helloo I was doing my project and I switched rpi 4 model b off and on pretty quick and since then it stopped working. I cant find ping anymore or connect to it. please help I really have to do my project soon 😭😭😭😭
Hi there! That sounds like a handful 😵 Before trying to ping it, I would first hook it up to a display for basic troubleshooting... Are you seeing anything on the screen having HDMI connected to it? If not, what is the pattern of the flashes you're seeing?
@ArcadeSpinner I'm not seeing anything on the screen. I don't see any pattern, it flickers for 5-10mins and the green light is turned on uniformly. I also can't connect it to my WiFi at all. I've flashed the sd card multiple times 😭 I cant afford another rpi
Hello! My name is Gaston, I'm from Argentina. I bought a raspberry pi 5. I connected it to its official charger, and since I received it, it always gives a constant red LED light, but it never gives another light, even if I change the charger to a cell phone charger. It should be noted that I tried with several SSDs, even the bootloader, and nothing happens... Do you have any possible solution to this?
Hi Gaston! Sorry to hear you're having issues on a new Raspberry Pi 5 😩... Here are two things I'd recommend you try with your situation: 1.) Try updating your bootloader as shown here in the official docs: www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/raspberry-pi.html#update-the-bootloader 2.) What happens if you take out the SD card, disconnect all other storage devices (like your SSD), and then turn it on as is while keeping HDMI connected to a display? This typically brings up bootloader diagnostics and could help detect faults.
@@ArcadeSpinner Hi. same Error. I will try connecting to the HDMI (I usually use it with SSH through LAN cable) The problem started when I've tried to connect my HDD drive with a new SATA USB adapter (it is only for external storage. I use an SD card for system storage. Already tried another SD but without any success. Others power supplies same red light).
Hi there! That's an odd issue 🤔 Connecting with a different storage device shouldn't cause it to have any issues unless it is doing any kind of flashing or writing behind the scenes... To see if we can exhaust all other options before giving up: * You've tried with a different HDMI cable and other displays? * Double-checking the format scheme on the SD cards to ensure it's not using something invalid like NTFS?
@ArcadeSpinner Hi! Thank you for your reply. I'll check the format scheme, but I've formatted with Raspberry Imager, so it should be corrected... Regarding HDMI, I don't think the cable is the problem: the monitor sees that a signal arrives and then the void as if it were no longer connected, so it is likely that current arrives, but no signal. In addition, the USB does not do any reading or writing operations and even the LAN socket does not have any LED on... It stands staring at the red LED and that's it. I also tried to press the power button, but nothing... Does the solid red LED have any precise meaning or just that it does not start?
Hi there! 👋 Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your Raspberry Pi working. Is the green light flashing in a specific pattern or is it flashing irregularly? If it's the first case, it might be having trouble loading the OS and you may need to try flashing a new image. If this doesn't work, try a different SD card. In the second case, it could be the power supply that's either faulty, inadequate, or needs a different cable.
Hey! So, Im confused and struggling a little, (raspberrypi 4b) My red power light is at a constant red (so good, according to your video) with the green light, its blinking green, ONCE every THREE seconds. (Prior to this, I had to open config in boot and replace dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d with dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d for the hdmi signal to even show)
Hi there! Sorry to hear you're seeing this issue on your Raspberry Pi 4b. Unfortunately, that sounds like an internal hardware failure... There is an additional process you can try: flashing the EEPROM. If you wish to go this route, you can: 1.) Grab the Raspberry Pi Imager tool here: www.raspberrypi.org/software/ 2.) Click 'Choose OS' 3.) Under 'Misc Utility Images', choose Raspberry Pi 4 EEPROM boot recovery If the green LED starts flashing frequently at first, don't worry. If all goes well and this treatment is what your Raspberry Pi needed, it should revive it! Hope that helps 😃
@ArcadeSpinner hey! And thank you for the quick response! :) Internal malfunction?? It's brand new, that is such an inconvenience, I literally just got it yesterday. :/

@NeoAArmy Unfortunately, there are cases where an SBC can ship with an unknown defect. Thankfully, you should have a limited 12-month warranty for your device if you bought this from a reputable store.
That's weird that you're not seeing that option since I am 🤔 For a sanity check, the official docs state it should be available: www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/raspberry-pi.html#raspberry-pi-boot-eeprom If you still have trouble doing this from the Raspberry Pi Imager, you can also do the update manually (which is a bit more complex). In this case, you'd have to create the compiled libraries for EEProm using their official GitHub: github.com/raspberrypi/rpi-eeprom After that, you would use sudo raspi-config to do the actual update and that process is also documented here: www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/raspberry-pi.html#raspberry-pi-boot-eeprom Sorry you're having to go this route! 😫
Hi there! With a PiBoy DMG, this will be a different situation/signal. In this case, it's mostly because it's stuck before (or during) the bootloader phase. Have you tried to update/re-install the firmware? Typically, this whole process is documented at experimentalpi.com but unfortunately their website is down ATM 😐. In short, updating the bootloader *should* be worth a try to revive it!
hi there! i have an odd situation, my raspB PI 5 it dosen't boot, i have already check the sd card on another rasp and it have a good image of SO, but in this RaspB whit or whithout SD card the green led flash once long and twice short flashes, and nothing hapen.. do you have some aproach to solve this??
Hi there! That *does* seem to be an odd situation. I don't see any documentation specifically on the '1 long flash and 2 short flashes' combination for the Raspberry Pi 5... 🤔 The closest one I see is the situation I covered with 2 long flashes and 1 short flash, which indicates an invalid formatting scheme on the SD card. I understand you stated that the same storage device works on another Raspberry Pi you have but how about the model and firmware version?
Hi there! Sorry to hear you're having trouble booting up the Pi. To eliminate the possibility of any issues with the power supply, have you tried to do this using a different power cable and power source?
