Exactly what my problem is! This saved me so much money. Thank you. I have been unemployed for a year now and every dollar I can save is most appreciated.
So very frustrating! Maddening actually! Have a 2013 Chrysler 200s. Issues started with a check engine light and ASD light coming on. Simultaneously lost heat on the passenger side and began making a loud clicking noise on the passenger side. Everything online indicated a bad actuator door and the error code said there was a fault either in the braking, and or, cruise control unit. Took it to the dealership. They replaced actuator and a brake sensor, collected $634 and sent us on our way. The same day the cruise control stopped working again...and again, no heat on passenger side. We took it back and now they want $1900 to replace the heater core, replace coolant reservoir, replace the HVAC control unit, and do a radiator flush. They somehow seem to have reworded everything to ensure they are not billing for something they should have friggin found, and fixed the first time! I appreciate this video...and will try this myself before going back to the dealership...or any shop. Just chaps me that these dealerships can get away with this kind of behavior...since they can't sell cars these days I guess the gotta make money somewhere and no one seems to question how they do it. Thanks again for posting!
Stop using HOAT antifreeze. Antifreeze gels when crud from engine machining process gets clogged in heater core. Flush out and use OAT antifreeze and a coolant filter.
Flushed my core and it’s hot from the driver and luke warm on the passenger. I’m thinking the blend door actuator has crapped out but I’m unsure which of the 3 to swap. Any guesses or should I just swap all of them?
It is unlikely the blend doors, The heater core used in these cars has the inlet and outlet on the same end which allows antifreeze sludge to collect on the end which is on the passenger side vents.
The heater core on this car has the inlet and outlet on the same side, thus as the coolant ages it turns slimy and plugs up the far end that has the reduced flow going through it. I wish you the best on your repair
I did get improvement; it wasn't completely the same as driver side but was just 10 degrees colder coming out of the vents. I wish you the best on your repair
This is a factory flaw as heater core holes are to small, and plugs up. I have had 5 heater cores in mine since 2012 change antifreeze and flush. It is just a poor design. And mopar does nothing for us.

@@Shadoglare agreed, i just worked on one with the very heating issue, the actuator was clicking, I changed it figured was the heat issue, all it did was fix the clicking sound. this vehicle is just a POS model from the start.
@johnineich9957 Flush coolant system and stop using HOAT type antifreeze. Replace heater core if neccessary. Use only OAT antifreeze and a coolant filter.

Glad it helped

glad you like the video and I wish you the best on your heater core flush
Great video. Thank for sharing
Glad to help

how long did you run the hot water through it?
If I remember right it was around a half hour

Going to have it flushed again at a different shop and see if they have better success.
We are having the same problem with our 200 s. Why does it only effect the passage side vent

Well did you get more heat?

Still didn’t work for mine
And you did what the video showed?

2013 Chrysler 200 cold air on passenger, driver side no cold air
if your heat is on this procedure will likely help get more heat on the passenger side. I wish you the best on your repair
Heater blend door actuator
Glad you found the video helpful
That was my thought. Just fixed a truck with no heat on one side. Was the actuator.
Nope. They do go bad on these cars (and I've replaced mine twice) but it's not the cause of this problem.
