The band is not a joke. They might've been acting a little silly here. But they were a MASSIVELY musically talented band before the lead singer, Michael Hutchence died. 😢

i do hate the video. so many faces, closeups, cuts over cuts, cringy dance moves by the band members. it should just be michael with the camera.

We lost Michael Hutchence back in 1997. He was very sensual - he loved good food, good wine and his life. In 1992 he was physically hit by a taxi and fell back onto a curb. No more taste, no more smell in that instant. His demeanor was depressed and angry. It took the living out of his life. Very sad.

Michael Hutchence was a HUGE sex symbol back in the day. We are talking Jim Morrison levels of swagger here. INXS ("in excess") were a simply brilliant band, and he was iconic as their lead singer. The lighter moments of the video are them just being aussies, having some fun while doing it. But this song and video were both considered super hot back in the day. Can't help feel if you had given it a chance rather than talked the entire way through you may have latched on to the vibe. Oh well.

IN - X - S What you saw was only half of the video we watched on MTV. In the MTV video, which won Video of the Year in 1987, they combined Need You Tonight with Mediate. @brittreacts I will also say the video you watched was a mash up. They filmed the silly parts and all but it was then decided to go a different direction and they filmed the more serious parts. This is just off the top of my head, so I am unsure of the sequences. I know it was 2 videos mixed together, then of course, Mediate was added. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
INXS is one of the best bands ever. You need to listen to more of their songs. Forget the whole PDC thing... check out their music.

When this came out, yes we would’ve said the lead singer was PDC worthy. IMO, the music video makes the song because you see him. We liked the slide and the vibe.

Britt… INXS were, are & always will be one of greatest musical exports out of Australia. Back in the day, their concerts here would almost always be sold out & Michael Hutchence, the lead singer, was quite the “ladies man” ✌️😎. “IN-EX-CESS” (easiest way to say their name) are Aussie rock legends 🤘😉. Your views on the group would’ve changed dramatically had you been able to go to one of their concerts 👍😌🇦🇺

Girl, Michael belongs in the PDC Club hands down. I am a straight male and Michael is PDC worthy. Women definitely threw their panties at him and all men wanted to be him, (catching said panties). INXS (pronounced "In Excess") has a huge catalog. The one I like is "Original Sin" Nile Rodgers helped produce that song. The lyric that gets me in Original Sin, "Dream on white boy, Dream on black girl, and wake up to a brand-new day!" This one hits well, being I am an interracial marriage for over 30 years!

Sadly Michael took his own life. Bono wrote an amazing song about the loss of his friend in which he expresses sadness & anger at Michael for his decision… Britt, you should check it out. It’s called “Stuck in a moment.” The song won a Grammy for performance by a group or duo in 2001.

INXS one of AUZ biggest exports.. HUGE BAND!! I've seen INXS Four (4) times, three (3) times with Michael Hutchins {Lead Singer} and once (1) w/ JD Fortune! Such a Great Band!! So many hits, Michael has an amazing voice.. Mystify, Disappear, New Sensation, Original Sin, Suicide Blonde amongst many of their hits!

You absolutely butchered this song. This was a number 1 global smash hit. You talked over it and paused way too much, which ruined the flow and therefore could not catch the vibe. I'm not sure if you are aware of this function, but there is something called a rewind button and as a professional Reactor, whenever you pause to talk, maybe rewind so that you can catch what you missed. Nothing wrong with the music video clip either, the lead singer is dripping in sex appeal throughout the footage, so I think you were watching something different!

Definitely not subscribing to the channel, your opinion is yours and that's not a problem but what annoyed me the most about this reaction is the amount of times you stopped this song to speak instead of just letting the song breathe... I prefer reaction channels that don't interrupt at all and then comment at the end, or if you absolutely have to, stop it about halfway through the song, give your view up to that point and then let the rest of the song play out. Mid 80’s and it wasn’t a joke or funny. Sometimes the videos were just trying to be something different at the time. Iconic song and iconic group. Of course I remember mid 80s but i graduated HS in 89’and this was not a new song.
