      I could be wrong, but I believe every Ancient City has 1 enchanted golden apple in the altar chest in front of the Warden statue at the center of the city, so that boosts the number for sure.

      You find a few per ancient city, typically. Mineshafts and dungeons might end up having more per area on average, but it's far easier to find ancient cities than finding all the dungeons and mineshafts.

      It’s kind of like how dirt, wood, and flesh are technically the rarest materials in the known universe. It’s super easy to find once you know where it is. Deserts occupy a small portion of the world, but once you locate it, temples are easy to find.

    • @matthewanderson1916

      They're definitely a lot rarer than they used to be since there's so many new overworld biomes now, which combines with new mountain generation and biome size to make deserts pretty hard to come by. We had to go thousands of blocks in our current SMP just to find a desert biome, not really having access to cacti and green dyed blocks until we had elytra lol

    My favorite trim set is Spire for helm (Air), Tide for Chest (Water), snout for pants (Fire), and ward for boots (Earth). Not only do I really like the look of each trim they are each fairly rare and come from drastically different places that require the conquering or passing of something. Also I really like snout for the pants because if I am wearing elytra it looks really good because of the buckle. I find a lot of the pant trims to be lacking when worn without a chest plate.

      @shinobi6497 Рік тому

      His math was very wrong, it takes 15-20 cites, I don’t know what he did with his math, with only about 5 chests, each have 1% chance, 5*.01=0.05, 1/.05= 20, so you will need about 20

    • @sixolddereks
      @sixolddereks Рік тому +1

      Yeah, I realized later that all his math was done wrong. For a chance of something happening, you would multiply the odds of it not happening to find out how long it's take to get it to happen once. So, since the odds per chest are 1% and there are 5 chests per city on average. It would be .99 x .99 x .99 x .99 x .99= .99⁵ = .9509900499 chance of not finding the trim in any particular city. Which is approx 5% chance of finding it. It may seem like it is the same result on such small numbers, but the difference shows when going to bigger numbers. 14 cities would be aprox 51% of successfully finding it, and 20 cities would only be about 63% chance of finding it. You'd have to go to 46 cities to have at least a 90% chance of finding it.

    Edit: I would also like it to be as rare as soul speed 1 for a single upgrade, this should be a last resort, not a broken method just because it's infinite.

    So i was on the hunt for a vex armour trim. I bought the map, only to find out in the end that the closest mansion was eleven thousand blocks out from spawn. Also, the mansion was not in a roofed forest, it was in the middle of the ocean. Strange, but okay. It also didn't have any trims in it and there was absolutely no way that I had visited it beforehand. So I was pretty angry! Definitely not easy to find.

    An extra little tip for using the piechart to locate fortresses! The keyboard shortcut f3 + f increases render distance by 1, and f3 + shift + f decreases it by 1! Additionally, there is no need to relog on a singleplayer world. Simply reduce your RD again until the mob spawner is far enough out of RD to deload (and therefore disappear from your piechart). You can then increase it again to the mob spawner chunk distance, minus one chunk, to find the cardinal direction. Be sure to check diagonal chunks, too, if you're having difficulties pinning down the location. Sometimes in nethers with particularly awful terrain, I move a few chunks in the general direction and repeat the process to double check myself lol.
    If you want more info or a detailed explanation on this pie chart technique, it's called pie-ray, or pie-raying. You can search that term + minecraft on youtube for more tutorials and resources, which step from the Minecraft speedrunning community! ❤️

    In theory and real play things goes a little differently. To me silence was rarest and hardest to get because probabilitys doesnt nessessarily add together. Yes you have about 1% change to get silence trim from the chest but its not really 2% change to get if you loot 2 chest. In both chests you have 1% change and it doest get cumulative. Thats why me and many others have looted 10-20 ancient cities before finding first silence trim and 10-20 ancient cities is not on average 260%-520% change to find silence trim if ancient cities have 26 chests.

    • @tvt2428
      @tvt2428 Рік тому

      They do add together it's just very steady and you need to open a lot of chests.
      The way you described it is just not how probabilities add up (100% would mean you having it), let me show you:
      The probability of atleast getting one is 1 minus the probability of you not getting one
      1-[(100%-1.2%)^n] n=number of chests
      98.8%=0.988 is the chance of not getting one from 1 chest
      1-(0.988^50)=0.4532=45.32% chance of getting atleast one from 50 chests
      Now I'm going to show more chests and their respective chances:
      100 chests: 70.10% (after 100 chests theres still a 29.9% chance of not getting one)
      150 chests: 83.65%
      200 chests: 91.06%
      Now the 10 and 20 ancient cities if every one of them have 26 chests as you counted:
      260 chests: 95.67%
      520 chests: 99.81%
      So after 20 ancient cities you'd have to be very unlucky to not get one...
      In game the theory applies, It's all about chances (or luck).
      However the silence is still the hardest to get because of the difficulty of finding and looting an ancient city (every other structure said to have rarer ones in the video are all seeable just flying around with an elytra...)

