The thing I love about this is how the cards they're holding combines how they are connected to each other. I always need kleenix when I listen to there version of this song.
Yup. I sobbed too. It was Kevin who broke down my last bit of resistance. I truly believe he's their secret weapon. It's happened so many times, now...and I've been a Pentaholic since 2012. I recommend "Somebody That I Used To Know"...if you haven't heard it yet. I knew, in that moment, I was hearing something special and rare. Pentatonix Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great reaction to a powerful statement that John Lennon was trying to get across to everyone. Pentatonix brings it right to the heart..we are all human.❤️
_Imagine_ is definitely my favorite -cover- upgrade that Pentatonix does. I have vivid memories of the murder of John Lennon, 42 years ago - that's 2 more years than *his* entire lifetime. The shock and grief remain as strong today as they were then. _Imagine_ was John's masterpiece; it was *already* perfect, yet Pentatonix found a way to make it better. The thing is, the *way* they made it better was to make it more of what it already was. They always treat the original song and the original artist with the utmost respect; they don't twist things. I wish John were still alive to see this; it would make him proud. And I find that the fact that work like this is being produced by a younger generation of artists gives me hope for the future. Right now, that's saying a lot.
The song in and of itself is great, but the visuals that go along with it like the card being passed around that shows how similar and how different we each are from one another, make it extraordinary. The best part is at the end when they all have a card and remind us that even though we all belong to different sexual orientations, religions and ethnic backgrounds, we are all part of one race…. The HUMAN race.
PTX is a true example of how people of different races, genders, nationalities, religions, & sexual orientation CAN work together, respect each other & live in harmony together (literally, in their case)! Appreciate the honest reaction Travis.
Surprise! I thought you reacted to this one last summer, shortly after you started on this PTX odyssey. Either that or I’ve just had a major sense of deja vu! Yep! Pretty much my response to this one every time I see it. I can listen without the video, and am usually o.k., but with the visual I am a blubbering mess. This is gonna be hard, been sad all afternoon hearing about the loss of Betty White today (New Year’s Eve and just 17 days before her 100th birthday) this gives me another reason to shed a few tears. It’s just been a miserable couple of years. Glad you’re here Travis, we need more like you. Thank You.
Travis, here's what I think you should do next and I and fellow Pentaholics would be very grateful if you found the time. There's a relatively new Reactor named Chris on a channel called "larryshair". You should see his reactions to discovering PTX for the first time, it'll bring you back. He hasn't even seen "Daft Punk" or "Bohemian Rhapsody" yet because Christmas came upon us so he was focusing primarily on that. However, his reaction to "The Sound of Silence" when he pauses in the middle and makes an apology to "parties that you'll just have to go look and see for yourself" is PRICELESS. In any case, his first ever reaction to PTX was to "Mary Did You Know?" and it got blocked. Now, I tried to help as best as I could but I am neither a UA-camr nor a video editor. But maybe you can go over there, enjoy his reactions, tell him I sent you, and give him some ideas since you have learned how to be a Master PTX Video Uploader, Chief Bypasser of Copyright Algorithms and Insert Another Cheeky Description Here. I would be very grateful, and you might make a new friend, Chris is a stand-up guy. :D
Your reaction was so raw I felt instantly connected as humans. I'm watching as Russia is invading Ukraine & the beauty of PTX voices, the song, the message cuts deep in my heart. Subscribed & celebrating becoming part of this community!
I've never cried listening to this song before, but seeing you cry made me cry a little. Every time I see someone else cry, I cry just because they're crying.
There is something wrong with someone who is not moved to tears hearing this. I ugly cry more times than not. I cannot listen to this while driving, even after hearing it thousands of times. Thank you for sharing.
Still my favorite of your reactions and I think I'd put it in my top 10 favorite of all reaction videos I've seen (and I'm a reaction junkie). Thank you for putting it back up, it's worth it. Much love.
It's always been a very powerful song for me, and this is no exception. The message is more relevant today than when the song was originally released. I especially like the end where they express the message in written words. Of course, the only word that truly mattered was the last one, HUMAN.
I had EXACTLY the same deep reaction that you had to this version. Imagine John Lennon seeing this.... It's SO BEAUTIFUL! I think you are a beautiful soul and your smile is beautiful too.
