Hey i watched one of your older videos " Expediting Cargo Van Business | Straight Up - No Sugar Coating " and your bold, but honest personality is unmatched thanks! i got my cdl and want to keep in touch so when i can buy my cargo van we can get something going, im going to email you ( i know you dont need a cdl for this type of work but thats what im doing now)
Happy new year! I'm watching your vedios and I appreciate your feedback... I'm new to the business based on Vancouver, and would be appreciate your feedback if starting cargo van business is good move right now... Also I will appreciate your advice of how maintain consistent loads.. I appreciate your assistance and what you always share... Thank you!
If you lease on with a good carrier who can bid on freight for you then yes it's a good time, and if they're a good carrier they will keep you busy consistently... There could be days where there's a down day and u don't get a load.... That happens.... But Wa and OR are hard to get out of right now. Freight is cheap from this area
@ so I have a been looking into freight hot shot as well and I’m trying to figure out which way is less expensive to do and still make financial sense. So you’re a veteran in this field I’m a fan of your channel. So I just wanted honest direction. No fluff that’s why I asked you.
@@Eagle-Xpress I was thinking only otr that’s the only way to make decent money. Is there a video that you have made on all the things you need to start? That would help me. Are you accepting drivers?
Still made it home. Got a lifetime warranty on the alternator now it's in and we keep on trucking. So not always oem parts only. I'm not spending over 800 bucks on an alternator. It's not hard to replace it and this was under 300$ with lifetime warranty.
With electrical parts, you never know. I have a mechanic friend who is constantly replacing alternators and starters. He said they often don’t work out of the box or only work for a month or so. The parts are warranted but he has to eat the labor. No difference in the quality between cheap and OEM.
You hit the nail on the head. You've got to go where the money is. My internal drive and determination against inclement weather increases with increased pay rate. But common sense overrides my desire and internal drive when the math(rates) calculate out to say that I'm risking it for little return. The involved company(s) success it guaranteed, yet very little to gain for myself. Note; Lol. This is not just another whining rant. Seriously my friend, the entire trip, my gut is squeamish when running terribly under square, upside down rates. ( ___< $1.00 less) Black ice and .70c mile are a bad mix. Difficult to remain motivated. That is NOT .. "going where the money is."
Not a problem. There's plenty of people who drive for 80 to 85 cents a mile on average. Just gives the hard workers more freight to win when ur trying to bid the same load for $1 a mile.
I ran maybe 3 or 4 lengthy overnighters. From the night before, well into the daytime hours. Consecutively. I found myself in a remote Texas field, delivering parts for a new silo. Hot hot hot Texas weather. A blurr you get driving non-stop in the twilight zone. Everything just runs together. I had no idea how much I was pushing it. My dispatcher was given the okay to reward me with a fully paid hotel stay. And to make sure, it has ice cold air conditioning. Remote location. No franchise lodging in the vicinity. Blessed to drive for a compassionate company. A kind gesture that I will carry with me forever.

Mercedes sprinter 2500 or 3500?
Or 2500 and put 3500 shocks ?
2500. I've tried 3500 shocks. I like 2500 better. It's not as stiff.
Happy new year 🎉

Always great videos I’m searching for another business model. Do you need eld and would you recommend Otr in 2025 i live in Florida?
No eld and why not. If you like to drive and onjoy freedom of working when you want to or whenever you can afford not to work then yes.

Otr only. We don't even work with local or regional drivers. It's a big waste of time for everyone.

Yeap. You got what you paid for. Learned this the hard way. OEM PARTS ONLY
