Thanks for the info. I notice the button broke at the end. Ill make sure i dont do that
I miss the time where you could just replace the relay. Fast and easy fix. The way they make cars now is just ridiculous. Something like this shouldn't be this involved. Great video though! Not knocking you at all, just frustrated that I have to tear apart my dash. :-(
What do you think about now
Thanks for a great video! This was very helpful and now my son’s car is working right. I did not purchase the part from you but next time I will.
+William Hampton Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
I just now took everything apart and as for the 2 25 external torx screws a 4mm socket with longer extension works PERFECT for those. Anyway, thanks so much for the video. My blinkers started cutting in and out intermittently.

If you would have showed exactly where to pry at on the switch I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't have as much trouble rest of the video was great besides that part
+John Scott Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
I see you broke the hazard switch too lmao i just did mine and couldnt get it out and the assembly broke, and i see in your video as you put in the ignition cover your hazard switch is dangling lol
+TONELOWthaWRITER Thanks for the tip!
I have the exact same car and have ordered multiple parts from 1AAuto because of the videos. Question: just pushed the hazard button - which I always use when backing up - and the entire switch fell back into the dash, lol. Guessing this means that whatever mounts hold the hazard switch to the dash have broken. Does this mean I need an entire dash panel now?
I'm having the same problem on my 2001 Monte Carlo my turn signal light some times won't work unless I press the hazard button on for it to work an then it will works again can you help me
I have the same problem, did you get it fixed?
Oh, my comment was on my 2003 Monte Carlo SS.
Curious, would this make a loud buzz sound when used the blinkers. But would it cause to shut off the motor? Mine doiing that. Just started today 10.22.17
I just bought a 2004 Monte Carlo SS Supercharged, Dale Jr. car a few months ago and the hazard button was pushed in by the company that delivered the car to my house. Is this button easy to push in?
Does anyone know where I can get the actual button itself? The part with the red triangle on it? Mine broke off at the clips a while back and have no idea where to look for one online
+asgrd Did you try: www.1aauto.com/2000-05-chevy-monte-carlo-hazard-switch/i/1azmx00017
i would think an auto supply store ? or if your near a car junkyard sometimes you go in and just pull out what you need for a few bucks
Would this be why i get a buzzing sound when turning a blinker on . mine work then dont work i get the buzz sound instead then little while later they work. its weird i tell ya....
Replaced hazard switch but blinkers seem to short out and traction control and other mil lights come on and abs doesn't work. Then my blinkers don't work for a bit then everything resets and then try to use blinkers and repeats.
Aren't kidding about the plastic breaking...black housing the switch rests in snapped right off trying to unplug the connector. Had almost no force to it.
There is a video called “how to replace hazard switch without taking dash apart” on UA-cam. It takes two minutes to do.
That's for an Impala, this is a Monte Carlo.
Will it work for a Monte tho?
I have a 2001 Monte Carlo and the lever under the steering while to adjust it isn't coming out as easily as you make it look, I'm struggling with that
You may want to double check the bolts or see if there's anything different that might be holding it in place. It should come right out for you, as shown in our auto repair video.
I replaced the hazard warning switch and the problem with the turn signals still exists(both blink rapidly at same time). Any other suggestions?
+Clark Fredericks There could be multiple reasons why you're having this particular problem. We suggest taking your vehicle to a nearby reputable shop to identify the cause. Once you know the cause, we'll be happy to see if we carry the parts and how-to videos needed for your repair.
With them blinking rapidly you could have a turn signal in front or back that isn't working or maybe a faulty light assembly. I once got a brand new headlight assembly that worked fine but blinked rapidly because it was a defective part and I took it back problem solved. Just a couple of possibilities.
HOW ABOUT THE PASSEGNER MIRROR !
+Rick J We have video on replacing sideview mirrors on this generation Monte Carlo! Here's the how-to video you're looking for: ua-cam.com/video/liCah5q69iI/v-deo.html
All of my signal lights come on when i put a new turn signal fuse in. What could be the cause?
