      Good looking truck Rob, I have been considering the TRD offroad to replace my 2017 Civic touring hatch. The reason I'm trading in the Honda is that the CVT bugs the crap out of me. Don't get me wrong the Honda is a blast to drive I just realized I do not like CVT transmissions My Civic only has 7,000 miles. .. On another note, I heard and watched other youtube video reviews of the TACO that the auto transmission searchers gears while cruising the highway, this concerns me. Are you experiencing any issues with your trucks tranny needlessly searching gears ? I know you only had your truck for a very short time just curious. Great videos Rob, keep the updates coming...

    • @RobMotive
      @RobMotive  6 років тому +1

      +John Csunyo Thanks John. I’ve heard people complain about the Taco tranny..but I love it! I have been told it has to “learn” your driving style? Not sure about that, but mine has not given me any issues. I’d take one out for a nice long drive and see what you think. Thanks for watching 😎

      @@RobMotive After watching your video, I went into my garage and opened my side bars just to inspect everything. All was good and all the pieces were there as well. However, after viewing your bars, and then, viewing mine, I can see why your bars are more expensive; Better quality!! On my bars, the "mounts" are separate from the step bar, so they must be mounted first using bolts. Second, then the assembly can be mounted to the truck. I think we would both agree a single, welded mounting assembly is more ridged and stronger than a "bolted" piece.

    • @RobMotive

      Yup...I’d agree with you👍

    Very informative!
    What would you recommend if I have running boards already installed by the dealer and I want to remove them? My 2016 Tacoma came with stock running boards and when I tried to remove them, the nuts are stuck! I have my brand new Tyger running boards and I can't install them. What should I do?

    • @RobMotive

      You could soak them with WD 40. Could also buy a cheap impact drill👍

    These look nice, and seem more functional than the stock “nerf bars” with the plastic steps. The stock steps suck on my 2015 Tacoma. The plastic dried and cracked and broke and the pipe has filled with rain wanter and is rusting and sloshing rusty water all over the “nerf bar”, doors, mud flap, etc. I am going to drill some holes in the bottom to empty the water, and then maybe get someone to weld some metal plates over the holes on top. The design and build are cheap!

    • @RobMotive

    Looks great! Predator better than N-Fab? Did you install the mudflaps too? I like the tubesteps better than the flat "running board" styles. My FIL once had running boards on a conversion van and we had a good "gully washer" here in TX and the water would sling up from the front tires, which made the boards vibrate and block the spray and actually encouraged hydroplaning. I was driving and that was scary...so I pre the basic steps and perforation for better step grip also.

    • @RobMotive
      @RobMotive  6 років тому

      I like the Predator better myself. The mudflats were already installed. I like the looks of the Tube steps, but the boards are much more functional!!😎
