Building Cardinal & Robin Birdhouse

Making a simple robin nest box. This is a simple pallet or fence boards wood project that can also be done with basic Hand tools.

Nicely done sir. I'm smiling thank you :) I'm just beginning woodworking with driftwood and I think Bird condos for all those balconies in all those skyscrapers here in Seattle is a fine place to start! Lots of pigeons, gulls, crows, but not many song birds left as I think not many safe places to raise their young. I'm hoping to change that.

Thanks for the video and idea. I just did one old cedar wood and pre-drill holes and screws. I left my sides straight. Now under garage eve on back waiting for a bird to make home of it.

I bought my wood at one of the big box stores and it was cedar fence boards 5 1/2 wide and 6 ft long. I paid $2.60 for each board. Please subscribe to my UA-cam channel. And thanks for watching.

@@forresltadair I’m pretty sure cedar isn’t that cheap. I tried that same wood and found out it was not cedar. I’ll say I got mine at Home Depot. It’s a orangeish color with a cedar scent.

We have cardinals and mockingbirds in our area. This year the crows came in and raided all of their nests. We want to protect them more. Thanks for the tutorial. I think I heard a cardinal calling in the background close to the beginning of your video - right on que! 👍🏼

@@peggypatrick2730 The best place to put the birdhouse is on a garden wall where there are bushes or maybe under the eve of the house or any place where there is a cluster of bushes that hide the birdhouse. I just put the birdhouse on a tree to show you what it look like but I actually put it in some bushes on the side of the house
