If people don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.
Agreed!!
Just asking, if I say that something isn't my taste, is that acceptable? There's lots of stuff that I see that I don't like for me. There's a lot that I can say is nice, gorgeous, but won't work for me, simply because size, style, shape, color. Which is honest. I grumble because I will love something, but it won't love me back.
Absolutely.. That’s what my Daddy always taught me.
No need to put yourself in hostile places. Life is to short🤗
I live by that. Why take the time to be unkind when it’s SO much easier to be nice. I just don’t get it. 🙄🤦🏻♀️🙏🏻❤️
After I retired from the military I wanted to finally do something fun with my hair because anything other than more natural colors wasn’t allowed…anyway i went with blonde with the tips dark purple. I was shopping one day and this man in his 70s looks at me with a disgusted look on his face and asks me why I would do that to my hair. I was shocked that he felt he had the right to ask that. I’ve also had a guy say something about my jeans with holes in them too. You were absolutely right….nobody’s business and speaks volumes to the type of person they are.
Also, I’m pretty sure there’s no expectation of privacy at an open flea market like that either with the woman that was upset you were recording
I'm happy you didn't let the ruin your day and you went back into the Flea Market! Keep being the happy, bubbly, polite person that you are and don't let those mean spirited people bring you down. :D
And also good to listen to your gut, take yourself to a safe place, and take a breath.
You're so sweet I almost started crying when you were talking in your car about judgemental mouthy people. I'm having a mental health day myself. I need a day to decompress from all the ugly out in this world. Glad you're home and safe. Happy Thursday have a great day! 😊🌈
I hope you both feel better , love from Ireland .
I live in Central Florida and my daughter lives in South Florida in the Ft. Lauderdale area . Every time I visit her I am appalled at the rudeness of some of the people down there...its like stepping onto a different planet . The difference in the two regions of the same state is remarkable to say the least . I'm sorry you had such a bad run in of rude people in our state....we aren't all like that 😉.
Yes South Florida is a different beast. Honestly I think it’s a lot of people that have migrated from NY or other countries that live there. I live in Central Florida too and people are more laid back and polite here.
Florida is chock full of those transplants.
@@r.c.miller6161 and they keep coming lol
Orlando in the house, and you are so right. Some areas of Florida are just rude and ignorant, just like many other states.
West Coast Central here, and I totally agree about the rudeness level in Ft Lauderdale area. Next time Kayla come to my side. Weeki Wachee. 10 Mi radius you can hit like 15 thrifts, maybe more. ❤️
NO WAY!!! Let me first apologize on behalf of all Florida Natives for the rude and disrespectful mannerisms of those who were so harsh to you. People can be so cruel and often times is what formulates us for who we become.
Not all of us are mean- please know that. Keep being you and showing us Floridians that you are the real MVP Kayla. You inspire so many of us and that keeps us all going.
XOXO
It’s almost funny in a depressing kind of way that everything that could’ve went wrong at the flea market did. Scammy booth, random lady yelling about being filmed, creepy guy commenting on appearance. It’s the the perfect storm of rudeness and craziness.
I am proud of you, Kayla, for going back in and not letting them get to you! You are a beautiful soul!
Kaylee, I’m so impressed by your courage! You step out of your comfort zone quite a bit on your videos, and you show all of us what is possible if we do the same. Don’t worry about people’s opinions or words. If you do right you will always have confidence.
May Jesus continue to bless you and your family!
Thank you for sharing your life with all of us! 🙏🙂jill
Btw, If you think you are just a homeschooling picker rethink that thought! Your uniqueness is blessing so many!
I am forever impressed by you. Don’t let the wackadoos at crappy flea markets bring you down. 😉 I admire how you vent in the moment and then carry on with your day.
So proud of you, my anxiety holds me back so much as reseller and in other aspects of life. Keep showing that bravery. ❤️
Same
I get stressed when I am followed or someone wont stop talking to me while I'm shopping. I understand how you felt.
You handled this so well Kayla! What happened to you brought back memories of what happened to us once - also in Florida while on vacation. We were at an outdoor sale where a large amount of vendors were set up under canopy tents. My husband and my son were looking at some items on a table, when suddenly a small antique heater sitting under the table fell over. No harm done - nothing damaged at all - it landed softly on the grass. The booth owner came out loudly screaming at my husband telling him to get out and that he didn't "belong here." He told her he would gladly leave and said "You got one thing right Lady, I don't belong here." LOL....