Another heartfelt reaction, Travis. I always get misty-eyed when watching their video. In this day & age that image at the end of the video highlights the one thing the world needs right now. With the ongoing pandemic causing so much stress & anxiety, it has brought out the worst in a lot of people, including prejudice. A lot of people have lost sight of the fact that regardless of race, gender, preference or background, we are still only HUMAN. We are all in this together and need to see this through together as one. Very powerful message.
I grew up in the 60s & 70,s and didn't understand things like I do now. I do know John Lennon-an amazing man!! I cried thru this because of the tragedies that are still happening some 50 years after this was sung. Be kind and accepting of each other people.
Everyone sheds some tears with this one. I cry every single time, and I know I've seen this at least 100 times. The more chaotic, resentful and angry this world becomes, the more important and healing this cover is to those of us who crave peaceful solutions. When those spectacular emotion-propelled voices become one, weaving, uniting and building to mind-blowing crescendo its' the purest example of everything the song yearns for: to live as one. Only my opinion but this cover is perfection with all it accomplishes if we simply pay attention to the message and allow our hearts to lead us forward. This video keeps me in touch with what is pivotal to lives on this planet and the continuing existence of Earth itself. THIS is what is IMPORTANT to us all. WHY does it have to be so seemingly beyond our reach? 💔❤️🩹
This is one that hits the heart especially with the state of our world today. Loved the reaction. Since we are looking at New Years Day, can you react to their song New Years Day from 2016. It's rather perfect for this holiday.
Imagine by Pentatonix may be one of the most important videos of this century. This group took a classic song of tolerance and peace and modernized it as only they can. They are a perfect example of what respect and love can be like. Five people with differences in race, religion, gender, and sexuality can do beautiful things when they work together. I cried when I heard this the first time. I still usually tear up when they go into Wall of Sound mode. Unfortunately showing this to Pentaholics is kind of like preaching to the choir with most of us.
I can relate to this in my own way because I am Christian. This song has so much truth behind it in the fact that I have learned to respect others for who they are as a person and not their beliefs or their race, sexual orientation, etc. I used to be so opposed to these things and thought I was better than everyone else. Not even close. Everyone else matters just as much as I do as a human being. Thank you John Lennon for driving this home. Just being 💯 with myself and all y'all!
When you see something like this, all the divisions that separate people are so small and break us down. If we just saw each other's hearts instead what a beautiful world this could be.
There is not a single time that i watch PTX's Imagine that I don't end up crying like a baby. As a member of the trans community, when I feel like everything is going wrong in this world, I watch that video and it gives me hope that one day I can walk around with my head up high and not pretend that I am "normal". That I can just be myself and not be criticized for it. Pentatonix has always given me a sense of hope and joy. I am so glad that they bring you joy as well and that you allow us to see you in your most vunerable moments as well as your most happy. Seeing the delight that you get from them makes us just as happy for you.
The PTX version of this song is amazing. What takes it to another level, at least for me, is the message they present with it. If you think about it, Pentatonix is the perfect example of people working together. The coming together of this group has nothing to do with race, sexual orientation, gender, religion, or any other diving factor in our society and the world. Pentatonix is a combination of friendship and talent, and that is the way it should be. I love how the cards show that while they are different from one another. they are also connected. The world should be so wise.
Travis, I love all of your reaction videos. This one is one of your best!! You are so honest and caring when you watch with us. Keep doing what you are doing!! Absolutely love it!!!
I think this was last official video with Avi. When Scott gives him the sign the lyrics say "brotherhood of man". And Avi gives "American" to Kevin. A lot of symbolism there too.
There were two more videos with Avi--"Bohemian Rhapsody" (released the same day as PTX: Vol IV) and "Can't Help Falling in Love", which was Avi's last video with the band.
It is one of my favorite PTX videos. The vocals are beautiful and the message is beautiful. I often think Mitch’s beautiful solo gets over shadowed as the first time viewers are understandably focused on the cards. I love the simplicity of the video.
Such a heartfelt reaction to a desperately needed message. This is probably their most powerful song - relatively simple vocals doing nothing to distract from a crystal clear message. So effective.
Your reaction to this song was the same reaction I had. They actually made this song so much more beautiful, and so, so pure of heart, that you cannot help but get emotional because their meaning rings true and you/me wish that more and more people would think like this! I love this version so much because that is how my heart and mind feel; we are all human and beautiful in our own unique way!!!