    • @KamelionttiYT
      @KamelionttiYT Рік тому

      @@tvt2428 Yep my numbers were little bit off but i was kinda trying to explain same as you that 50 chest x 1% is not 50% (its 45.32% as you counted) change to get silence trim as you have counted. The 260-520% was counted wrong way just to be example as they where counted in the video 26 x 1% is not same 26% change to get silence trim. So you would not get silence on average in four ancient cities as it would be only 70% change to get it as you have counted. You seem to know math better so you could count the right numbers for the trim rarities. :)
      Edit. and you used higher 1.2% change to get silence and got even smaller change % than it was in the video. 1.2% was the right change as far as i have heard.

      @@RaysWorks Yea looked spreadsheet and counted with tvt2428 formula in exel. Change of getting trim from structure was wrong in allmost every line. I made few calculation in exel what would be change to get atleast one trim in structure and calculated rarity totals if you want atleast 70% change to get one trim minimum.
      These numbers are counted differently so they are not comparable to your numbers.
      Netherite upgrade 6991(82%)x2
      Snout 6875(76%)x2
      Wayfinder/shaper/host/raiser 3569(94%)
      Rib 2129(79%)x4
      Coast 1614(75%)x4
      Ward 1576(74%)
      Tide 903(74%)x2
      Spire 668(74%)x4
      Wild 240(80%)x2
      Dune 145(71%)x2
      Silence 144(72%)x4
      Eye 128(100%)
      Vex 114(99%)
      Sentry 64(76%)x5
      And how do you read this. Change to get at least one netherite upgrades is 82% if you loot 2 bastions. And rarity total is 6991 with 82% change to get netherite upgrade.
      Well my numbers are not comparaple either because for example vex have about 99% change to get from one mansion and others have lower persentage but some of the persentages are close to other so you could say that tide is "rarer" than ward if you count how much land you have to cover to have 74% change to find atleast one tide trim.
      So my list is not the right order what is rarest and what is not.
      Edit. and eye trim have 100% change to find in library so im not counting that and its hard to count treasure bastions 100% change to get netherite upgrage so that is also one thing that makes my number little bit wrong.
      Edit2. and Wayfinder/shaper/host/raiser is change to get atleast one of these trims, not all. And you can get same trim multiple time so its hard to count change to get all four of them.
      Edit3. with 16 pillager outpost you have about the same 99% change to get sentry armor trim as vex in on mansion so vex would go a lot more common in my list if you want allmost 100% change to get armor trim.

  • @nbvehbectw5640

    Is this a fair measurment of rarity? Wouldn't it be better to comare the average amount of trims per set area? It seems like you are adding an extra polar coordinate system Jacobian to this by measuring the distance. Doesn't seem to be the problem if you only want a binary answer for which trim is rarer, but if you want to compare how much rarer, then I think this would matter.

    I treat the statistiucs based on how hard it is to actually find w/o using anything like chunkbase or the debug display (which isn''t available on Bedrock anyway). Granted the statistics for getting the trims when you know exactly where all the structures are is a valid way to measure. But for a real-world playthrough where every structure has to be found it is going to shake up the order of difficulty listed in the video. (And is highly seed-dependent.) FWIW, in my personal experience I've found Silence 4 times out of 10 random worlds w/o using help so that alone seems to make it easier than expected to find. Most of the failures come from not being able to find an Ancient Citry period, even under mountains.

    It might also be the dune armor trim

      The vex one is very easy honestly, just get a cartographer to give you a map, then burn down the mansion and loot the chests. Dune is also easy, although desert temples are rare, they are very easily visible and pretty much free to loot.

Who is coming up with this stuff that suited more for 8 year olds. I by passe all of it by adding a Texture pack to my character to make my armor invisible. So now I can look any way I make my skin look while still wearing all my armor.

    The math in this video is super scuffed in many places, as some other people have already mentioned. Biggest flaw in my opinion is the inflation of how rare the eye trim is due to checking such a large area, with only a small part of that being able to generate strongholds, as well as them not being random, making probability kind of irrelevant. Probabilities were also added wrong, as it's not possible to have a "130% chance" of finding a trim, no matter how many structures you check - The probability of finding at least one can never go over 100%.
    The fact that strongholds are also so much easier to both find and loot as ancient cities, as well as having a 100% chance to contain one, would also factor in to how rare a regular player would consider an armour trim to be - although obviously that doesn't affect the actual math.
    Just telling everybody with concerns to "check the math in the spreadsheet" is kinda weird when some of the things brought up are not answered there.
