Girl, you’re already surpassing the bar. You have always put your girls first! A family with separated parents who are happy and can get a long is so much more beneficial to children than being unhappy and together. “Normal” family dynamics don’t actually mean you’re doing it “right”. You’re doing amazing!

Yasmyn, as a counselor, the emotional maturity you demonstrate in this video is exactly what I wish for all of my clients. Things could have turned out so differently for you, but you continue to choose the high road every time life throws something crazy at you. Proud of you!

I, as a counselor, feel this is sooo confusing for herself, the kids… being in a relationship again already… idk. Doesnt seem healthy in my opinion.

@jyoung6366 I think it’s important to look at the bigger picture here. Based on what she has shared about her childhood throughout the past few years, the odds were stacked against her. The fact that she isn’t using drugs after the things she witnessed/experienced as a kiddo is a huge accomplishment in and of itself. I can’t imagine anyone could have an upbringing like Yasmyn’s and emerge as an adult who magically has a life that society would deem “perfect”. However, she is consciously doing her best to break the cycle and do better than her parents did. THAT is what makes me feel so impressed and proud of her. As she navigates this complicated situation, she is obviously being very considerate of what is best for everyone involved. Her thoughtful reflection throughout this video demonstrated emotional maturity that I have to imagine was NEVER modeled for her as a child. She’s figuring out all of this on her own while navigating challenges that most of us will never be able to relate to. I think she’s doing a fantastic job given the circumstances and I wanted to leave a positive comment to show my support- as a counselor, surely you know the positive impact that a genuine compliment can have and use it consistently throughout your practice. ☺️

I’ve been watching you for years now! I love this video and how it’s about you, and your outlook. Social media is getting so so dangerous for kiddos and it’s just so toxic, I would hate for them to be subject to that, especially as Layla and the other girls enter into school. I would love to see more of you and videos like this as well as you branching off into podcast and music bc you have so much wisdom to give and I think you could be very successful especially with the platform you already have. As I have grown up with you, we’re the same age, I have realized how dangerous social media is, especially for kids who can’t make that decision or understand the potential outcomes of it. I just would love to see more of you, your life and even as a mom, but just without the kids.

loved this video! I coparent two of my kids and the guilt I feel sometimes can be crippling but I always have to come back to the truth that two happy homes is FAR HEALTHIER than one toxic/broken home. Coparenting can be done in a healthy way and it seems like you guys are doing a wonderful job at it. Don't let your mind go to that mom guilt space. You are such a genuine soul and are making the best choices for your girls

Girl, I’m proud of you for not staying in toxic cycles and being emotionally mature and aware enough to realize staying despite, despite, despite wasn’t healthy for anyone or a healthy family dynamic ultimately. Also proud of you for you not letting people shame you - they have not walked in your shoes and do not know the extent of your circumstances, they have no place to judge. Sending you happy healing vibes always 💜

What people don't understand is that even after the fact of having kids and stuff if you fall out of love with each other that it is way more toxic to try to be in a relationship that you aren't happy in and fight all the time then to make co parenting work and actually be happy, hope that makes since!! Love you and I hope you and your family are well!!

My friend for co parenting, decided they won’t move from the house their kids were raised at, instead they kept the house they bought, but are renting an apartment where either the mother or father will stay at whenever it’s not their “turn” to be with their kids. Whenever it’s their “turn” they stay at the house they bought together just so there isn’t much of a bigger change and different household for the kids so it isn’t as confusing since their parents are divorced. Some things work for others and some don’t, and that’s completely ok

You are putting your kids first, your mom put her kids last and from what you have shared, she's never grown up. Staying together for your kids, absolutely not! It's not just toxic for you, it's toxic for your kids as well. Believe me, been the kid in that situation and it's so detrimental. You know what you’re doing for your life better than anyone but jumping into a relationship that quickly after your pervious relationship ended is definitely not the smartest thing. When leaving a relationship your whole life changes and so do your emotions and feelings, and it stays that way for a very long time before you find yourself again and jumping into a new relationship is very dangerous for yourself and your kids. I just hope all goes well and you REALLY know what you’re doing because relationship to relationship becomes a toxic codependent cycle that does a lot of mental harm in the future.

