the new casing that it works

    This videos are so important to understand how the S21 Ultra works and how any s pen can be used on the phone not just the s21 s pen! Can't believe 8 years later this becomes useful to me! well done!

    I really wanna ask you, my note 2 has the new s note, and i've tried drawing in s note and sketchbook for galaxy...with my finger, and it has the pressure sensitivity!
    eventhough it's not as that accurate with s pen because obviously it's still finger, but it shows the pressure well..even has a better pressure than the s pen (really, it can go thicker than the s pen since i tried pressing it as hard as it could with the same point)
    so i wonder if it's the same with samsung newer device and if that's the case, then the s pen just really add "additional" features such as air command on note 3. i mean it's going to be useless feature then if the pressure is in the screen, and newer device like s5 can handle air view and has the touch sensitivity for make things like pencil or key to operate the phone. so that's what i think, i bought it because it has the pressure sensitivity for drawing then i just found out this later

    The trigger for the removal of the S-pen is actually another magnet, housed in the "cap." Source: I've got my S Pen apart in front of and can see it. I'm also using to trigger the notification on my tablet w/o the rest of the stylus.

    so technically if you just use that and power it with a very smal battery, then that means that it should would with any device right? {assuming that you have the low power bluetooth and stuff to connect to it}

    Something else to consider.... It's common to buy a fold-able leather-like case for the Note4. If you buy one with a magnet closure it will affect the sensitivity of the pen on the screen when you have the case folded all the way back and resting on the back of the phone. It creates an area that is less sensitive to the touch of the S-Pen due to competing magnetic fields. I thought my Note4 was defective at first until a did more research. Your video was part of that research. THANKS for posting the more detailed info, though the simpler version also confirmed my suspicions. Thanks, DAVE

    +Alex Tacescu I'm not sure if he mentioned it in his video but the phone and pen use Wacom technology. This is the same stuff they use on tablets used on PC's that designers/artits use to 'draw' on the computer. There is no bluetooth involved. And these pens don't work with any other touch screen unless they have Wacom. Captive screens sense fingers but they will ignore an S-Note pen.

  • @billyscanlon1113
    @billyscanlon1113 8 років тому

    From what I've experienced, the phone knows whether the S Pen is in the phone or not by means of magnets.
    When the S Pen is out of my phone, and the bottom corner of the device gets too close to a magnetic source, say, an iPad cover, when I remove the phone from its place next to the iPad cover, it will pop up with Action Memo, which I have set to come up when S Pen is removed.

    It is safe. Nothing is wrong. If you used S-Note, you can adjust thickness of the line by applying preasures on the screen by the pen. It move so that user can apply or reduce the preasure.
