Hawaii Five O-Light My Fire
The Ventures are Don Wilson.Bob Bogle.Mel Taylor.Gerry McGee.John Durrill.
1969 video sure they looks so young but (very poor lip sync video)
R.I.P..TRINI LOPEZ . Unforgettable Brilliant Singer,Actor, Composer, GibsonTriniLopez 🎸 My Eternal Idol..Forever In My ❤️ 15/5/1937...11/8/2020
You're right Mery, he was an outstanding entertainer, a great man !! Cheers from France !
@@gerarddelgrande Thanks so much.. cheers from Canada🎸🎸
RIP Trini Lopez
Love it even though the Ventures weren't playing live except for Mel. Mel was the best drummer ever.
I am so lucky to find this video in UA-cam, of TRINI LOPEZ with the Ventures.. A very awesome show and a great performance of my IDOL🙏
Best band ever!!!!!
Wow! I had this LP and it was a great favorite, I had never seen the show (or any part of it) until now. Great!
THE BEST SHOW......AMAZING TRINI LOPEZ & THE VENTURE!
"Here they are...The Bentures!" I bought the Trini Lopez Show 33 RPM album at Federal's Department Store, Willowick, Ohio, in 1969.
First time I see this one.
Woooooowwwww fabulosooooo!!!!! Don , mel Bob, gerry
Trini Lopez can cover what he godamn likes plus it rocks & he's a zillion times hotter than you'll ever be!
Tsunehisa Koide 71
Sempre eu toco as musicas desse cara muito bom..
Eu também! Ele é muito bom!
Lopez w the boys very cool, I know many Latin American people are BIG Ventures fans too; Trini knew he had to "try to set the night on fire" (since Jose Feliciano beat him to it) & he couldn't borrow The Doors, so he got The Ventures (Doors' Robbie Krieger loves The Ventures. OMG Watch Don! :) During 5-0 Mel really goes to town on ghosting his own drum action too. Thank you for finding this!
The Ventures WoW!
I was just listening to a Trini Lopez 45 yesterday!
Hello Weedsan,
Very cool!
Regards.
Tom.
The ventures
It was the start of a new ventures sound with unique personalities, and I think this lineup was the most enjoyable live performance.
Hi there Ventures of Trini Lopez Show, Mel and Bob, John Daryl And even if you play, I really nostalgic. I want to go back, if you are able to, but I put it closed to memories it. Precious video, thank you!
Takashi
SICK JAMS !!!
Very cool video!
Lots of *********
Great video, despite all of the audio defects!
I like mel and leon
THE BENTURES

Trinidad's belt is unique!
in sorry.mi fan of trini lopez.tanks.
wow, the Ventures playing Gibson guitars and a Hofner bass! lip sync or not this is still a great clip! Mel Taylor, what a drummer!
Thanks for the post.....
Well.
You got your hands on some gold here!! Thanks for sharing... this is awesome!!
Great live version! What a treat!
It's not live.
Def not live
Looks like it was specially recorded there or somewhere.
It was never live back then on TV shows. I grew up in 60s.
The second song is definitely live and not pre recorded.
Gooooooooooooooood!!!
There weren't many videos showing
Bob playin' a Hoffner bass but here's
one.
TV Show de 1969, édité aussi en LP
Bom,muito bom!
0.36; i'll have what he's having thanks!
1969.The Venture with Trini Lopez Show ...post the whole show please
thanks.i fix to 1969
To my earlier comment-I love the Ventures!
Trini Lopez is trying to be cool, but just failing miserably.
The Ventures are cool.
All in all a good clip, but Trini is outclassed!
Very Good Point!! ;-]
the ventures using gibsons?! WHAT!? O: unheard of
No The Ventures using Mósrites always
That cut was a studio cut. They badly synced to it. The guitars on the cut were definitely Mosrites.
What is the first music called ! Where can I get the better version of this music in UA-cam ?
Hawaii Five-0
This is GREAT 👌👌👌👍...Where can I find the full concert?
I don't know where to find.
Yeah, but isn't the second tune "Light My Fire" actually the Ventures playing in the background?
Yes, The Ventures is playing in the back...
tenho em cd.
no.your fan of trini lopez.tank you.
yes and Gibson guitars? what? this is the Ventures.!!! Something rather unusual here. its always mosrites, jazzmasters etc. Very strange somehow.
(...regardless of their chops and whatever else is goin' on behind the scene, these guys always seems closer to Ray Conniff than to Cream.)
LOL!
Is that Joe Namath on the drum?
....three words.... "no high hat."
Great live version? That's some of the worst air drumming on Mel's part. These guys were master players. Why the lip sync routine?
how could they. there is no plug . means guitar is not plug into nowhere
only sound of tambourine is live sound?
Tricky. The guitars aren't even plugged in.
Is that Bruce Johnston on keyboards?
really don't know who this person is. or could be John Drill from The Ventures
@@weedsan21 Thanks. Must be John Drill. I wasn't familiar with him and he resembled Bruce Johnston so I thought maybe Johnston got mixed up with The Ventures for an appearance, but since The Ventures had a keyboardist at times that must be him. Anyway he resembles Johnston but doesn't' look exactly like him, so it was a guess on my part.
It's John Durrill, who left the Dallas, TX-by-way-of Durant, OK band The Five Americans before they broke up in 1969. He wrote "Dark Lady" for Cher, and "Misery and Gin" for Merle Haggard, and was, along with MIke Rabon, and Norm Ezell, part of the three-headed main songwriting team for the Five Americans.
that makes lucky you isn't it
your his son ?with same Last name
Is not the same last name...Lopes with S is portuguese and Lopez with Z is spanish..
Lol they’re not plugged in
how could they. there is no plug . means guitar is not plug into nowhere
Bob Bogle
Who are they kidding ? There is not a single Venture player in the bunch .
The audio is WAY OVERMODULATED.
IT'S COOKED AND SOUNDS LIKE SHIT.
Someone should redub it as they are playing to the recording anyway.
Terrible version of "LIGHT MY FIRE"
Wow what an awkward period in time this was. It seems like everyone was way out of their elements. The Ventures trying to look like the Beatles and playing instruments that had nothing to do with their sound. Les Pauls, SG's and Hofner Bass is not the sound of the Ventures or Surf music. If you tried to play Ventures music with those instruments it would sound like a wedding band. They were "playing" those guitars to an album track that was recorded with all Mosrite guitars. The guitars weren't even plugged in and the Ventures looked ridiculous in those clothes and hair styles. As a big life long fan of Trini Lopez I have to say I am embarrassed for him on this one. Light My Fire has to be the absolute worst version I have ever heard. I am totally embarrassed for Trini and the Ventures both look like fools.
Hey Blackie, Those are the guitars that The Ventures were playing at the time, after they abandoned Mosrite. And, Hawaii Five-0 was a #4 hit for them. They didn't like being called a Surfing band, but they played a few surf hits, including this.. one of the greatest surf instro's ever. Nowadays, it's the only one they played that average people recognize.
The mist uncool guy (Trini)trying to be cool and just embarrassing the totally cool Ventures.
this is poor lipsinc video. never seen anything poor lipsinc as this one.