Kayla, good for you for going back in there! It’s so empowering to rise above the noise and nonsense. My motto: what others think of me is none of my business❤
You are blessed to live where you live - everyone is SO much nicer. Here in New York you must develop a thicker skin in order to survive. So proud of you that you went back in and am truly in awe of your ability to find so many wonderful items in the short time that you have been selling. Great job as always!
I live in Arkansas, but have traveled a lot. I tend to think that people in the South are nicer. Not everyone of course, but on the most part.
@@kathyroach4660 did I say here in NY?
I live in Arkansas and have never been to New York. Guess I made a mistake. I tend to do that in my old age!! Sorry
@@kathyroach4660 i think you meant that for candace goy. she left the comment about "here in new york" :) it's all good.
I’m in Rochester NY and you’ve got that right! Ha ha
You are brave to hop on a plane go to a place by yourself traveling around town. You go girl!
Independent women ALL THE WAY!!❤️❤️❤️
I was thinking the same thing. I was like that in my youthful years.
I have never traveled totally alone.
You’re an inspiration. 👍
Your not making any money flying around the country buying Junk. Overhead flights and hotel rooms food. All to make 3 bucks on used shoes lmfao. UA-cam is making the money here. It's not a viable business. Lmfao!
Stay strong girl. Sadly there are people like that everywhere you go. Must have miserable lives. I know you can handle it so keep on doing your thing. You always seem to pull out a win with your picks.
Sorry that happened to you at the flea market...People can be cruel and rude, and I'm happy that you pushed yourself to go back in. It literally brought tears to my eyes when you described the situation, because I too have been there. Stay the kind, happy person you are and I wish you and your husband continued success! Love your channel!
You go girl! You’re seriously my spirit animal! I’m so sensitive and awkward in situations like that! I would have left immediately you’re so brave!
I’m so glad you went back in because you are a boss lady don’t you let anyone get to you because everyone that watches you knows what a beautiful soul you are don’t ever change ❤
I like that you were so transparent with us. I’m also proud that you stepped out of your comfort zone. Congratulations!!
You're such a kind person, Kayla, which is one reason I love your videos. Glad you didn't let those rude people ruin your whole day!
You were right down the street from my house (before the swap shop). I can hook you up with any shipping you need to do if you get lucky and can't fit it all in the suitcase! lol And now I see you are home. South Florida takes some getting used to.
I’m sorry people were mean to you! But I have to say, you have come so far since I started watching your videos! Yay Kayla 🌻 I also loved your choice for lunch- all my favorites! Safe travels and enjoy the rest of your trip 😊🌻
I did the same thing at my first visit to a new to me flea marketthis year, I freaked out after my first walk through because of similar issues. I was alone, strange people, weird vibes. I didn't buy a thing, went back to my car intending to leave (after driving over an hour to get there) Then I gave myself a pep talk, went back through and ended up having a good day of buying and found several people selling that I knew! And the people I bought from were so nice. Sorry you got yelled at though. Thought I would share so you know that you are not alone with the apprehension.
I’m so glad you didn’t let it knock you down. You went back in and proved how strong you are ❤ great job 😊
Aww Kayla sorry that happened to you, gotta shake it off. I work retail and get yelled, verbally abused everyday....everyday, know it's not you they are unhappy in their life and just want to make everyone else miserable. You know you did nothing wrong. I have taught myself to feel sorry these people as they probably had a tough life. Anyway I always enjoy your video's keep smiling, your the best.
Absolutely.. I spent 30 years in retail Management and let me tell you if you can survive retail you can survive anything. I pretty much looked at peoples attitudes as you never know what a person is going through unless they start cursing me and then I have a problem with there attitude.
I worked retail management in both merchandise and restaurant and let me tell you, you thought you get abused on the merchandise side of retail well, OMG the restaurant side is 1,000 times worse!!! People were INSANE and the things they thought they were “allowed” to say to us workers, it totally blew my mind 🤯
@@shannon_w. I can only imagine how hard restaurant work and management is. I have two granddaughters that has worked in the restaurant business one in management and one just as a worker and they have told me quite a bit of stories. I think that people can be the most cruel things on earth. They have so much hate in there life it is sad. 😢
I always enjoy your videos! I started reselling in 2021 and you were one of my favorite you tubers and you still are! You are real and kind! I admire you for doing this trip solo. I am 61 years old and have never done that!
Thank you Darlin' for telling people to keep their comments to themselves. You are so right. It just shows what a jerk, and a bully they are. It's cool to be kind.