Thank you for re-posting this reaction Travis. I remember when you first posted this (August 20, 2021) but it was so good to watch the reaction again. Your appreciation of the entire video and your honest reaction is so moving. Thank you for sharing this. "Imagine" is one of PTX's best covers. The singing, the harmonies, the solos, the layering of the voices, the stacking to the wall of sound. Then the message of the differences and the similarities between them and the message of inclusivity and tolerance because we are human. John Lennon would be proud of this cover as PTX pays homage to the original music and then they take it to the PTX next level. John Lennon's message decades ago has translated into modern times addressing modern issues. PTX gives us sooooo much more than just their music.
I love this version of this song. Pentatonix really know how to pull the words from a song and bring them to life. I love their use of the cards. This song still resonates to what's going on today. I'm so glad you love PTX as much as we Pentaholics do! Another great reaction!
I'm so happy you finally got to post your reaction to "Imagine"...knew it would hit you hard. Truth be told, I was already crying like a baby even BEFORE your reaction started. I just read that one of my favorite classical/pop groups, Il Divo, lost one of its members. Carlos Marin died December 19th due to COVID complications. He was only 53-years-old. I love that group and I don't know what they will do now without him. Then, like a double punch to the gut, I also learned that Betty White died yesterday, December 30th. She was 99-years-young...would have turned 100 on January 17th. I loved her so much, especially in the Mary Tyler Moore Show and Golden Girls. So now I am very sad, and a complete mess AFTER watching your reaction. Happy New Year, Travis, Tea-Timers, and everyone! Here's hoping 2022 will be a better year for all!!
I know, Right? Speechless !!! This song is so emotional and powerful, and they just take it to a whole different level. And there is nothing you can do to prepare yourself for it.
This one hits the feels in ways that very few others can. Stills moves me after the millions of times I’ve seen it. Don’t ever quit rambling and blabbering - some of us do too and we love that it makes you who you are.
❤❤❤ oh ma sha I just wanted to reach thrush the screen and hug you . I cry every single time I watch this video or hear this version of the song. It is truly incredible. Amazing reaction
I cry every. single. time. And I've probably watched this 100 times. Because I have to share it with everyone. And I have to watch it every time, plus listen to that "wall of sound" before the last verse! And did you catch that Kevin is singing all the high harmonies?? Such a beautiful "upgrade" as you said. 🙂 Thanks for being genuine in your reaction!
As I watched this the first time when it came to the end it dawned on me what the message was and how impactful to show this wonderful group so different in their backgrounds and who they are as individuals but as humans they all work so beautifully together as humans. Loved your reaction, it affected me as a gay man and a human.
If any song hits your heart...it's this one. The video is perfect...nothing to distract from the message. We can only hope more people are finally accept this message.
Great reaction. Just how I reacted the first time I watched it. I have seen it more times than I can count now and I still cry sometimes, especially watching other people react to it. Thanks for bringing me back to the first time I saw it! They are incredible and this world needs their light!
I know this is a little bit of an older video but I just wanted to say this. I am so glad you reacted to this one Travis! the message in that song is so meaningful and powerful, I agree just like you said! :)
this version i have to say was the most emotional and beautiful one i have ever heard and seen i have heard many cover this song it is my all time fav and the message they added in their video took to over the top john lennon would have been absolutely proud of them and what they done with it first time watchin it i was in utter tears
I love to see a man demonstrate he has truly felt emotions. It's beautiful. Thank you for your honest, tear-filled emotions straight from the heart. We need this in this world now.
Travis...God doesn't make mistakes. You were perfectly made.
The thing I love about this is how the cards they're holding combines how they are connected to each other. I always need kleenix when I listen to there version of this song.
It's ok to cry at this song. I cry every time I listen 🎶 to this.
Your raw emotion says enough.
U may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one perfectly said
They sound like what I imagine angels sound like.
some folks were born to capture the essence of music ... such is Pentatonix ..
Yup. I sobbed too. It was Kevin who broke down my last bit of resistance. I truly believe he's their secret weapon. It's happened so many times, now...and I've been a Pentaholic since 2012. I recommend "Somebody That I Used To Know"...if you haven't heard it yet.

