@@hintssabbatJokić didn't have that much of a better night in Game 1 when Rudy did play. His counting stats were good, but he shot way below his usual efficiency and committed 7 turnovers. Not to mention Game 6. KAT defending Jokić allows Rudy to roam, so it's not like Rudy isn't part of the scheme.

I’ve always thought of Rudy as a modern day mutumbo. You take what you can get with him offensively. They’re there for defense. That may be part of the problem, his offensive struggles have been so noticeable that people expect him to be like you said about perfect defensively.
Plus the fact he just won the DPOY over wemby who had a strong backing for it. Every mistake he makes is going to be highlighted that much more.

It's easier to defend someone when you got Gobert as the help defender (literally how he won DPOY 4x) and you don't need to worry about assists from Jokic's teammates. In MLB a great pitcher can shutdown an elite hitter. In basketball great offensive players will always get theirs no matter how good the defender

TBH, I'm on the executive side on this. It's easy to see and understand a great offensive player. The Curry and Lebron of the world. Casuals can see that shit without even watching the game. Its easy to see why Curry is great because he's dropping 40 on 40% 3pt every other nights.
But for defensive specialists like Gobert, you need the advance stats and the eye tests and the nitty gritty guys to speak up for you, or you get no respect. Because defense isn't sexy, it doesn't pop up in the stat sheet. When Gobert just stood there and defended 1v3 against a fast break and caused a turn over by his damn self, that shit doesn't appear in the box score, nobody gave a shit, but that was some nutty, game winning impact right there.
And in this case, the haters are way more out of line than the glazers. At least the glazer back it up with stats and actually watch the fucking game. The haters just show themself as ignorant box score watchers.

Gobert made Minnesota the number one defensive team by far. It gave KAT the opportunity to play at 4 and avoid the responsibility of protecting the paint. That's why analysts voted for him.
Wemby has a great future, but he hasn't had the best SEASON. You must observe the entire SEASON, not just the last 3 months.
His stats and his impact before and after the ASG are not the same bro. That's why he is not the DPOY, he will probably win soon, but not this YEAR.