Wow, that flea market was crazy! Good for you Kaylee for going back in and conquering! Happy 2023!
I have to say, I could literally see and feel what you were feeling after that woman yelled at you! Major Kudos to you for gathering up that courage to go back out there! You won!
Strangers are so rude nowadays!!!! I'm sensitive too like you. I even hate going places alone. I never use to be that way. Be safe!!!! I love your videos.
Awe Kayla! I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience at the flea market. I'm like you, I probably would've cried or something. Especially when that guy was insulting your outfit. 😭😭 We just have to try and forgive those folks and pray for them.
You can film anything you want to out in public. Those people at the flea market can't have any reasonable expectation of privacy in that setting. I am a sensitive person too, Kayla, but I can't tolerate a bully and that's just what she was. I'm not sure I could have walked away from that one! 🤬
I just looked that up too! The Flea market is in public. The comment about pot (also can't stand that) makes me think the people hassling were paranoid that you were a cop! Lol
She got upset because she is guilty of cheating people. People get defensive when they know they are distributors of FRAUD!! Shake it off! You are a beautiful person and the genuine deal. She was the problem, not you! You are GREAT, Kayla and deserve so much more. Great pickups!! Keep the faith!! Blessings!
Kayla, as you get older you don't let those things people rudely say to you bother you very much. I was just like you, I would rather walk away, OR my greatest wish was to have a great comeback to them on the fly, I could think of a million things when I was out of the moment. But you are a sensitive soul and I understand.
Please don't be upset, we are all with you, you are very positive and motivate us!!! It really hurts to see you upset!!! Good luck in the New Year!
Those negative people got to her, it happens. 😢
I can relate to this video! I would feel mad nervous in such a negative atmosphere. Even though I’m a fairly independent lady, I’m also sensitive and it takes me a minute to compose myself when people act crazy towards me. What’s making me laugh is thinking about how you could turn these scenarios into a “Florida Man” headline. Florida Man Stares At Woman’s “Holy”. Jeans; Thinks He Sees the Virgin Mary. 😂 For those of you who haven’t heard of this before, it’s a funny trend to Google “Florida Man” and your birthday to see what nutty headlines pop up.
You reminded me of how brutal it is in south Florida, I’ve lived here for 6 years now and it still shocks and upsets me how mean people are. Very selfish mentality. And a large majority of the population it trying to scam people, instead of making an honest living.
Amen sister! I used to be a people please who let people speak negative into me. BUT NO MORE! It says so much about how miserable some people are. I love your transparency and your courage to put yourself out there. I wish you did 2 times per week. Lol!
I've had seventy three-year-old great-grandmother I've had surgery on my shoulder and I'm just sitting around and walking around through the house so it's nice to be able to watch you and your video I love watching you you do a good job and I see where you're coming from when people say things that are not nice don't pay no attention to him because it's like you said it's their problem not yours should be able to wear what you want to without people commenting on what you where you keep up the good work I love watching you you make my day
I’m proud of you for stepping out of the comfort zone. I am the same, super anxious and extremely sensitive. But I learned a long time ago that you have to stand up for yourself. People are shocked when you pop off after that man’s comment or the flea market troll. They are bullies and they expect no one to say anything back. Try it next time! You’ll feel more empowered, even if you just say, “ bless your heart.”
Or you could have said to the guy, "Ok Boomer" 😂😂
Girl! Congrats on tackling the anxiety! You are absolutely right in that the uninvited comments are a sign of the person’s inner conflict and issues. Love your upbeat, fun, and hard-working personality😊😊❤️👍👍👍🙏🙏
Oh bless your heart for pushing through all the harassment there at that flea market. You were braver than I would have been!!!!!!
KEEP YOUR HEAD UP MY FRIEND!
YOU ARE ENOUGH!
Kayla you are so right. I am constantly amazed that people can't just mind their own business, and rude on top of it. I'm sorry you got yelled at like that, its like that in bigger areas.Unfortunately I do let things like that deter me, so good for you that you went back in and tried again, especially being by yourself. Keep your head up girl, your doing great. I wish everyone had a big heart like you, it would sure make life easier. Oh, and great finds, lol.😉
I was scared for you at that flea market. I’m relieved to know you’re back home.
I love watching you and your family and I have learned so much!!! Thank you for sharing your adventures, knowledge and for going above and beyond to help out us newbies. I wouldn’t be advancing in the reselling area without your videos.
