-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.com/album/4Dao8y... - Фільми й анімація
It’s hard to explain to people not of that era how big this band was in the 80s
Yes! They were literally one of the top 3 bands in the world at that time. It can't be understated how popular they were & how many consecutive hits they had, and great MTV videos they had one after the other.
Exactly. Saw them in 1985 in Springfield, Illinois. It was worth traveling a couple of hours to see the great MH. May he RIP.
They were insanely good live.
Came here to say exactly the same thing.
Good Time Tonight, One Thing, such great songs! They definitely had a sound of their own. A’s all around!
Get these people in the rock and roll hall of fame!!
Michael Hutchence was a frontman for the ages. Every cell in his body radiated otherworldly charisma. At some point, y’all definitely need to watch a video of him to get a real glimpse of his greatness. And please, please, please make “Don’t Change” your next INXS reaction. It is perfection.
The Wembley stadium show is a must
@@kayelle8005 without question!
Don't change still my favorite! Been on my playlist before there were playlists.
I was thinking the same. Gotta see a video of him.
Every cell?!???
Don't Change, The One Thing, Devil Inside, Kick, Mediate, Mystify, Suicide Blonde, What You Need, Listen Like Thieves ... you've just barely scratched the surface of INXS bangers!
All of these!
@@maeric9 SUICIDE BLONDE
Ya I think there are some bands like INXS where it makes sense to just do deep dives and go directly to listening entire albums, instead of trying to figure out which of 50 great songs should be next on the list.
Don't forget Original Sin.
and "Good Times" featuring Jimmy Barnes!!!
that man was simply gorgeous.
Pure Charisma ❤
I sense that the boys are missing just how sexy this song is. Wearing headphones and hearing some of those lines up close … could make one sweat.
please marry me!
This was at the height of MTV. It’s one of those song that has to be accompanied by the video to get the full effect.
Absolutely!
Outstanding video!
i’m 21 and to me, the video is the way to consume the track. the song stands on its own, but the video taught me what i though cool was
That’s not a good sign if you need the music video in order to like a song imo
The video enhances the experience of the song! Especially 80’s with the popularity of MTV. There are some amazing music videos that are very creative and fun to watch.
This is one of those songs where the video is EVERYTHING.
This song is a masterpiece, & so is the video. You guys need to see the video.
One of the best concerts I ever attended.
Mchael Hutchence owned the stage! he was that dude!
I met Michael at a recording studio in Sydney in the late 80's. I was a teenybopper and a girl at my school had a neighbour who was 'in the biz' and told us where to show up to meet the band. Michael was one of those celebs who was even more godlike in person - not many are. He was very sweet and kind to my friends and I, and even randomly started speaking significant amounts of Japanese with our Japanese exchange student friend. Good memories.
“What You Need”…hit it next!
Have you played 'What you need' back to back with 'Waiting for the man' by Nazareth?
❤😊❤
Absolutely! A monster groove, basically a funk rock track. And that sax is historic. Better than 'Need You Tonight', IMO.
Definitely. Also Kiss the Dirt from the same album
Longtime INXS fan here! Y'all gotta listen to Don't Change. Kick was their huge breakthrough monster smash of an album, but Don't Change off their 1982 album Shoobah Shabooh is the bee's knees, as the kids are wont to say these days. Give it a spin. You won't be sorry.
Yes!!!!
Don't Change vote!!!
I don’t think I could say it better than Raggett said in his review of the album Shabooh Shoobah:
But if "The One Thing" is grand, "Don't Change" is just flat out fantastic, one of the best album closers ever dreamed up. Soaring in on a just dreamy enough synth line from Andrew Farriss and then a quick guitar burst, the rest of the band then explodes into action -- it's some of the best rock-without-apology-or-quotes sound anyone could ever hear, crisp, fierce, and clean. Hutchence takes charge of that action like the vaunted frontman he was, delivering one of the more cryptic but still just right romance lyrics from that time with aplomb and fire. The chorus is simply killer, while the concluding, extended calls of the title phrase over the song's last notes make up the icing on the cake.
