So many tutorials on UA-cam about sourdough make it a VERY complicated thing with lots of "do" and "don't"!
Dear viewer, don't be afraid to try to make your own sourdough starter! Eat real and healthy bread!
It is NOT complicated and sooo much better then all these industrial "bread" imitations with lots of unnatural adds in it!

In case you want to skip the vid and just get the starter recipe, here it is!
1tbsp apple skin (grated)
2tbsp bread flour
2tbsp warm water
Mix in a jar, pop lid ontop and leave for 4 days then feed with another 2tbsp water and 2tbsp flour. Use the next day or pop it in the fridge! Watch end of vid to listen to me babble about starter maintenance 😉💗

It's not babble. Trust me it's more informative and very easy to understand your great at articulating your process and how you make things you don't over complicate things, which is awesome.

The reference to communist countries is very realistic and I find it quite funny today! A bit more than 35 years ago we really waited in loooong lines to get what we needed! (Eastern Germany before 1989) Was less funny at these times...
Glad to see that for her bread the customers are willingly waiting on the sidewalk. It's proof of the quality of her products...

Thanks Kitty - as a sourdough convert, I have struggled to understand my sourdough-starter eating habits. Now I understand the weird liquid on the top, and I will just keep a teaspoon's worth in the fridge. Thank you! And please call the latest starter Harry, it is my husband's name! :)

I followed this recipe and my starter grew in only 2-3 days because I live in tropical country😂 it got hungry a little faster than I expected so I fed it 1 tbsp flour in day 2😂apple skin works so well and fast!! Thank you girlll

I was at the library recently and I checked out your book 'Breadsong' and oh my goodness! when I saw this video I was like "Oh wow! She has a UA-cam channel??" Immediate subscribe haha! I'm a sourdough beginner, so I've been getting into reading books and blogs about baking with sourdough. This has inspired me to keep going with my starter and not give up on it yet!
