  • This was written as a commercial jingle to promote the new funicular railroad ride that went to the top of Mount Vesuvius in Napoli, but it instantly became an international hit song! The American lyrics were written and released right away, keeping the titular line but not bothering to translate the romantic lyrics about sweethearts stealing away to be alone, enjoying the iconic view. I decided to keep the whole chorus because it's so fun to sing!
