Cons after using this bag and selling it on: 1. The orange QAP colour doesn't fit with the overall aesthetic - light tan would have better fit. 2. The inside of the bag is a blackhole, because it's all black cordura 3, The bag slipped off my shoulders a bit due to the 210 cordura - it felt after a day like it was trying to pull to the outside of the shoulders and was sub coinciously shrugging my shoulders both two and one strapped to keep the bag on properly 4. The front pocket is still basically pretty useless. 6. Overpriced IMO.
Hi Danny, i bought the 26l version of this bag a week ago and love it! I then got a regular gr1 26l with the 210 back panel and QA panel to compare. I gind the cordura on them to be a little different.. both 1000d but look and feel a little different. The slicj feels more stiff or tight or premium and looks a little darker. Did you find that also?
I had a lot of back and forth with my goruck, Alpaka, dsptch, and good old Jansport, I always went to my bullet classic and Jansport hatchet. I own an original gr1 slick I have no problems with fit, but I do however don't like how it doesn't hold it's shape, I feel the regular bags hold their shaped because of the pal webbing, anyways😅 can't wait for my regular gr1 no qap pocket to arrive.
Love this bag. Used the previous version of the Slick with SCARS added shoulder strap MOLLE for years. Ordered this new version with QAP the day it was announced and had SCARS add shoulder strap MOLLE as well.
I was also unsure of what to use the slip pocket in the main compartment but then I found it’s the perfect spot for a folded flat rain jacket. Out of the way but easy access if it starts raining.

Would you prefer this bag or the CPL16 for an edc bag and carrying your laptop?
