not sure you'd really use it as a transmitter often though- since you probably want to still use the 600d as a light. and signal is limited between ur controller and the transmitter.
Always great information Andrew. I was wondering if doing this would replace my need of a Sidus one. I want to buy a set of MC pros to use as lights and receivers but now wonder if I can use of these mc pros instead of Sidus one. Might be completely wrong to think this will work but wonder if it will connect to the app.
I have a Sidus One, but if I wanted to set up an elaborate stage production that requires multiple universe, I could use one of my 600Ds as another universe transmitter?
@@frannyfranman If you can get a 5 pin XLR DMX signal into it from that universe. Yes. I'm assuming no firmware changes have happened in the light when I say this.
In transmitter mode, does the timo two in a aputure light (or any other for that matter) connect to multiple receivers or is it a single 1 to one connection. Thanks for the super informative videos.
I still didn’t really understood the difference between art net and crmx in all day use. Why are you using lumenradio or for which system should I go ?
@@gaffergear thank you for your answer. Would be nice to see a video if you know something. The internet isn’t that full with information about those systems. As far as I understand the technical details, scan and artdmx have the best capabilities and artnet is license free.
@@gaffergear Not an expert myself, but hope this is helpful from my own research on this. Art-Net and sACN is for sending DMX over ethernet cables and can handle tens of thousands of universes (versus DMX cable that can only handle a single universe). Art-Net is older and sACN is a more modern protocol. Probably useful to know those if you're a board op handling multiple universes. Also, if your iPad is talking to a RatPac AKS via hard wired ethernet or WiFi, it's using one of those protocols to send DMX. I was trying to do this to use a 600c as the transmitter and get the 600d to receive and it didn’t work. Keep getting an error when I try to press link on the transmitter in the 600c
hey can you check out the Ecoflow Delta Pro portable power station. I heard it can power entire house, mybe its good to power all the light without getting any engine noise like traditional power generator do
Hey Andrew, I might be doing something wrong here, but I don’t see any ‘link/unlink’ option. Also, I have two 600ds, 2 vortex 8s and a Nanlux 1200c on with 2 timotwos showing and the Nanlux. I’m wondering if I’ve misidentified the lights or if there’s been some firmware update since you posted this video…what do you think?
@@gaffergear no, I'm basically just trying to follow your video step by step to use my 600d as a transmitter so I don't have to rent an aks while I decide what transmitter(aks, exalux, etc) I want to buy.
@@gaffergear Will do. I only have one and have been thinking about adding some. Potentially using them as both TX and RX makes getting more an easy choice. Super handy tip, thanks. I just picked up a 600D and didn’t realize that I also purchased a hidden Lumen Radio receiver inside of it for free!

Me: "Hey you, Mr. electrician. Go back up that ladder and link that light." See Andrew, the technology was always there.

if we turn that 600d to transmitter like u did, can we still use the 600d manually or via bluetooth/sidus link app ?
I don't know about the app, but you can run the light manually and via the DMX being fed in.
Great video as always. (How do you print your name on the fixtures?!). Stencil and spray paint?
I made a stencil and use a paint pen

Just to clarify - The light / device must be in LumenRadio mode for the CRMX Toolbox app to connect, not Bluetooth mode.
This stumped me at first!
Thanks for the heads up on that. I always have my CRMX on
How can I find the lights which uses Timo Two module inside other than 600D...?
They are the only ones that appear in the app.

Yes, if you can get the DMX in via an adaptor cable
