Thanks! Straightforward, short and to the point. The only small hang up I had was there is a black plastic battery clamp at the bottom of the strap with the 13mm bolt. The top of the strap hooks in with a button-type hook. The small battery clamp came off when I pulled the battery out and I wasn't sure at first where it went back in. One other thing, I loosened but didn't have to remove the 13mm nut near the positive clamp. The assembly stayed all together for me. Thanks again.
Oh, I got my new battery from Batteries Plus. They didn't have a listing for my 2014, but everyone else has the same battery for both model years, so I told them to look up a 2013. It was in stock at $224.00, less 10% online shopping coupon that pops up when you go to the website. 4 year warranty.

Did you need a special 10mm socket to take off the bolts to the trunk cover? Seems the socket needs to be deeper to be able to to get to the get the nut loose?

I did use a deep socket to clear it. You might be able use a flex head wrench, if you don’t have a deep socket.

Did battery change fix your random issues? Our ‘14 is acting goofy and our smart charger won’t fully charge the 12v.

Tip: DON'T close the hatch once you disconnect the battery cables like I did. It's a PITA to get it back open because it uses the 12V battery to operate the hatch actuator.

Just curious, you said that you were having “other issues” and that you hoped replacing the battery would fix. What were the other issues? Any weird error messages you were getting that fixed themselves after replacing the battery?

I was having issues with the engine running when there was still battery charge and it wasn’t below 26 deg. I have red that if the 12v system wasn’t running properly, it could kick the car into hybrid mode. Changing the battery did seem to make an improvement for a week or so, but then the car continued to switch into hybrid mode, even when there was battery charge left.
Still not sure why the car does this. I am assuming it is due to aging batteries and colder temps.

      @@jqworksengine running due to temperature?
There’s a setting for cold and REAALLLYYY cold. Set it to the Really cold and you’ll probably keep the engine off.

How do the trunk open with the dead battery?? Even the charging port door won't open on this dead volt😂
