No one is trying to fail students. If you start to think that they’re trying to fail you then you’ll struggle to pass as you’ll be riding angry and nervous.
Remember a lot of people fail at the speed trap, just belt it ! You will be fine …. It usually happens because people look at the speedo then come off the power a little too soon… a split second off that power and then engine breaking will drop you a good 5-7 mph.. just keep power on and go higher than you need
Idk if this is a new thing. But I was 6mph to slow and the give me a 2nd go. And that wasn't because I sucked them off before hand, it was just a thing .
Failed my Mod1 two days ago 😢 after 4 days trg, I got a call night before test to say they've had mishap with my bike. Had half hr before test on a taller bike, it fell on top of me but still went to test..mirror fell off half way through uturn and I put foot down..passed everything else ok so now trying to pick myself up..good luck to everyone out there, you're doing great to keep at it

Keep the speed good and steady and counter steer, don't be afraid to counter steer any sized machine and it will reward you with the tighest of u turns.
i failed my mod 1 the other day. was faultless up to the u turn (last exercise) did my checks and pulled off (gust or crosswind hit me) i caught the bike as it went left and completed the turn without putting my foot down. Unfortunately, when i caught the bike i went on the white line which is indicating where the curb would be, counted as mounting the pavement, major fault -fail. booked back in for the 29th
Big respect for showing your failures. You are a real man for this and a lot of people can learn from you. Respect! I will be doing mod 1 and 2 very soon and I am learning from you.

I failed my mod1 today! Everything was going perfect and the speed i did was 64km/h but on the last exercise, hazard avoidance, i touched the blue cone.... I went home and had a very decent cry and felt like I've failed myself!! I've booked another test which is in two weeks time but its just extra expenses... And i really wanted to do it first time! I was just not careful enough.
fkkk unlucky on that :( dont let it beat you up though! Get back out on it, and smash it next time, sucks though as you gotta hire the bike for 3 hours as the test is only £15 too :/
Good U turn in this video, big tip , get the revs up, use the clutch only and some break break to keep stable, as you turn, look down the road and keep head up, it will stop you putting the foot down
Remember when your finished it’s still exam conditions so make sure you kick that kick stand a few times, hold the front break in whilst you dismount and ensure it’s neutral… it ends once your off

Despite being long time since the videos being made, a lot of people fail on the last exercise,including myself being 1mph less than the speed requirement both attempts and on my second attending was on the edge a bit but managed to pass it within the requirements from second attempt. Key point to be made is never to underestimate anything as it can be your fall which we dont want.
Just to let up some confusion. I did fail by 1kph, cause I was made to do it on 2nd attempt even tho my speed was 1mph off target the first time. I passed the 2nd time but I had a bad crash so I'm out for upto 12 months so got to get mod 2 done soons I'm better
You need to re-check. You can be up to 2mph below and it's classed a minor fault. You can have up to 5 minor faults and still pass. Furthermore, if you fail any speed test by more than 2mph you get asked if you'd like to try it again, this classes as 1 minor fault. If you failed your test on this video, it was for much more than what was uploaded.
Maybe he failed by not looking left an right before he moved off for his you turn as i agree if it was 1kph or mph he would be asked to give a second try at the least.

