The running boards will save your truck from big bertha opening her door, That is why I bought mine.
It just depends on the other vehicle's door height.
Almost had a door ding today at my local Walgreens from said Bertha! I need to get something on my 2020 taco ASAP. These might work for me.

You brought out some good points about the Tyger bars: rubber washers & a slippery step when wet. What about taping off the bars for several inches from the flat step and spraying the flat step with bed liner? Great video and look forward to putting these bars on the truck I am getting in the spring!
I personally wouldn’t bedliner the steps simply because that’s not a look that I would want but if that’s your thing, then by all means. Hope the bars work for you once you get them on 👍🏽

I wonder if the adhesive on those patches would last long in my Minnesota climate.. the one thing holding me back is the awful stars and tiger emblem in the steps..

I was wondering the same thing Trey H. Anyone own these boards in states with nasty winters and road salt?
If you sanded down the step with som aggressive sand paper it would help a lot. Or you could use a construction adhesive generally any of the PL ones are good. Could even go with something like e6000 that has a little fed to the glue. Good luck.

Copped a set yesterday off Offer Up. Supposed to have been an open box return. Looked good and I saved $180! Tried putting them on a couple hours ago! Had everything set up for a quick install. And bam! It was a set of PASSENGER SIDE RAILS! Both rails were identical. I couldn’t see this through the packing when I did my cursory inspection bro! I didn’t catch it til right before install when I had it all laid out. I then confirmed it when I put them in place! Dude was cool about me returning them tomorrow but still! I pissed. Big waste of time, energy, and fuel. He lives 45 min away! Smfh. Wish I had just went with Amazon and chilled. But I wanted to save dough for an additional mod. Go figure.

I sold the truck before finding out but just by considering design and logic, they should.
They look great, but How functional are they?
They're side steps, they allow you to step on and off of them. In that sense, pretty functional.
I have these on my 2019 Tacoma 4x4 sport and have saved me from rocks. They do work and hold up great.
Debating on these rail but I want to see them sideways see how low is the bottom rail to the ground.

Crew cab as in double cab? If so it should but you may want to double check with the manufacturer. If you’re referring to the access cab, then Tyger makes a specific side step for those.
Hai Tran , yes it is the double cab. I believe the body is the exact same as the 2019 but I am trying to confirm.

You mentioned using rubber washers I guess that’s to keep a bit of a gap between the metal. Is there any flex in the Nerf bar when you step on it?

I’ve sold the truck and boards a long time ago so have no updates.
Had mine for 3 years now. Took them off to touch up the bed liner coating. Noticed they had surface rust on them so had to do a lot of sanding. I put 4 coats of bed liner on them and gonna give them 72 hours before I put them back on. Overtime the plastic caps on the ends let water in so assuming that’s what helped cause the rust. I plan on putting silicone on and around the caps before installing them back on the truck. All in all I love them just have to watch for rust and touch them up as needed. Hope this helps

How are the star armor bars holding up and do you find the step pad slippery on a rainy day without the aftermarket anti slip pad
I sold the truck awhile ago so can't give any updates.
How is the use getting in and out? I'm 5'7. I'm torn between these and drop steps. I like these for the ground clearance, and protection just not sure how they work as an actual step
Most sidesteps are largely useless in helping someone who has a problem with stepping in the truck without assistance. They sit around an inch lower from the door well so makes minimum difference. They just provide a larger surface area to step on but if you have a hard time getting in, in the first place, side steps like these are not really going to help.

Have you tried the Predators? I thought they were pretty useless. The surface area to step on is tiny and it only takes one slip...
@@HaiTran i had the N-Fab ones they are the same concept worked ok. but they started to rust after 2 years. the OEM Predator ones i found are $651 after tax. so i think ill just get these ones and hope they work ok

I would suggest to go to a hardware store. Any big box store should have what you need.
How many rubber washers did you use?
One for each bolt which should equate to 12 total.
