    This stew look so yummy!! And that pressure cooker is awesome. Never seen one like that. It looks like a mini microwave with all the settings haha :D . Been trying to get the raw black beans to cook since a while but they were not available. Will have to check out at the shop again.

    If i use black beans from the can will it come out tasting the same as using dried beans?

    • @Veganlovlie
      @Veganlovlie  6 років тому +2

      Yes, you can use black beans from the can, but since canned beans are already cooked, you can cook them in a pan, you don't need a pressure cooker for this. The one that I've used in the video is dried soaked beans and it took around 45 minutes in total for the whole recipe to cook; the one from cans probably just need around 10 minutes cooking time only. I find the taste and texture of the dried beans cooked in the pressure cooker to be quite different from the canned ones. They are much tastier, but the canned ones do provide a delicious meal as well. Hope this helps Liz. (✿◕‿◕✿)

    Hello! I just found your channel yesterday and made these beans today. These are the best beans I have ever made! I found this recipe to be sweet, savory, and rustic... so good! I sautéed a half an onion with the chopped ginger in vegetable broth instead of oil and I used liquid aminos as a gluten free alternative for the soy sauce. Thank you so much for sharing and I look forward to trying more of your recipes. I would be interested in seeing additional pressure cooker recipes.

    You said it was open to residents of Canada, but now I see on your website "excluding Quebec" :( Why though :(
    #sad

    • @Veganlovlie
      @Veganlovlie  6 років тому +2

      Hi Emily. Many companies will often exclude residents of Quebec from sweepstakes not because they don't want to advertise in Quebec, or because they have something against the residents of that fine province. The reason why so many sweepstakes are void in Quebec is that the sponsors must follow a stringent set of laws set out by Quebec's "Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux," which governs alcohol, lotteries, contests, gambling, and more.
      Quebec sweepstakes law is designed to protect its residents and to ensure that prizes are awarded as promised, which is so important for sweepers. However, they also cost sweepstakes sponsors money and resources, and the consequences for making a mistake and violating them are severe.
      For example, in order for sweepstakes to be open to residents of Quebec, the companies sponsoring the sweepstakes must take some or all of the following steps:
      -- Register the sweepstakes rules and all advertisements used to promote the contest with the Quebec government at least 30 days ahead of the sweepstakes' launch.
      -- Pay a fee of up to 10% of the sweepstakes' value, depending on who is allowed to enter.
      -- Agree to allow the government of Quebec to mediate any lawsuits arising from the contest.
      -- Follow strict guidelines about the contents of the sweepstakes rules.
      -- Allow the Quebec government to determine if the sweepstakes may be changed or canceled once it has started.
      -- File a written report after the contest has concluded, attesting that the prizes have been delivered or attempted to be delivered.
      -- Agree to follow a number of other rules and guidelines.
      So, as you can see, it is not really in the hands of the sponsors or the organizers; the government of Quebec makes it really difficult when offering giveaways/sweepstakes/contests, thus many decide to simply exclude Quebec as it is easier this way. Hope this answers your question. - Kevin
