Cabin in the Woods: The Return! Concrete has Been Poured
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 жов 2024
- In this episode of cabin in the woods, we return to site where much work has been done while we were away. The concrete floors have been poured and all the underground plumbing has been done. We have a ton of work ahead of us and I hope you follow along. Drop a comment down below of what part you are excited most for so I can be sure to cover it.
I wanted to share with you guys what's been going on and what is next for this project. Every time another stage is completed, it is apparent how much more awesome this "cabin in the wood" is becoming. Stay Tuned, lots on the way!
Entire video filmed on my DJI Osmo Pocket. Pretty killer little camera

For me, the ideas in ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.
thanks a lot dear I love wood making things every time
I like you have ethics . . . your proud to stand behind your work. . .it shows!
If the customer considers this a cabin in the woods, so be it. Whatever you call it, I call it bad ass. Every man needs one of these.
It's always been nice to watch you guys build the bones and shell of the building it is certainly a bonus to see you go beyond that for a more detailed complete picture of the building and your skills thank to you both for the videos and taking us along on your journey.
Watching you and Gregg do excellence as a daily habit is worth a bit of patience on our part. You do what you do because you want to and want to do it well- you can't get more American and heartland than that!
Any chance we will get a walk through once this place is finished?
No, you're not building a cabin. You're building one helluvah cabin!
Love what you have done so far
Thanks for bringing us back to see the great progression this build.
You and Greg are doing a great job. I am enjoying watching your build series. Keep them coming!
By far best UA-cam contractor!!!!! Are you the general contractor and sub out electrical, plumbing etc? Or are you subbed for framing only?
I try to never General the entire job. I’m not interested in contracting and managing other trades. I usually still end up helping schedule and work with them obviously but I don’t like putting others work on my name I can guarantee
RR Buildings do you have a list of subs you recommend to the owner? Crews you like to work with and know do good work? Or do you stay out of that?
@@bpdp379 I know he has gutter and insulation guys he works with all the time.
So glad you are wearing the mic. It really makes a difference. I watch most video's when others are sleeping and always have to have volume control in hand.
Your format style, personality and camaraderie is what sets R&R apart and welcomes the viewer to hang out on the job site. Too! You have the spirit of a teacher which makes the adventure worth the investment of time and dedication that's required to film and edit content. Those things are not accomplished without consequences and sacrifice. It is easy to overlook your family while on a mission while running a business and end up becoming a stranger to your children. Count the cost.
100% which is why I try to purposefully get away from my computer and do things with them like bikes or videos games with my son
A very interesting project. Three in one. Here you live, work and relax. A great idea and very convenient.
IMO this is the best series yet, what a building, what a location, superb, thanks for sharing, and as usual top job guys, 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks
This build was massive!
Thank you for the update Kyle! I’m excited to see the finishing touches.
Thanks for the update Karl it looks great
Very exciting!!
lets get to work..!!be safe and see you guys on the next one..!!
That is such a nice property!
Awesome love this channel thanks guys
Cant wait to see the finish work. With your accuracy and attention to detail its going to be EPIC. It satisfies my OCD!
if i ever go on as German Carpenter Walker i definatly come to you guys showing how we germans do the Timber Framing and even mortis and tennand and yes its a thing here to be a walker as carpenter or Waller so be prepaired XD
Love your channel. Can’t wait to see you finish this building.
So, I just watched the 20 episodes and I'm totally into it.
Wait huh, no I have to wait for the sequel aaaaargh!
What a wonderful channel this is, super nice work with enough explanation and information.
Here where I live (The Netherlands) it is not common to work with so much wood.
Most houses are made of stone / concrete and increasingly fitted with plastic window frames.
I don't see much of the real thing anymore, which is why this channel is so great.
It's great what you can achieve in a few hours.
For NOW ... come on, hurry up! I want the Cabin in the Woods sequel.
Great job 👏🏽 I just left it like 👍🏽
Very nice job guys.
My family has a friend who owns a 2nd house in a city that gets snow, sometimes she lets us borrow it. It is in the middle of a subdivision and we call it "the cabin." It has 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3 decks, 2 stories & 1 elevator. Lol, if some people want to call it a cabin, it's a cabin. Lol
Cabin or not.... if the owner wants to call it a starship, it doesn't matter. It is a fantastic build and looks great for a cabin. Keep up the good work.
Loving this building man great jobs guys
Good afternoon from St John Parish, Louisiana 25 Oct 20.
Now that is some building and what a location. Loving this series.
awesome work .I have dome a couple of "photo stories" and that was hard enough.Your expalantions are really good too!
LOL...when I first saw the Oregon Music Garage project I thought that you were here in the state of Oregon working on this project and I was like dang I need to check it out when its done
Enjoyed the short video. Looks awesome .
Thanks for the update ,cabin looks cool
Oh man you’re teasing me. I was expecting a 20 minute episode😂😂
Outstanding teacher, thank you!
