Wonderful work on the hoppers and trash cars! Not putting down your tie piles but take a look at Boomer Diorama’s latest video on ties. After I watched that video I went out and shot about a hundred photos of tie piles in the B&LE Conneaut yard.
Nice video Dan, the ex general chemical hopper is very nice and something about it, I have seen a close reference to it in real life, MWCX 460404 I saw it on a ns train and it is always cool it see something in model form.
Cool projects! Warbonnet weathering can be hard if you don’t know how to mix the correct colors. I myself have modeled a faded bnsf warbonnet and probably made the paint way too thick but it works (barely). These prime for grime models do make these slightly easier but there is plenty of details in the fading that the manufacturers can’t catch. Can’t wait to see how you weather these!
Great video Dan. My favorite cars you weather are the garbage gons and old rust bucket piece of shit hoppers. I’d love to see you weather 40ft international ocean containers. I see lots of patch work on those.
hi dan... great stff to see and you give me tons of ideas !!! am retired now but still learning from you !!! question, dan.... at 29:45/36:03 i cannot help but notice your rail joiners are located directly above 2 sections of your main frame supports... i realize that your sections are probably bolted together, but shouldn't this be avoided anyway ??? just wonderin', dan .... please keep the videos coming for us !!!
Loved the video as always. Superb job as always with the weathering on the locomotives and rolling stock. Would love to see a running session video one day.
Beautiful work with the MRRX! Those are Greenville hoppers.

That trash gondola is incredible!
Great video. Those cars like ok like really grimy rust buckets. The locomotive looks great too
looks great nice work you should do that for a living👍
Nice work man. Hopefully you'll be adding some how-to videos of your process for weathering some of these cars. Especially the Thrall 4750s.
Great job again, hope to se you running some trains, how many cars and engines do you have
I'd send the AC unit back. Anything that hit it hard enough to bend and break the grate like that could also have done internal damage to it.
dan is to model trains what tiger woods is to golf. dominant would be the only word that comes close.
Would love to see a video on how you make a sagging gondola.
Best in the business...
Keep it up, Dan!!
Fantastic weathering.
Damn dude you're good! 👍
Very good job!
Awesome work.

That General American 4750 may be my favorite look of all the hoppers you have ever done. Outstanding work man! Always inspiring to watch your work.