Thanks for showing a real test in its entirety. Pretty confident with my maneuvers, but the speed requirement is the thing I'm most worried about. My bike is a very old CBF125 and it is not a powerful machine, nor does it accelerate fast. I'm worried about looking at the speedometre to check I've got the speed while also performing the maneuver. I strongly suspect my speedo is wrong as well and reads higher than my actual speed - there are a couple of those digital signs that tell you your speed near me and they never seem to match up to what my bike's telling me! Think I'm just going to have to belt it and hope I reach the required speed so I can concentrate on the maneuver. Anyway, glad to see you passed second time and hope you're fully recovered from your accident!
@flippy5118 I guess only real reason is to gain the ability to ride a 125 on motorways and carry a pavilion on the back... downside is you restricted to a 125cc. If you do it, may as well do it on a bike with 595cc+ Engine and have no restrictions. Only thing is I'm pretty sure you are also restricted by Age so he could be still too young to ride a 600cc
No observations after emergency stop. Also video cut after examiner talking after emergency stop and as engine put into gear and revving, no observations. Very useful video to watch though, thanks for uploading
failed mine twice first time emergency stop (skidded but didnt feel it until the last second was soaking wet pissing it down) 2nd time u turn ( target fixation) both times had miners but 3rd attempt did it with clean sheet no miners, first two times was with one examiner and 3rd with different both speed traps was 59kph, i know i had majors in both my 1st and 2nd but think if i had same examiner in third i would have had miners, all depends on the examiner,
Dunno why people make it hard on themselves when moving the bike square to square. Take it straight out backwards. Then stop, go forward into a u turn so it’s then facing the other way with the rear pointing at the second box, then reverse into the box…. Look every time you change direction. Easy
Just did this today on a cg 125, the only faults 49 kmh on em stop and slight skid in rain, 46 kmh then 50 on 2nd go of avoidance. I was pretty surprised when he said pass. I think he liked the old cg125 to be fair!😂
Id say personally aslong as you controlled it mate the skid be fine, congrats on the pass mate! Probably did enjoy both the cg125 and your riding haha. Enjoy your mod 2 just ride as you normally would on your CBT just mirror checks and lane positioning
the exact thing happened to me just yesterday, gutted!! But I swear your speedo was reading 32 just as you went through the trap which should have been a pass. I guess the bike speed may have been off.
Speedos always over read by about 3mph minimum. This means the manufacturer is never at fault for a speeding ticket, you service the bike sooner, you think tyres last longer etc.
You can go slower and they give you another chance, I've seen people do it on the 3rd attempt, I failed mine 1st time as I clipped the cone on the avoidance. Fully passed and on the road now though 👍
Only get 2 attempts, the 2nd I done 35 but still failed me. I went back and past though, but crashed before MOD 2 and done my mod 2 with a broken ankle once I figured out how to walk again.
Its easyyyy. Just reach 32mph right before speed trap and hold it until he raises his arm. For the obstacle manoeuvre you just need to hit 32mph prior to speed trap and hold it until you reach speed trap let go do manoeuvre..
I failed the first time be because my foot touch the floor and 30 not 32. The second time I failed because my foot touch a cone right at the end. Waiting for my third and final test. If I don't pass that it. It to expensive.

Well…thanks for sharing, I suppose it’s a fair thing that if you forgot your life saver when doing the U turn on your test…out on the road, you may not get a second chance…..but in saying that, I thought you did well, albeit not a pass, the speed thing is in my opinion very picky, but…,pains me to say this….it’s the rules….mmm…..as a footnote, I passed my bike full licence back in 1979 on a mates bike in Aldershot….it was I’d say as piss poor as you could get…..I passed first time…..now, I’d not pass first time to be honest….I am returning after 42 years, biggest golden rule I have never forgotten even back then….the life saver… cheers
You can't actually. You're not allowed to ride it home if its your own vehicle. Haven't got the correct licence so it has to go in a van or trailer, can only be ridden on grounds. Otherwise I would have used my own bike to do the test at the time.
How did you fail im confused, i passed mine friday and u did better than me and was faultless .there was a guy before me who passed and was nowhere near as good as u . You would have passed easy in Plymouth where i am

That looked almost perfect to me, what did you fail on? All I can see is you missed one left and right check just after the emergency stop and your speed was just a little less than it should have been, for me that was a pass?

Failed mine today, put a foot down on the u turn. I don't know what happened but I gave up after that, I knew it was a fail. I was doing really well until the u turn. I thought the slalom and figure of eight were easy and I did a perfect straight line on the slow speed, I think the nerves were just building up. I didn't even bother to do the life savers after the balls up but I carried on to see how I would do on the speed trap. I failed to reach speed on the emergency stop after two goes but got a 53mph on the last avoidance run. I've booked another test for Friday at a different place but I'm not very optimistic, I was like you and hated the whole thing.
I failed on the speed check hazard. I was 1kph too slow. If you do your MOD 1 please do 35mph. I thought 32 was enough but the machines will always be 1-2mph wrong. I got 47kph so failed by half a mile ph lol stupid rules..
I had the exact same thing today it was raining bad which made it even worse, getting up to speed was impossible for me, instructor told me I done 28 mph, my Speedo said 30mph and I’ve just got an email saying I only did 24mph
@@2LXCKYY I went to fast on the emergency stop test loop. Tester just warned that i was very close to max speed and recommend i took the final avoidence loop a tad slower. Thanks to his advice i passed. Wish all testers were like that guy.
I’m confused. My “stop in the box” was 25mph and he asked if I wanted to try again, so I did. Hit 38. And the swerve was also too slow the first time and he asked if I wanted to try again, got 37 on the second. They can’t tell you what speeds you did as the time but they can show you and offer another attempt.
I think i did 58mph in the speed trap and came to an e stop within a couple of bike lengths. I had a brand new yamaha mt07 with abs. ABS is a cheat code. I'd recommend anyone doing mod1 to do with a class with brand new bikes

I just recently passed mine here in St Helens Paul the examiner was a really decent guy he explains everything in detail and he doesn't rush you.

