So funny, Donnie worked well with him!
"I'll do anything to be compared to Bob Dylan" LOL!
Such a funny guy and razor sharp, brilliant...thankyou for the upload.
didn't know JCC had eyes!
What a legend! Great interview.
I first saw John Cooper Clarke at Essex Uni in about 1982 or 81 even alongside Linton Kwesi Johnson. I had never heard of either of them at the time. Didn't realise I was watching history. I love both of them. I saw JCC again this week in Worthing, West Sussex, UK and he was better than ever at 74. I laughed throughout his performance.
RIP Michael Hutchence
awesome interview. hes so good live thanks for posting
Great interview... Genuine warmth and wit... Thank you. I went to tech college in Openshaw in the 80's. Scary place. Man City's new ground is near there now, area has changed beyond recognition.
Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing...
Superb footage.
What was wrong with the way Donnie did the interview? He allowed JCC to read out his poetry - he allowed JCC to answer the questions and JCC did return to Donnie's program a few times after this show. Donnie is one of the few interviewers in the Australian media who actually researched the artists, gave them respect and took a genuine interest in the artists he had on the show.
And knowing Donnie Sutherland, I think your comment is quite unfair.
Thanx love!
thanks, mate
This is the first time I’ve ever seen his eyes.
Brilliant!
Excellent. He was out here then with The Saints and New Order, I went. He was the memory. He's just good at it.
Bloody hell, that's an incredible lineup.
These off the cuff intermezzos are even better than his official performances...We've got such a specimen here in Holland. "Jules Deelder"...Check him out,you won't be able to make sense of it though,it's all in Dutch ,but he came up in just the same "punk"period as Clarke.
He has done extensive work for charities... I doubt you've done as greatly.
He can say he is a survivor... I doubt you can.
He went out of his way to hand me the videos of interviews he did so I can put them on youtube... you haven't.
Artists like JCC returned to Donnie's show because they didn't see him as a twat... unlike yourself.
Re-think your silly comment about a man you haven't even met and quit being so judgemental and superficial.
There's something you can learn from 'T.W.A.T'!
Great stuff! I met him at a spot in huddersfield! made a vid and had a little smoke with him.. just a great chap.
I wrote a haiku to him yesterday saying come to Uddersfield!! Mad reading your comment... I wish idve seen him.
Interesting interview ~ mmm, entertaining
💎donnie
I doubt you've watched Donnie's other interviews and have only made your judgement of him on the basis of this interview - which I see no fault with.
And quite interestingly, nobody else has made a negative comment about the interviewer except yourself.
Donnie had been through some very tough times after his television career ceased and it took him many years to get out of the rut he was in.
mmm i love donnie
"John Cooper Clarke in disguise"
Disguise in love. With you.
JCC he is one funny guy, bloody hilarious
I guess the boomerang shaped record is the one that you`ll purchase whether you like it or not.
He's from Manchester.
Salford👍
Love Jcc's accent. Where's he from? Great sence of humour!
Salford in Manchester
how much gear has he had ,jaw goin like a super cooper
jaw going like a super cooper??
Are you bloody joking Saville's was from Yorkshire and Johnny's a Lancastrian !
No he's not.JCC is a Mancunian
1:07 I'm not convinced the host knows what "parochial" means. :)
Despite being parochial.
Donnie is a very nice man and he had gotten a lot of young fresh chicks in his day...
Are you speaking in 3rd person
He’s not Donnie.
Shit ! Bearing in mind Savile was a dirty nonce, I shouldn't have said it. ALL I meant was the voice reminded me of him, yeah it's a different accent ,but it just reminds me :-)
Upon what did the mighty boosh base their fashion. alongside them, these kids that have followed mighty so avidly. HOWEVER they don't quite have the panash or should i say comic intelligence!
Nice comment about the racist undercurrent in Australia, which isn't as bad nowadays but undeniably still exists.
Could have influenced the Sleaford Mods ?
Yuck.
I think probably, via The Fall.
wtf
His voice strangely reminds me of Jimmy Saville. Is he his love child ?
Bloody pretentious. Unbearable and sooooo out of fashion. He was ignoring Michael who Is always and always will be unpretentiuos, adorable, fashionable and modern.
Ana von Rebeur : Very well put mi amor!! Michael Hutchence was all of those things exactly. Ty
It's part 3 of 4, all the guests got a go.