I agree. Watching the 1982 film "Reckless" with Daryl Hannah and Aiden Quinn made me an INXS fan. "Shabooh Shabbah" was featured throughout. "The One Thing" was the first song of INXS I heard. I also saw them at the US Festival as they broke here in America.
Yes, “Don’t Change” was their best.
Then the Grinspoon cover, which is awesome.
'Devil Inside' is another great
💯%!!!
Beautiful Girl is the polar opposite of Need You tonight, and every bit as beautiful and important. LOVED INXS and MICHAEL HUTCHENCE ❤
Live at Wembley Suicide Blonde otherwise you'll never get to see just how popular this band was in the late 80s - early 90s
100 times this.
INXS was a hit machine at the time and their stuff stood the test of time with flying colours.
I"ve never seen anything like that. 200,000 people bouncing in unison. Spectacular!
@@Lionize728whoever came up with the idea to put harmonica at the beginning of that song is a genius.
@@Lionize728 definitely spectacular..but was 73k ! Still looks amazing seeing them all bouncing as one!
New Sensation, that is such a better song.
A+ for me! Always watch their videos when I listen to their songs. Best frontman…oozes sexuality!
I appreciate how the two of you let a song play and then react to it. Lots of other channels interrupt in the most intense part of a song. INXS rocks! Nothing else needs to be said about them.
RIP Michael Hutchence...one of the best rock voices of all time!! If you can, find a live version of the band. They were phenomenal
"Don't Change" has got to be the next one!
💯👏👏
Ya’ll ..Please do the long version called “Need you tonight Mediate.” If you don’t ,you’ll be missing a great ending,👍✌️
That’s two different songs played back to back.
That is spot on. Yes, 2 songs. Butt they were always connected.
they did mediate on a live stream
All I am saying is... Just like people got used to We will rock you/ We are the Champions... MTV and many radio stations connected Need you Tonight/ Mediate, to the point where we got used to it that way.
I’m still trying to memorize those lyrics lol
Don’t Change and The One Thing are bangers
Back in da Eighties, we got together to dance all the time. It was a dance floor smash. Steady groove, call and response, DJs were spinning it everywhere. Plus, M TV. INXS fit the times like a glove.
It's hard for young people today to really grasp how much time we spent on the dancefloor when we were coming of age in the 80s and 90s. Music to make you dance was a huge part of our lives then.
You need to see him actually perform it to really get the full vibe.
Great dance club song. This is an extremely underrated band, imo.
In the 60s it was Jim Morrison, the 70s it was Robert Plant, 80s Billy Idol, and 90s Michael Hutchence. They all had a special appeal for us ladies 😍🤩
I agree with you there. Except my 80s pick would've been Jon Bon Jovi.
Billy Idol ? eEchhhhhh
@@tinalinge2782 Actually yes, JBJ a better pick, I would add Steven Tyler too, not for looks but definitely had the same charisma.
@@AP-gb3eh He was Hot in the City 😄
"One of these things is not like the others...".
Billy Idol....or Bon Jovi for that matter...no....
I'd say for the 80's Prince maybe....or Simon LeBon (Duran Duran)...maybe Steve Perry.
Not a lady, so I can't speak to that. But I was looking at charisma in addition to talent...No homo. 😂
INXS was a tremendously versatile band -- so many of their songs are different/unique:
The One Thing
Burn For You
This Time
Don't Change
What You Need
Original Sin
The Swing
Never Tear Us Apart
I Send a Message
( ... to name but a few )
If you watch the video, you’ll see just how damned charismatic Michael Hutchence was.
"There's somethin' about you girl, that makes me sweat!"
