We have used 25 of the SSV series in 7500 size, for the past 9 years on charter. They have done more than 800 days of hard fishing, catching snappers and yellowtail kingfish. The only service requirement in 9 years has been broken bail arms, caused by forcing the bail open when the swivel has been wound tight to the tip. Apart from that, zero service, and the drags are still smooth. Never had this longevity from any other brand, the extra weight is worth it. We have Just ordered 20 BAILESS spinfisher 6500 V11, thinking they will probably be bulletproof
Amazing reels for the price range. I started with the SSG's and original Slammers, I've had probably 30 from 2500 to 9500. I got my hands on one of the Vi and started replacing all my reels with Vi and Vii. Penn has been stepping up their spinning reel game the past few years.
@@Nathan-hb3pu Of course but it won’t if you use it properly. It’s not a winch. Obviously it should be stainless pinion gear, brass main. Go buy a way more expensive reel and all the gears will be alloy…

Are the Spinfisher 6500LL preferred over the Shimano Baitrunner 6000D?

Whats the size of the one in your hand? Is that the 4500?
Are the spools interchangeable between the 6&7 in the respective size ?

But the bottom gear is still aluminium won't brass being a harder metal wear the aluminium?
Cheaper to replace the pinion gear than the main gear. Don’t wind against the drag…this is how to destroy the gears.

The clip part on spool are not like the Penn Spinfisher VII original, it look like you are scammed too, like me brother😂😂😂