I haven’t been in a serious relationship since my daughter was born 5 years ago and although I don’t desire to date for the purpose of marriage, I do really want to date for myself and so that I can fulfill some of what I feel like is missing in my life, but without the long term planning and commitment. It’s hard to being people into your life and your kids lives, especially when things haven’t worked out in the past so for me personally, if I’m dating for fun, I wouldn’t introduce that person to my kids, ever. I think she’s lucky that this person and her kids already know each other. It makes it easier to have that person around and live a more simpler life, without your children being confused and questioning everything. Happy that that’s how things worked out for her rather than the complete opposite white is harder to navigate through.

This is what happens kids play house. You didn’t realize the responsibility is actually is and now you have not only 1, but 3 children.
I know you never plan on breaking up, but children are involved. Not even mentioning that that children of teen parents most likely get pregnant as teens. You both also showed, that it is ok get pregnant as a teen intentionally.
With that being said I think it’s better that you broke up rather than suffer together and with children, all I’m saying is that partially you “asked” for it by jumping into the stuff you were too young for.
UA-cam is temporary, content based on children is temporary and gives materials to predators and perverts. Not even talking about the fact that it’s borderline abuse. They cannot consent and don’t understand what potential consequences are
Time to grow up. Go to therapy, you need that. To not to respect your parents’ mistakes, to not to get into another toxic relationship and to be a mom your kids deserve and heal your inner child.
I wish you all the best Yasmin. And to Logan

Has Yasmyn specified what the "toxic" dynamics, patterns, or topics were in her relationship with Logan? I'm honestly curious and confused because from the content that was presented to us publicly, it's difficult to identify. I understand that content is curated but Yasmyn was the person editing her own content and presenting us with a narrative of her own choosing for monetized consumption. If it's difficult to believe and trust that their relationship was authentically "toxic", it's because of how she characterized him and how he conducted his speech and behavior on camera and in life. Yasmyn would be better able to use her life experience to help others learn or bestow wisdom if she clarified specifically why she identified their relationship as "toxic". That word choice is extremely powerful rhetoric. It paints Logan in a very negative and unhealthy light. She's using the word "obvious" a lot but its not obvious to me and I'm confident others are confused too. Their relationship was consistently depicted as healthy and the extreme change now begs the question why is the word "toxic" accurate and warranted? Our views provided money for them to richly provide for themselves and their children for years. Its fair and valid to ask.

Coming from a family where my parents stayed together way longer than they should have....it's better that you ended things when you did. I actually made a short film where I had a character inspired by my mom actually get to work with a therapist (an opportunity my mom never had) that helped the character make the decision to leave her toxic relationship. My parents should have gotten divorced when I was a baby but they never did. And I've been living the consequence for that my entire life. My parents live in the same house but we aren't a family, just coexisting. They don't speak to each other and when they do they just argue. I can see how unhappy my mother is because she stayed with my father. I wish and wish that my parents got divorced when I was younger because now im almost 22 and the damage has been so badly done for me. Hi Yasmyn, first off just wanted to say i love your videos and you are so strong for everything you have been through. But I’m just curious, did you and Logan ever go to couples therapy? I feel like maybe that could have helped with you two understanding each other’s feelings.

At the very least, you should seek out therapy for yourself, even if your husband doesn’t join you. A therapist can better help you work through your feelings and help you figure out your options. And who knows, maybe your husband will become more open to the idea of couples therapy if he sees you going every week to a therapist for yourself and hears you openly talk about the help they are providing you. If he eventually decides to join you, great, if not, then at least you have a safe place where you can get advice from an unbiased professional and open up about what you are truly feeling.
