I used to ride the 101 trolley back & forth to junior high school. The only times, that I rode it all the way to Media, was when I got called to jury duty, as an adult, and had to go to the courthouse in Media.
I like the horns on this trolley. If CTA put horns like these on its Skokie Swift L Cars the Skokie Residents would be freaking out and complaine endlessly.
@@NorthEastCoastRailfan These people in Skokie Illinois are very fussy and particular. At one time Skokie Residents objected to having 3rd rail on this line but later allowed the CTA to do so after noticing that CTA was having issues with wires breaking particularly in the winter months

The first one is for if you're on the inbound track and you are to switch over to the outbound side, the second is for if you're on the outbound track and need to switch over to the single track segment. Note the signal placement for each.
You're correct. SEPTA has said that they would replace the trolleys by LRVs, with additional planning to reduce frequency of stations. There were also plans for ticket machines like the River Line. However, it's unlikely that the money is there to replace the fleet right now. The scheduled date is 2024 for these changes. philly.curbed.com/2018/1/16/16882588/septa-new-trolley-proposal
North East Coast Railfan After Reading this, I don’t think these types of Trains would fit, to be honest and I don’t like that they are removing PCC II that’s a historic line , smh
The PCC II trolleys will only last so long in their current state. As much as I would hate to see them go, preserving an entire fleet of historic trolleys isn't very cost effective. I could see light rail cars on the 101/102/15 and not looking out of place, but not so much on the 10/11/13/34/36. They definitely should preserve one of them though.
The SEPTA base fare (cash) is 2.50. This allows you to ride all modes of transit except for Regional Rail, where your fare is determined by the distance. You can buy a SEPTA Key (4.95) and pay 2.00 a ride with discounted transfers at 1.00. If you are going for just a day, you can get an Independence Day pass for 13.00 and ride all modes of transportation, including Regional Rail free of extra charge.
@@NorthEastCoastRailfan Art some point they did raise the base fare to $2.75 year before last or in 2017 or 2018 but it ended up going back down to $2.50. I guess people were outraged about the fare keep going up each year and were losing riders. That's just my assumption but it is $2.50 currently.
Thanks to Biden many lines throughout the USA will be abandoned forever and ever! The PANDEMIC will shut down all transit for good. Remote and Zoom business forever!!!!!

Your intro music is hilariously ironic do to most Septa rail equipment being of Japanese origin.
That's not irony, it's coincidence.
The Kawasaki cars were built in Japan in the 1980s so go figure

You're the best UA-camr I ever know
Thank you, that means a lot to me! 😃
No problem!
Began watching, and was wondering what was up with the camera, given that the sides of the vehicle were rippling like waves.
Yeah, that camera wasn't very good. That's why I had to replace it recently.
The train ride sounds like we're in the subway.
This ride sure sounds like you're riding in a subway!!!
I’ve noticed that an unusual amount of initial d fans love public transit
I feel like I should know this, but I don’t. Is there an express trolley service on the 101/102?
The 101/102 trolleys do not run express services. All run local with request stops only.
North East Coast Railfan seems strange that it specifies a local service when leaving 69th. Throws me off when I hear that. Thanks for the help!
No problem!
Are there express trolleys/light Rail anywhere
Actually they do run express services it’s very limited only in the morning from 6 to 7Am and 3 to 4:30pm
