That is what I love about your channel. You share new information about real world applications of the products you are looking at when you discover them. Thank you for taking the time to finding this out.
Interesting that the MC Pro and MT Pro tube with their internal CRMX receivers are about the same price as the cheapest dedicated wireless DMX receivers. Have you tried any of the less ridiculously expensive CRMX receivers like the Godox Timolink? Expect that CRMX receivers will eventually be available for tens of dollars, but we're not there yet.
That is really interesting. I just wonder what is different in the different cables that allow some lights to receive DMX, and others not. Surely DMX is DMX?
If my memory serves me, I've seen some Aputure representatives on their facebook user group describe that the cables are wired slightly different. I haven't had the chance to test each pin on each cable to figure out if this is the case myself.
If you can find a USB cable to go between the MC-Pro and the light you are driving you may be available to charge as you go, but the MC is not charging via the DMX connection
hey Andrew. have you tried using these as transmitters ? I don’t have the cables to try but the crmx chips is switchable from the crmx toolbox app same as a moonlight etc …
@@gaffergear i just ordered a cable - be interesting to see if TX is actually enabled - would be a good backup option if my primary transmitters are not available for some reason - thanks for your work Andrew

the difference is only $6USD so its definitely worth upgrading. Good form uploading an explanation video!
Thanks for the follow up Andrew!
GOAT & Gear. Another one

I have the godox here but yet to test

The specs suggest at least two differences. The more expensive cable is an active cable, and has a built-in DMX/RDM chip.

@@Trevellian that makes sense, I'm also guessing some sort of amplifier.
hi, anyone tried the mcpro as a crmx reciever
and monitored the battery lifetime using it while the projector is not outputing light ?
thanks
Andrew could you post a link to the two cables? Thanks
Class act!
Will this charge the MC as well or are you limited to the battery life of the MC before you lose connection?
If you can find a USB cable to go between the MC-Pro and the light you are driving you may be available to charge as you go, but the MC is not charging via the DMX connection
will the mc pro as a receiver be charging off the forza 60c simultaneously?
I haven't thought about using the USB on the Forza to charge the MC. I can't see why not
Have you had any luck getting this to work with the MT Pros?
Aputure lists the same cable for both, and they were released around the same time. Guessing both have exactly the same CRMX internals.
@@TrevellianI'll quickly do a video on this, I've been testing this morning and things must have changed in the firmware since my review

They definitely can because they have Timo Two chips. But I have not tested