Great reaction to a powerful statement that John Lennon was trying to get across to everyone. Pentatonix brings it right to the heart..we are all human.❤️
Communism? That's something we don't need.
Well, I did it again, cried like a baby. This one gets me every time!😭
I think you mean oops I did it again
_Imagine_ is definitely my favorite -cover- upgrade that Pentatonix does.
I have vivid memories of the murder of John Lennon, 42 years ago - that's 2 more years than *his* entire lifetime. The shock and grief remain as strong today as they were then.

0h Travis, this is why I love your reactions, they come from your heart. I think most people feel this way about this video. Please keep it up.
Gotcha huh?… gets me every time too..
Me three. I just wish more people would be like PTX AND Travis, we need more love in this world ❤️❤️❤️
@@AnjeannetteMarie-Swifie4Ever Yup! We saw them live 12/16… Sooooooo good!
PTX is a true example of how people of different races, genders, nationalities, religions, & sexual orientation CAN work together, respect each other & live in harmony together (literally, in their case)! Appreciate the honest reaction Travis.

He did but it keeps getting pulled. This is his third upload
I get it Sonja I've been a mess all day and I didn't even know Betty White and then this song !! 😭
Same!

:D
Oh I second this!! He took me right back to my early ptx feelings. ❤🙌🏼
I just found him not to long ago and I LOVE his reactions💜💜 So genuine
Great comment. I just love him soooo much. Beautiful person.
Chris is awesome!
I'm enjoying watching his journey! 💖
Your reaction was so raw I felt instantly connected as humans. I'm watching as Russia is invading Ukraine & the beauty of PTX voices, the song, the message cuts deep in my heart. Subscribed & celebrating becoming part of this community!
Thanks for subbing and welcome !!!
You are correct---they are the best singing group EVER!
Travis... I love how you show your feelings..PTX makes me cry very often and that's ok!!
I've never cried listening to this song before, but seeing you cry made me cry a little. Every time I see someone else cry, I cry just because they're crying.

❤❤ **********THIS SONG IS SO BEAUTIFUL, IN SO MANY WAYS, & I CRY, EVERY SINGLE TIME *********** ❤❤
Travis it just shows u have a heart
They need to show this all over the world right now.
I cry every time I see this.
😭🎶🌏
This ☝️
Still my favorite of your reactions and I think I'd put it in my top 10 favorite of all reaction videos I've seen (and I'm a reaction junkie).
Thank you for putting it back up, it's worth it.
Much love.
Anyone who watches this and isn’t moved is dead inside. I know John would approve.
It's always been a very powerful song for me, and this is no exception. The message is more relevant today than when the song was originally released. I especially like the end where they express the message in written words. Of course, the only word that truly mattered was the last one, HUMAN.

It got me too man. all of their performances are amazing, but this one just hits hard.
Love your reaction, first time hearing this myself and I'm in tears x

I’ve seen this video sooo many times and you still had me bawling. It’s so beautiful and powerful.
So powerful 👏

Travis I’m a new subscriber and your reaction was #Legendary The reaction was amazing and the song one of the all time greatest
Thank you !!!
Such a heartfelt reaction to a desperately needed message.
This is probably their most powerful song - relatively simple vocals doing nothing to distract from a crystal clear message. So effective.
Beautiful reaction. God bless you.
So glad you finally watched it!!!
I was crying with you through this one\ I do not know how many reactors "take a moment " when reacting to this cover.
BEST reaction to THIS version of Imagine!! 👍👏
I react the way you did EVERY time I watch this. How we are all connected.
Oh my my first time hearing this song and video. I cried my eyes out. Angels missing their wings and halos
Oh Travis, your raw emotion bought me to tears. Thankyou
Yup. I hope you have a happy & healthy New Year ✌️💚❤️🎉🥳
Thank you for your very touching heart felt reaction. Hugs
I'm with you Travis so emotional. The best ever.
Music isn't supposed to do this to you. 😢 ❤ You're right: these are the most talented individuals on the planet.
I love this version of this song. Pentatonix really know how to pull the words from a song and bring them to life. I love their use of the cards. This song still resonates to what's going on today. I'm so glad you love PTX as much as we Pentaholics do! Another great reaction!
one of my fav reactions to this. thank you

Yeah, thank you! I knew you were going to cry on this one. I have several times now. Great reaction! 😁😁😎

Fabulous reaction. This one obviously hit you hard. You are not alone.
I cry every. single. time. And I've probably watched this 100 times. Because I have to share it with everyone. I was wondering when you were going to get to this video. I'm so glad you did! It's one of my favorites! We so need unity, etc. in this world.
Travis!!! You and PTX have me ugly crying in 2022! I JUST stopped crying about Betty White! 😭😭

Great reaction. Just how I reacted the first time I watched it. I have seen it more times than I can count now and I still cry sometimes, especially watching other people react to it. Thanks for bringing me back to the first time I saw it! They are incredible and this world needs their light!
I can't get through this song without crying. All of them are singing like angels.
I know this is a little bit of an older video but I just wanted to say this. I am so glad you reacted to this one Travis! the message in that song is so meaningful and powerful, I agree just like you said! :)
This one, along with Hallelujah and Bohemian Rhapsody are my three top favourite covers of PTX.
