Just get the surgery for it. I know 2 people who have it and the surgery totally fixed it. I'm going see my neurologist in 2 weeks about scheduling my surgery for it
Amazing short crispy and clarity video on trigeminal neuralgia . I also had the Trigeminal diagnosed by my dentist. MY GP them put me on Amiltriptilyne which was uselss. Now taking Tegretol (Cabapazine) which works for most of the time. I have been taking it for 4 years.
Try tumeric, magnesium oxide, and fish oil. 2 of each. Try tilting head to opposite side of pain. Pop your ears/unclog if you know how. Take a hot bath with curtain closed. Drain your sinuses however u can. A half a benadryl sometimes helps too. Take an ice cube and just rub all over your cheek but be careful with it
Thank you Dr. Furlan. When I worked as a dental nurse , I have seen couple of patients with pain on one side of face, sharp , excruciating pain like an electric shock even while washing their face, slight breeze as well . And when the dentist takes x rays and rule out there is no infection or couldn't identify any cause then they used to refer the patient to GP for Trigeminal Neuralgia.

I have TN and was initially diagnosed by my Dentist! I took gabapentin for years, but of course, I ended up maxed out on it. Now I'm on pregabalin and it's working quite well!
I hope this medicine will work for you. Usually all these medicines gets used to with our body and doesn't work after some time. I have all these medicines these work for few months that's all
This is anaphylaxis of the facial nerves. Caused by mast cell activation disease. I take Pregablin, Tylenol, Zyrtec, Montelukast, Metformin, and Zaditor eye drops. The attacks have lasted an hour, now they are mild and short. This disorder has a allergy signature.
Would love to see a video of Post Traumatic Trigeminal Neuropathy or Persistent Ideopathic Facial Pain. Regular TN sufferers have many resources, but there’s a dark abyss full of people suffering from post traumatic trigeminal neuralgia, persistant ideopathic facial pain, or Type 2 TN. Often times, it is caused by dental procedures, and they usually have no idea about or how to treat it.
Thank you for your comment. That is a good question/suggestion for a future video. Have you seen my website yet? Check it out www.doctorandreafurlan.com

Hi Byrute, I don't have a video for peripheral neuropathy only. But I do have a video of treatments for neuropathic pain, which would apply to peripheral neuropathy as well.
My Trigeminal nerve pain started 8 years ago a few months after I took the Zostavax vaccine. It felt like a blip on the radar and came every few months. Now it seems to have settled at the edge of my jaw, and stays most of the time. I’ve been checking online and came across a medical article that talks about a link with the Zostavax vaccine. After I took the vaccine I got a small breakout of shingles on the side of my face twice. I don’t think my trigeminal nerve pain comes from any tooth issue.
Thank you for this. I had surgery in my right ear to remove a very large cholesteatoma and reconstruct of my ear drum. I have these symptoms. Is it possible ta nerve has been compressed from the surgery?

Hello, doctor, I have a question to ask. After my mother was diagnosed with herpes zoster last year and was hospitalized, she had trigeminal neuralgia as a sequelae, so she underwent blocking surgery. After I was discharged from the hospital, I felt a little pain in my ear. This lasted for more than a year and is still hurting now. I take pregabalin every week and it still hurts a lot after taking it. I went to the local hospital to see a doctor. The doctor said this was normal and needed. Take medicine for life. I don't know if there is any other way to cure this. My mother is suffering from this neuralgia.

I developed trigeminal neuralgia 2 and a half months after receiving a root canal. Along with arteritis - an inflammation of the artery just above where the treatment on the tooth was done.

Can these same symptoms be caused by sinus issues or eustachian tube disorder? I've had horrid pains in those exact places in the right side of my face and keep getting diagnosed with sinusitis and given meds that don't help and give me side effects. A few years ago I had the opposite side of my face go paralyzed and it didn't behave like Bell's Palsy bc it started on the other side and moved to that side but they didn't find the cause. I feel like inflammation is pinching off this nerve but I don't know. Allergy meds don't make it stop and it's truly debilitating now.

Try 600 mg over the counter of Alpha Lipoic Acid ( antioxidant). Takes pain down by few points.
