This is in my top 5 favorite songs of all time. It had such a big impact on my life when it came out. I loved it so much in 2014 that when it was time to prep for my wedding in 2015, I had my wedding band learn it and play an instrumental rendition as groomsmen, bridesmaids, and family walked down the aisle before my wife walked.
Two years in a row now that I've listened to this song on repeat anytime I'm in the car for about a month long period. Seems to be a definite correlation with the start of summer weather too. Something very special about this song and how it makes me feel
This song changed my life. Stopped me in my tracks. I can be such a cynical old bitch. I was lying on my couch under the back verandah one Sunday afternoon when it came on the radio. It raised me out of my foggy stupor. Thank goodness for community radio 3RRR.

Every detail of this song. This guitar tone and that voice. This is just so pure. Reminds me cold river flows and breezing wind blows and my best friends, grabbing some beer together and chatting. So peaceful. Do not know how to describe this feeling. This is the artist who leaves such an impression on me everytime. Just amazing. That is the music which feeds my soul.
this song it's like drug... i feel it in my vains... it's my summer anthem... while riding in my car, or at the sunset, or in every single moment I want to stop, relax and hear what surrounds me!!! THANKS KURT!!!
First artist since the early 90's I'm excited about, this guy has it all, lyrics, voice, music, and he is real smart and interesting in interviews, a true music lover. I hope he makles it to the top. True talen
it's hard to believe that this song is over 9 minutes long. "meandering guitar" mentioned below is dead on. this is a great road tune - stuck on about an hour loop. i'm really growing in my appreciation for kurt vile. he has really deep sounding material - as in layers of tones. excellent.
Southbound highway 1. Homeward from Portland, just under 1000 miles. Made this trip a few times, but one specifically by myself during Covid, everything was shut down, everyone was stagnant. So it felt like it was just me and the road. I distinctly remember this song on that trip and will always associate that memory with this song. Much love.
An early summer Friday morning on Randall's Island. He was one of the first acts to play the Governor's Ball that year. My best friend and I had to take work off to see him. That might be one of my best music memories... And I got a lot of 'em!
I've read a lot of comments about what's wrong with his music.. First off, if you don't like it why even waste your time? Obviously, he wanted his music the way it came out.
we've been having a stretch of nice summer weather here in San Francisco the last few days, and every day I wake up the first thing I do is play this song
I am always finding great new artists, lots of them pretty obscure.I think this is the first one, off the adverts,it hit me that quickly,my finger was hovering.
He was on Letterman tonight. The acoustic guitar solo Kurt played near the end of the song was really great. I tried to capture it, but my Tivo messed up.
Was at a-ha in Leeds last week, and during the set-up the venue played this song. I first heard it when it came out 6 years ago. Now, this isn't normally the style of music I'd go for, and Kurt Vile didn't become an icon for me or change my life, but I liked this song so much. And that just goes to show when this song came on in the venue and I found myself trying desperately to explain to my partner who this song was by, what the name of it was, and when I couldn't I found this fact simply depressing. This song is the kind of song you hear once, somehow, somewhere, and you don't ever want it to leave your consciousness and/or escape your memory. You just want it to remain a permanent fixture to who you are. That is the power of music, if there is such a thing (I mean, come on - there obviously is, but some people tend to disagree).
I want to listen to this song at the end, and go peacefully.

That guitar groove he gets into is wonderfully meandering and infectious
+Tony Rinker Check out a Tear for Eddie by Ween. Very similar groove.
You are so right - the wait is rewarded..
Just Stopping by to pay respect 🙏to one of our best songwiters in modern times 🤌 this is amazing.
If 8 billion people heard this groove, all would be right with the world🌎

I love that music can do this to people.
Very few times have I felt this feeling, but when I have, it was absolutely life changing

I agree re: the overall depth in the mix. Really nice full bodied sound with beautiful instrumental tones
you should try listening to the grateful dead, man.
Oh I do

Wow, incredible song. Kurt has really outdone himself. He just gets better and better and better.
Love the laid back, badass-ness of Kurt's voice. Chill tune. Good vibes for a rainy Monday.
Came here cuz I couldn’t comment on the other one. What a pretty day. We’re so lucky to have this lovely music!
In love with this track 😃

The opening guitar is hauntingly sad.
I first heard this song on an NPR promo and that guitar sound said more than the whole song.
Great song and Brilliant record. Tons of Love and Respect to Kurt for the music.
I'm listening this song over and over again, can't get enough! Great vibe! Can't wait for the new album.
He is getting better and better, loving his songwriting skills more and more.
this comment aged well
nostalgia for times that have never been...
Sitting here with my coffee and a pancake - just woke up and thought of this song...
Could there be a more soothing start to one's day? Thanks, Kurt.

The only song ive ever listened to over 9 minutes and not a single point in the song where you find yourself thinking-come on with it -.
I just spent 9:24 watching paint dry
it was worth it

He's fantastic. just enjoy it
0:12 Pidgin " is that Kurt Vile?! .. aaaaa"
badum tsss.
That felt like the best three minute pop song I've heard in ages. How can it be so long but pass so quickly that I instantly want to play it again?
Slow-burn guitar... never boring... very engaging... Very nice indeed.
north philadelphia ftw, love you kurt xo
Reminds me of Pavement's Terror Twilight album for some reason.
Thank you for the soothing groves ❤
Wait. This gets down so hard, and so soft, at the same time
Discovered this song by finding the poster in spillers and taking it home, best thing ever
beautiful track and goes so well with this footage! im a metalhead and loved every second! my favourite track of this last year!
Listen to Kurt every day.
The best song Stephen Malkmus never wrote.
He did write it. It's called Major Leagues
Lol. Yep. It's the same song with an uptempo arrangement.
So consider Stephen a belated co-song writer for this track
Yes, I completely agree! "Lacking imagination? Feeling slightly excluded by someone you find pretentious? Call them a hipster!"
Holy shit, this album is unbelievable.
Awesome. Can't wait for this album. Kurt is amazing.
Best 10 mins of my week, but I guess it's only Monday:) still I can't imagine it can be beaten

I dunno. I'm getting a Jorma Kaukonen via Luna's Dean Wareham vibe myself. And loving it...
Such an awesome addition to Fishtown! I park right by there all the time!
@Samuel Powell Thanks for the recommend! I do love Kurt Vile so I'll check it out.
Dallas radio host Mark Davis brought me here! 😊 I'm getting Mazzy Star vibes listening to this.
I think I did a burner on that roof in the 80's!

Great soloing at the end.

This definitely has a Pavement Terror Twilight/Stephen Malkmus vibe. Pretty incredible I must say.
