I just replaced the fuel filter on my sisters Superb. She was stuck 100km from home on a Saturday. I watched the video and picked up a filter and had it replaced in less than 10 minutes for a cost of €20. Thanks a million.
That was brilliant, so simple and straightforward. I'm going to attempt to change it now. I've the same engine, which stutters before starting. Hope it fixes the problem.
@@wawayltd that is very correct. My cars usually fall apart but with all mechanical components in perfect condition. My cars always hit 300000 miles before the body fails.
The vw 1.6tdi changed fuel filter housings and systems somewhere around 2014/2015 the early one has an o-ring that has to be changed with the filter this type can be primed with the key 3-4 times on off,the newer type has to be filled manually with diesel or primed using a diagnostic tool or vag com👍🏼
I just had a look in manual that I have from Skoda Erwin.. It's so hard to explain. Also they are different Euro 5 and Euro 6. I thought it would be something like my Sharan. Nope! At some point in the future I need to make a video. At the moment it's confusing for me. I need to see manaul and the engine at the same time. Meanwhile I can recommend website that contains Skoda manuals from manufacturer: erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do
I think you can, most of dirt stays in filter. I just like perfection. Even if you leave fuel, probably you still will require some top up for better start.
My fuel filter was changed 2 years ago (bosch). I did 23000 kilometers. In the meantime I bought a new Filtron (polish brand) and wonder if it the time to replace bosch or wait until I got to 30000km ?What do you think? What fuel filter intervals do you prefer?60, 30 thousand?

Thanks 👍 I hope it helps.
Good work draining out the old diesel in the housing.
If you care about your car, it starts caring about you. 😎

My VW Sharan is on 402.000 miles. We keep going.
You the best.
Great teaching.
Thank you for your help.

You're welcome 👍
Do you know where is fule safety button (reset)? My car cranking bot not starting. Fule is cut.
There must be a fuse, but I don't know where it is, sorry.
What happens if you turn the ignition on and off a few times? Would that bleed the air out?
As far as I know this method doesn't work on VAGs after 2009. It's either filling filter or bleeding via software now. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

@@wawayltd thanks you so much my is euro 5 diesel
I recommend to get manuals from that website, otherwise it's hard trying to explain, especially if I don't understand myself.
Good video. Can you leave the fuel inside when you put new filter in?

Best to suck it out & clean the housing. Grit is sure to be in the bottom.

Hello, I do it every 30.000km.
Nice video, is it the same for the gasoline versions?
Thanks 👍 Gasoline is different. I would expect a fuel filter to be at the back of the car, somewhere by the tank.
Nice one, thanks mate
Thanks. Few more coming about this car..
Hi, can I fit a fuel filter with a separate o ring seal in a Skoda Octavia 1600cc diesel 2011.
Thanks in advance
I used to have 2012 Seat Altea 1.6tdi. There was a separate O-ring on a filter housing lid. If you have the same - just fit it as it was before.
Nice one, which version of Vagcom have you got?
It's current version is 19.6.2 and I just noticed that it's asking for update. I have full official version currently limited to 3 VINs.
Thanks. 👏🏿
You're welcome 👍
That computer program looks cool.
VCDS, very common for VW enthusiasts. Thanks 😎👍
Thank you