Bless your heart! What a terrible experience. I'm glad to see you safely back home. 💜💜💜
Good for you for going back into the flea market! I am also sensitive/anxious so I know what that took to go back in ❤️❤️
I love how happy you were about your lunch! It was so cute and definitely my kind of on the go lunch
DUDE! so glad you went back in there!! I know it's hard to do. You will be an inspiration to lots of others. Take that to heart.
It's awesome you composed yourself and went back in! You will look back at this experience and be very proud of yourself!
Bless your heart Kayla! I would have been so uncomfortable too! It's amazing that you went back in. I'm glad you're home safe and sound! ❤️
You are amazing! I am so anxious and have a really hard time getting out of my comfort zone. Peopling is hard! Good for you to go face the uncomfortable! You are an inspiration 👏
Good for you for going back in! I'm so sensitive too and I let things get to me so I would have probably cried. But you did great! I wish you had new videos EVERY day! I LOVE your videos!
I been watching your videos for about 1 year and I totally agree with you. People never look at themselves with the problem. I'm sorry that you had to go through that. Love you and your videos.😊
I lived In Florida for 17 years, people is so rude. I moved to California 4 years ago and it was the best decision ever :)
You are a brave person, please always remember that ❤
You go girl. Your bravery is something to be proud of. I enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Kayla, I relate to your experiences so much!! Everything you said about people and their rude comments is spot on!
Proud of you girl, I remember a time I let the intimidation stop me. Hey I use to set up at that same swap shop and would make hundreds , lol 1980’s
You are so good and the most polite youtubers , and be you and that’s what we admire about you.
You went back in cause you are learning to be strong!!! I’m awful proud of you!!!!👏👏👏👏♥️
Bless your heart! You did better than I would have. Glad it paid off for you to go back in!
Ugh... I wish I could've warned you!! The SwapShop is the worst flea market EVER... It's always so chaotic. Sorry that you had to go through that
What the HECK with these rude people! Thanks for a great video and sorry you had to go through dealing with angry people. Some people want the entire world to know how bitter they are. Great job going back. I wouldn't have been brave enough.
Good for you, turning the situation around. I'm glad you are so nice. I probably wouldn't have with either of the two. Keep being you it's why we all come back to watch.
Watching all these videos now I'm always more aware of stuff when I'm at garage, yard, or estate sales, I noticed a lot of thrift stores are starting to research what they have.
"You go girl!!"
Glad to see you go back in.
GOOD FOR YOU! Going back in and being "Brave"...but agree there are times it is better to walk away and not go where you are not comfortable. When our "spidey-sense" goes off, there is often a reason. Love your content!
Where are you? Where in Florida? You are bold girl. And complex trauma from childhood abuse and or neglect. Makes us incredibly sensitive to conflict. It’s the way our brains are wired, it also makes us incredibly empathetic and kind to others. Got this girl.
Good for you girl for gathering the courage to go back inside that flea market. I’m like you very sensitive and anxious and I honestly don’t know if I could have gone back in probably not. I’m proud of you for standing your ground! 💕
Enjoyed seeing what you found! So sorry you came across some rude people 😒 I moved to north Florida about 10 months ago, and so far I've met a lot of really nice people, but the opinionated, rude ones are everywhere unfortunately! Don't let them get to ya!! Just smile, be yourself and walk away if you have to. You are so sweet and kind, so it's on them..... By the way, Happy new year to you and your family!!
Welcome Home Fellow Kentucky Gal! I live just south of Louisville and things are just different here in the big blue state. We wave and talk to everyone and that's what makes you special and enjoyable to watch. Keep your head up and your smile on your face!!
Baby, don't let people make you feel less than who you are. You are awesome. And you show that EVERY day. Just laugh at those fools and move on. That's THEIR insecurities, and if they can bring someone else down, it only makes them feel better... and if you're not packing heat, listen to your gut and don't walk in places where you're uncomfortable. You make me proud... all my love, Gypsy Willow Treasures (Teresa)
That Faith Farm one that you went into with all the furniture. Go back and walk into the building on the other side of the parking lot, then go upstairs there, too.
