Yeah...informative video....maybe worth a shout to say at " prep stage" ..if you have access to a pressure washer..you have a better chance of cleaning engrained dirt from out of the chip/ crack. I did this.."but not on full power"..I just let the water from the pressure washer continually stream into the chip for 5 minutes. It removed a lot of the road grime.
Thanks for this.. very useful.. I had Halfords (motor store retail chain in UK) use a professional kit on a previous stone chip and it was no better or worse than yours... I'd be very happy to have had your result. Thanks
Instructions on mine suggests to heat inside of windscreen with lighter or hair dryer to to ensure resin reaches the entire crack but not to use excessive heat as it can cause further damage. My solution to this is simply turn on the car heat setting for windscreen defogger.
Great video easy to follow, far better than the instructions, I've had "great success" using this..... Bullseye gone from very obvious to having to look for it to see it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Finally joined the club, purchased my own civic type r fn2 couple of days ago! Just wondering where do you find the best places for purchasing stuff after some new headlights at the minute, secondly is there any clubs to join
Thanks for your how to guide. I ve got a small chip on my windscreen, not worth paying out £75 for insurance to to fix but I will try out one of these kits. Have you thought about having the cdti remapped for more power?
No problem and good luck with it. Personally I don't want to. Simply because I have a car that's already performance based that I'd prefer to improve the Type R rather than get my slower car to match it.
it works . you just did it wrong and screwed the resin chamber down to hard at the start . the resin chamber has small rubber nipple on the end it should be just touching the windscreen. if it leaks then tighten slightly. screwing it down so much doesn’t allow the chamber to open.
Great video thanks, but you seemed to have a very poor result. The damage was still quite visible, although the resin might have stopped it from becoming worse.
Nice video.. From your personal experience how would you rate the performance of the Type R vs the i-CTDI.. obvs the type R is a type R but 2.2 has nearly 1 and half times more torque?
I'm pretty new to the FN2/Honda scene but interested in your channel (shame that the Stealth guy vanished from uploading on his one). You got anymore plans for mods or restoration on your main car - see that you have been uploading FN2 vids for quite a while now and people often move on to new projects? Anyway keep it up mate 👍
Yes mate it was a shame that he stopped, really nice guy. Yes mate plenty of plans for the type R. I get quit emotionally attached to my cars so as long as I can help it, the Type R's going nowhere. Cheers buddy 👍🏻
I'm really curious to see the video and your results but I can't listen to what you're saying at the beginning because of that background music that also has lyrics. It's soooo distracting, I don't know why people put any music at all but if you must, at least put plain music and not singing which competes with your own dialogue. It doesn't matter how low the volume it's there and it's immensely distracting.
Even if it doesn't effect your no claims, the twats will probably still put you on the "CUE Database/register" for making a claim, this does put your insurance up. Don't trust them to be fair with you. You can find out if your on the CUE if you request it from the organisation that runs it. And you can complain to your insurance provider if they have put you on it against their own terms and conditions and make them request for you to be removed from it.
@@FNLEW mate the video was ok and the informative, even with your working in the street and the neighbours. Maybe Next time you post something in my opinion start taking about the subject the viewer has searched for and the video is supposed to be about. For me if they prattle on at the beginning I go to another video. Just feed back.
@@terryhaynes see this reply right here, that's feedback. And I appreciate the compliment. I'll take it into consideration for future videos thank you 👍🏻
Got a kit, pretty much identical, from Halfords for a tenner and had a go today. Came out pretty good. Cheers for the video.
@@shadowsax great to hear. No problem at all.

So great to hear you found my video useful!
Great video gave me the confidence to do this myself with good results 👍
Great to hear 👍🏻
Great video. Had my kit for a few weeks, lost the instructions so you were a massive help, thanks!
Brilliant, glad I could help!
Does it work on mirrors

great idea thanks, I wasnt keen on holding a naked flame under my glass.
Good clear instructions, thank you!🍻
too much camera focus on yourself than actual repair video .....extending video too much

Thanks very much 😊 glad you had joy with it 👍🏻
did this today but had a bit of the raisin still visible and dried now dont know how to get that dry bit off any ideas?

LOADS of clubs and forum's mate. All on Facebook just type in Fn2 or Honda. And Cox motorparts is a good place for OEM parts.
Custom Light Works do some mint aftermarket lights.
Tegiwa is good for some replacement parts also, their customer service is brilliant.
Came for the repair...stayed for the accent😂 wish youd panned out and shown us the neighbours faces smooshed to their windows pmsl❤🇦🇺🙏

For hills and pulling away, the diesel has it. For handling, high revs, sound and all round fun, the type R every day.
@@FNLEW ahh nice.. best of both worlds for you then 😂
@@mu7192 haha yes mate very lucky.
Gunna give this a go tonight cheers for the video boss
No worries buddy. Good luck 👍🏻
Thanks, think instructions naff. This enabled me to do two cars
Amazing to hear 👍🏻

Clean it with Alcohol ?
I got the oneplus 6 cant complain . Maybe the camera on that will be a good back up camera also that auto focus must do ur head in what camera is it
Yeah I've actually used it in my next video. It's a Nikon d3300 DSLR. I've just changed the focus mode so hopefully it helps.
Hopefully mate only been watching for about a week or so but Ive been just binge watching and learning a lot about my own civic 1.8 sport . Keep it up
@@happilyinsane88 that's awesome mate thanks so much.
Let’s find out!
Joker, gonna give you a follow coz I'm about to do this myself 👍🏽
Cheers FNLEW 🍻.... love your efforts mate... Your like me. Fook it and give it and give it a go attitude. 😀

Too much unnecessary talking.
don’t put too much pressure on, i cracked mine further.
Funny but on pint love it
mine was a loads better finish to be honest I've done 3 more since.
good vidio cut the music
Lew looks like one of the Beatles
I hate it mate 😆
You didn't even follow the instructions set out by manufacturer so not a true reflection on product quality
Sorry
Found a chip on my windscreen a French fry lol
Just claim on your insurance and get a nice new one ☝🏻
Wasn't sure whether it effected my no claims
I’ve claimed to have mine replaced on insurance before and it just cost £75 to replace and didn’t affect my no claims

The answer is, IT DOESN’T WORK!!
How do you Brits understand your own English speaking?
We all have different accents from different areas. Much like every other country on the planet.
too much yapping
3 minutes into video before you got to the job.
Sorry for wasting your time.
