I have never seen a MicroLed display wall in person and have no doubt that this display technology is the future as it provides stunning image quality. However, as a home cinema enthusiast I am not sure if the image is suitable for dark-room viewing as it is still an emissive vs a reflective display technology and could possibly cause eye fatigue after a while. Also, are MicroLeds able to emulate the magic of the silver screen? Are they just not a better version of Oleds which to me are not ideal for home theatre viewing. What are your thoughts?
Like anything, it depends on how it’s calibrated. If you calibrate to a dark room, it’s going to look really amazing. Likewise, it can blow the doors off a projector in a bright room. With MicroLED, you get infinite blacks. Which is huge. I get what you’re saying about projection… it still (and always will) play super well in dark rooms.
@@av_nirvana Thank you so much for your feedback. It's greatly appreciated. It would be interesting to see if commercial movie theaters start adopting this technology. Exciting times.
How so? They've found a way to deliver an experience at a significantly reduced cost, launching it under a new brand name. I inspected both the Expanse and Ledge walls... I couldn't discern a difference between them and the JVW-branded wall. Have you had an experience with microLED shifting that's pushed you to not like it?
Awesome interview Todd... and absolutely amazing technology.
Appreciate the conversation Todd! Love your channel my friend 👍
Thanks!!!
Nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
What is the latency for gaming for the ledge for 136" or 163"?
80 ft wide!?! I couldn't mount that on the OUTSIDE of my house, let alone anywhere inside! 😀
Crazy, right? I'd love to see it!

Pixel shifting cheapens the product and the brand.