So glad you went back. Never let what other people say or think keep you from doing what you want to do. You are amazing!☺️🥰
Saw you visited Faith Farm in Ft.Lauderdale. The actual thrift store was on the other side of the parking lot. They have clothes, shoes etc
I know I’m late to the party but I’m just discovering your channel and am already a huge fan! I’m a Kentucky native and lived in Florida for 12 years and it was rough 😣 I could never have been a reseller there. In lovely NC now, back to my country roots, sweet people, and lots of amazing finds! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, I’m going to keep binging your videos 😆
That one store had some crazy prices! I just started buying to resell over the last 6 months, but have been trying to learn brands and prices for years. The place I went to today was selling items for $15-$25 that would have sold pre covid for more, like $3-$5. It doesn't make sense when they say they get soo many donations they say they can't accept more on a regular basis.
I’m so proud of you for going back and being courageous. Amazing job kayla! You’re such an inspiration to me✨🤍
I'm having a super terrible day today so just wanted to let you know that I've been binge watching your videos because you guys make me happy :)
I hope tomorrow is better! You are amazing ❤️
Kayla, you are beautiful created in His image. Hope the rest of your trip was filled with awesome people…you keep shining regardless.❤
Don't let anybody run you off or talk crap to you stand your ground ! Glad to see over come it ! Prayers gor safe travels
Guess when something seems too good to be true... it is. I would not be able to sell something to someone that was not the real deal. You just keep doing your thing and do not let people ruin your day or this trip. I always learn new items to be on the look out and very thankful.
Glad you decided to tough it out at the flea market , im the same , sensitive , people do get to me at times , but so glad you didnt drive away !
At Faith Farm, you needed to into the other building and go upstairs, that is where the thrift store is.
God bless your precious heart. I'm so proud of you for going back in. I'm so sorry that there are such people in our paths. God puts them there for His perfect will, for us to learn something that we don't know just yet. Maybe to toughen us up a little bit at a time. Keep on truckin' girlie!! Love your videos and have watched several now.
I’m sorry people were so mean/rude to you! Good for you for being the bigger person and not letting them steal your joy! I appreciate you and all you do to share knowledge with the reseller community ❤
Some people are just miserable. Sad! Just shrug it off.😉 Keep going! You are doing great!
I would not ever go to a flea market like that without my husband. No way! So you did great. I am very bold and not sensitive but boy if someone did that to me. I would be shaking. ❤. Thanks for being honest. You are my favorite to watch. And I learn all the time from you. 😊
Aww. Kayla this actually made me tear up. I’m sensitive too and I was feeling your pain and worry. You are always so kind and upbeat it made me sad to see you upset.
You are completely wonderful. Please don't ever change a thing. I am sorry that happened to you, and you are right, THEY are the problem.
Sure is a bummer when you run into those types of people, plus when you are not in your own familiar area!! You sure did find some goodies!! Thanks for sharing!!! 🤗♥️🙏🏼
Good for you for going back 🎉
Aw, Kayla! I love ripped jeans and hate rudeness. Hopefully you won't have anymore rudeness or conflicts in your shopping. Way to push through and keep going!!! Love watching your success!
Lord Kayla I am SO glad you're back home!! LOL Some of them there Floridians weren't so nice! lol. I was experiencing some secondhand anxiety right along with you hahaha. I was thinking Lord I wish I was there with you too so we could tackle our anxiety together lol. All of the 27 years I have been reselling on eBay I have only went sourcing out of state one time BUT I did meet up with another reseller from MASS that I knew from online and we had a blast!
I will never understand why people think it is their job to criticize others on their looks or attire. I think people feel free to sit behind a computer and criticize so it is spilling over into face to face interactions. But you are right it says more about them then the person they are criticizing. You just continue to do you girl because you are fabulous.
You continue to inspire us!!!
Good for you Kayla going back in!!! That chick that yelled at you was a bully and we should NEVER BOW DOWN to that type of person. Proud of you little sister.
Many Blessings,
K.T.
I’m proud of you for going in again!!💕💜💕
Kayla, I'm a newer subscriber of yours (and Matt's), and I'm going through and watching many of the older videos you guys made separately and together. I just got through this video today, 5/20/2024. Let me say that I am so sorry you had to deal with the negativity from the Florida folks in that swap meet (16:20). You did nothing wrong, and did not deserve that. I'm glad that your "big girl panties" allowed you to move on and win out over their meanness and unkindness towards you. Never allow that kind of mistreatment to sway you away from doing what you love to do. I have watched enough of your videos to know that you are a sweet, kind, thoughtful human, and way more gracious than me, because I would have had words to say right back to that lady! Of course I would have regretted it later, but oh well. You will never be able to please every single person you meet, because every single person is not built with the same kindness that you possess. Keep doing what you love, and stay kind to others, even if they can't reciprocate it! Keep making videos for us!