It’s a bit of a joke it’s clear you’re a competent rider and they fail you for being 1mph under. Jobs worth’s by the sound of it

Your speedo doesn't show your real speed, it will be 3mph or so UNDER your real speed. You need it to show 35mph for these tests.

On your test do 35mph on the dashboard. Take a breather before you start, take as much time as you need. He's there to pass you

Why both doing your test on a 125? No point since you can drive it with a CBT. Do it on a bigger bike if you're going to do it at all.

I'm planning to do the A1 because I'm skint & don't want to pay to take lessons on a bigger bike that I can do for nothing on my 125.
I found it better not to look at speedo as its reads higher than it is, I gave it a little spurt of power mine was averaging 53 kmph

Don't do 32mph on dash lol. This is why i failed this one. 32 on dash is 29-31mph. Depending on the bike.

A CBT doesn't permit you to ride a 400cc or 650cc motorcycle. So no?

That looked almost perfect to me, what did you fail on? All I can see is you missed one left and right check just after the emergency stop and your speed was just a little less than it should have been, for me that was a pass?
He failed me on the speed trap. by half a mph lol, just do 35mph on the dash and you'll be sound
@@2LXCKYY that was really bad of the examiner, I passed on Monday with one minor for speed and I am sure I did worse than this guy.

Hi mate, I failed due to being too slow on the hazard avoidance, failed due to being 1mph under. Furious at the time.

I failed by 1kph, it's on my notes from DVSA, I'm confused to how I did personally. But that's the reason why I failed. I've passed it now though.
Sounds like you got 47km when 48km is a minor? I failed on the hazard avoidance doing 46km… frustrating

I don't see the point in it personally, but i done it the 2nd time with ease, pretty stupid he failed me. Anyway I had a near fatal crash few days after this and im awaiting to walk again and do my mod 2
I told the examiner the same after I passed. I told him the zigzag in and out of cones will come in handy if I was to get pissed and jump on my bike 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Failed my mod 1 nearly two years ago. Hated the whole experience. Will never ride again.
Failed mine today, put a foot down on the u turn. I don't know what happened but I gave up after that, I knew it was a fail. I was doing really well until the u turn. I thought the slalom and figure of eight were easy and I did a perfect straight line on the slow speed, I think the nerves were just building up. I didn't even bother to do the life savers after the balls up but I carried on to see how I would do on the speed trap. I failed to reach speed on the emergency stop after two goes but got a 53mph on the last avoidance run. I've booked another test for Friday at a different place but I'm not very optimistic, I was like you and hated the whole thing.

I failed on the speed check hazard. I was 1kph too slow. If you do your MOD 1 please do 35mph. I thought 32 was enough but the machines will always be 1-2mph wrong. I got 47kph so failed by half a mile ph lol stupid rules..

i went on my 125 and failed i could not get it to speed, also fail on emergency stop ,,is this reason you do test on quicker bike ?
On a 125 the speed through the trap is lower??
I had the exact same thing today it was raining bad which made it even worse, getting up to speed was impossible for me, instructor told me I done 28 mph, my Speedo said 30mph and I’ve just got an email saying I only did 24mph

Yeah you can go over. I didn't know that I was told 32mph but clearly the speed meters aren't calibrated
@@2LXCKYY I went to fast on the emergency stop test loop. Tester just warned that i was very close to max speed and recommend i took the final avoidence loop a tad slower. Thanks to his advice i passed. Wish all testers were like that guy.
I’m confused. My “stop in the box” was 25mph and he asked if I wanted to try again, so I did. Hit 38. And the swerve was also too slow the first time and he asked if I wanted to try again, got 37 on the second. They can’t tell you what speeds you did as the time but they can show you and offer another attempt.
He notifies you the speed at the end of your test. Mine was 1kph out...

I think i did 58mph in the speed trap and came to an e stop within a couple of bike lengths. I had a brand new yamaha mt07 with abs. ABS is a cheat code. I'd recommend anyone doing mod1 to do with a class with brand new bikes

@@nickhorne5493 best trick mate, once you start entering the straight, gun and briefly look at Speedo last few yards to make sure you need to stay on throttle or not, then just go ahead with your maneuver

@@nickhorne5493 you can’t do 80mph someone did that on a test near me and got kicked out straight away ,I doubt it was 80mph but it was so far away from 32mph it was classed as dangerous driving
