Hi, how to check if my skates are heat moldable if I bought a second hand? I have a lugino pair just bought recently

Would need to check the instructions when applying boots to feet from the manufacturer. I suspect they would advise to stand as your feet tend to expand outwards once you have weight on them

Viktor, after heat molding of a boot I have empty gaps on the sides of speed skate boot, it's a gap between boot and lateral or medial malleolus about 1 cm. Is it okay? Or should I need to heat mold my boots again? Because I had a callus in my Achilles's heels, maybe it's because those gaps on the sides of boots?

would you recommend aquamolding / heat moulding in the oven for custom boots? My custom boots still don't fit me well, even after expanding 0.5cm, and after practice, i can't remove my boots without tearing the skin on my ankles / getting blisters.
This video was awesome and is really useful as well! Thank you for sharing!

I’d recommend going to a shop where they heat your boot and vacuum fit them. Cooling down while under pressure leaves you with a much better fit.
Another tip is neoprene socks. Made a huuuuge difference for me. I use MyFit 2mm thickness.

hi victor my daughter has speed wheel cityrun shoes the right size is only the ankle that comes off, how do I make it so that the ankle doesn't loosen and fits on my daughter's feet, can I use a heat gun, please let me know, thanks

I highly doubt that this works well. What I myself did is to use external pressure during the molding process. I also made wooden bits the shape of the ankle bones to that I create specific dents in the shoe by clamping these bits on the shoe.

Thanks for do the video, however could you please do a video on how about how a speed skate should fit....I hear now and then about how some skaters didn’t realise they had skates that were a size to big & didn’t realise until they skated with a smaller size or different brand.
I personally just bought a pair of skates and I’m not sure if they fit perfectly or not...I think they do, but how do i tell???...my ankles can rock a tiny bit side to side, is that the from the slightest bit of slop in the boot or is that my weak ankles fresh to speed skates???

I have this problem too. I think my skates are the right size, but I can't tell if they feel a bit wobbly because of the fit or just because I need to learn how to balance better and strengthen my ankles.

@@Rib5 well, a year on and some skates later. I can tell you that not all skates are the same and a higher price doesn’t mean a better skate/fit. ALSO, frame position plays a BIG part of how the skate may appear to fit. Everything can feel wrong with a bad frame position and same goes for technique. Both can cause foot pain you think is caused by an ill fitting boot. Long story short, you have to do the miles and just learn through trial and error what works best for you. Maybe a coach could short track the journey as he/she might be able to tell from watching you skate, what’s causing issues. My advice is to try some different boots, frames and number of wheel configurations.

Hey I've been skating on quads for several years and I'm going to buy inline skates for my birthday any tips for a quard skater ?

Being 10 months on, you’ve already probably bought your skate, but I’d say to make sure you know what sort of inline skating you want to do. For example, I bought aggressive skates with an extra set of frames and big wheels thinking I’ve got everything covered, BUT that’s doesn’t work in practice. I soon realised I like speed skating making my aggressive skates set up(s) useless! Then I bought a cheap pair of speed skates only to want to upgrade VERY soon after. So once you know what you want to do, just go straight to the top end & get quality skates even if you break the budget a bit. Otherwise you’ll spend a fortune upgrading & upgrading. The old saying goes - buy cheap, you’ll buy twice!
