The most random thing that I never thought I would search for 😂
The tuning A D F# B is traditional tuning for ukuleles in northern Europe (Sweden) but we mostly us G C E A, and that goes for the banjolele as well 😉.
Although there are different tunings, we always tune a banjolele gCEA (reentrant tuning) the same as a soprano ukulele.
The Banjolele is generally tuned like the Ukulele but you have yours tuned up a step to ADF#B which is how alot of Ukuleles were originally tuned. Nowadays we tuned them GCEA.
Hello to you. I want to thank you for this video. I really enjoyed it. I just ordered a donner banjolele though I have never played a ukelele or banjo. Your take is very interesting. I got a ukelele for my husband for xmas though he hasn't played since he was a kid. He always has a tune in his head so theford I thought he needs to put his fingers to work. Then I decided to get the banjoele. I love the way you play yours. Im hoping to can get my old fingers to listen to my brain so I can at least play some simple tunes.
Really enjoyed the video. Was interesting to see the difference between the two.

I tuned my Banjolele to D G B E with Baritone strings - sound good

Your tuning is an alternative, but the banjolele is normally turned the same has a ukulele isn't it, ?

You can tune a 13" soprano GDAE like a violin or mandolin or a 15" concert CGDA like a viola or mandola, if you buy special 'fifths tuning' strings and the frets are metal. Aquila 30U and 31U strings have wound strings which don't play nicely with plastic frets.

That's the same interval change as tuning a guitarlele to standard guitar tuning.
People do that but it doesn't sound as good. You'll find UA-cam videos. I think it could be worse on 'banjo hardware' because the strings will be slack and you'll have moved outside the designed resonant frequency of the banjo head, so it's likely to sound dull.
I put DGBE Baritone strings on mine.