Man, you can really see that place coming alive now. Super excited to see you guys continue.
You do some amazing work
Doing a great job. Love the videos. Well worth the little wait
Enjoying the show
Im so behind on this build but I'm getting caught up this weekend. I also got my Isotunes with an affiliate approval and I used your link and credit for the sale. Thanks bud they are an awesome product.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the owners fit it out and landscape it, but you will be long gone, so that’s not going to happen. Great job so far. Thanks.
Keep up the great work
Amazing to watch.... appreciate ya!
Kyle this is for sure one of the best builds so far! Lots of interesting work to go! As always I am looking forward to the next video!
Lets Go Kyle!!!
And Greg as well.
Nice freaking trailer! Better than some places I've lived. How long is that?
I really appreciate this update, nice to see this project from scratch. Your work is amazing, it's all in the details. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, we really enjoy it!
Wow that is a lot of khan crete work.
Kia ora koutou, from Auckland, New Zealand…
Love it can’t wait to see the finish
I just caught that your logo is on the house wrap. Level up!!
Ever thought of taking some concrete works in future projects?
Not interested currently
This is looking amazing, I can't wait to see more. It'll be interesting to see some more of the finishes and I'm super excited to see that chimney and two story porch come together!
That is going to be an amazing build..Can’t wait to see it progress.
Love it. Send my regards to sir Greg
Great job 👍
Yessssssssssss! I’m so excited! God bless!
This is the kind of house I want to have built
Dude! I wanted to see the electrical, plumbing, and concrete work that was going into the building since you left off....
Do a legit timber frame porch, mortise and tenon with pegs, could be a good lead in to doing more stuff like that ?
Nice pond for maximum mosquitoage
Awesome. What’s the furthest you will travel to build?
bloody awesome mate :)
I wonder if is going to have HVAC system.. I really want to see the finish product that looks like a real pricey $$$ project....
The palace in the woods
awesome build!
This is a huge cabin lol
You have your own logo on the house wrap? How haven't I noticed that before?
Don't you guys wanna come to Alabama for the winter?
Hay addicted to your vids and new follower. Your speed square video saved me a bunch of time fixing my old house. Was just wondering what brand of wet set brackets do you use or recommend ? Living in NZ and only seen then on your Chanel, looking to get some shipped over for a project here. Thanks
i'm still waiting for you to finish the bathroom and rooms at your house!
Looking pretty cherry!!
looking good hey
If there is no rebar in the front patio area, I was recommend not driving on it with the lift for a long time, if at all. Wouldn't want to break that ~3 inch patio slab.
Another quality video.
Do you think you’d be more efficient with a third person on your crew ? During the last music room video where you were putting up trusses it seemed to be slower than when you had a third person working for you ?
For sure
@@RRBuildings - Thanks for taking the time to respond
Only one T shirt the whole vid! Haha
I always wondered how they poured the concrete after you where done with the post and beams. Still weird that the sonotubes are not tied into the slab.
what state are you in? sure looks sunny warm and green
Illinois
Cool as always Kyle! #cordlesscowboys
Waiting.....lol
kick ass
I didn't say using your Fast tool On the music garage the breaker what happened🍻🥃
@RR Buildings - Did you stain the concrete? Is there a video of the polish?
Awesome content Kyle!
You and Greg should reach out and collaborate with Simon & Billy over on Goonzquad (UA-cam) to build their dream shop/garage.
Hi, Kyle!
Looks good. Do the chains become permanent or are you waiting until you have more structure to support the building?
Most of the racking strength as it is called (prevents the framing from twisting under things like wind load) comes from whatever panel product you put on the outside of the framing wither it be steel or osb. So the chains provide that until that point in the build. If you do steel only on the outside, often it is required you put the x bracing he has talked about before on each side of all four corners between the main posts.
With all the plastic wrap around the building, isn't there any concern that on a windy day a branch could come down and bust through the plastic?
Where do you buy building materials? Thanks love the channel
How did you pour the concrete footings with chamfered corners for your posts? One pour or two?
I missed the drone footage of the finished roof. Did you show it?
Why is the 8x6 priced higher than the next larger shed?
What ever happened to the series on the remodel at your home
Second!!!
RW Powell 70519 👊🏻👊🏻
Kyle, any idea if that hand pump well at 4:30 still works ? Thanks.
Is there a particular reason that you install the roofing before siding and exterior paint instead of just installing the vapor barrier and roof to wall flashing? How do I you keep the roof from getting scratched up and keep paint off the roof?
What painting? Unless I missed something in one of the videos on this project. the steel he will likely be putting on the outside will come pre-finished just like every other panel.
How do you frame the 2nd story interior walls and platform? Have not found that on the numbered videos listed? We want a 2 story garage and mother-in-law apartment in Post Frame? Help