A line that will only work for a rockstar... 🙄
Michael Hutchence is so memorable. Thank you, MTV. "What You Need" is another catchy one from INXS that gets you on the dance floor...or living room.
Loved this song as a kid. I was 10 yrs old when it came out.
Man, back in the day, when this song came on, you knew the dance floor was about to be packed.
I strongly recommend "What You Need".. and it's award winning official video. It's higher energy, and just better all around, imo 👍
I can SEE the video when I hear this song… still.
You can’t just listen to INXS. You have to see Michael do his thing. Absolutely one of the greatest frontmen ever.
Still fills the dance floor at any bar, anywhere
Great band
New Sensation must be your next INXS reaction. However there are so, so many to choose from.
If they would have heard this at the time they would have loved it, they're spoiled by being young and having so many highly produced songs that they don't realize what a gift this was at the time
Very true 👍
As soon as I heard this again I thought yeah - INXS blows away so much modern music. Just classic and awesome forever. Still sounds fresh to me after all these years.
You won’t be disappointed. INXS Suicide Blonde live at Wembley.🤟🏾🤟🏾
I have to agree with all that suggest Don’t Change. It’s INXS on their rise to superstardom- however, I would also suggest Original Sin, their first #1 in Australia and first charting hit in the US. Nile Rogers produced and left his funky fingerprints on it including the use of Daryl Hall’s vocals.
I saw INXS at a tiny little club in Fort Worth Texas. I had to use my fake ID to get in. I was 13 I went by myself. None of my friends wanted to go. They were all wearing orange jumpsuits. And they were awesome.
I think it was in 81 or 82. It’s not even on their gig roster. It was a club at a mall not even joking they were awesome. They were a real band not just electronic music.
To understand how huge this song was you have to watch the video. Because everything was about the video at this point in time video really did kill the radio star.
It is an excellent video, but the hotness of Michael Hutchins cannot be downplayed .
One of the most requested videos ever. MTV completely changed the way we listen to music.
Omg they played at that place outside Ridgmar Mall?
@@vincentjoyce5100 holy sh*t yes!
You would’ve recognized me as
A girl with pink blonde hair. Black tube job. (I wish I was kidding) black, parachute pants
And a spiked dog collar!
It’s a small freaking world
Did you go to Heights?
@@vincentjoyce5100 no I was a navy brat. My mom was from Aledo She grew up there. She still lives there. So I lived there for a little bit then I lived in Haltom city I lived in Arlington so we moved around a lot. you mean Arlington Heights HS in FW right? Nope I stopped going to school in the 6th grade.
You all handled that rating diplomatically. This Song is played with next song which morphed together perfectly.
I remember my sister buying the album in vinyl and every track being fire! In my opinion, had Michael not died, they would've been bigger than U2 just because of all the elements they applied in their music, including hip hop (Mediate). Can't wait to see the full reaction!
I have always felt this way!
They were huge and popular and talented but nowhere near u2s level ..ever
@@haileyn4219 Never said they were. Read again. I said they would have been.
Put every song on this album on the wall. Throw a dart and that’s my favorite song from this album.✌️✌️✌️
Don't Change, Dancing on the Jetty, Devil Inside, Listen Like Thieves. Some of their best stuff. I think you can't go wrong with any of those 4.
Dancing on the jetty
Brilliant
Mediate needs to be played along with Need You Tonight. It just goes together...Another favorite is What You Need. Don't Change is a good one, and one of their early ones that is very enjoyable.
Have you hit New Sensation yet??? The dance floor filled UP every time that hit the rotation at Jimmy Zs !! Devil Inside ? INXS is always a serious nostalgia hit! I always think of my 74 Bug and backroads at night after my shift at the restaurant!!!😂😂😂😂 ❤❤❤
Finally! Love this band ❤😢😂😊🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
Another one to watch the video for...one of MTV's top rated videos. Then watch the Mystify video - goes from the studio to live performance...amazing!
My favorite band in the 90s.
The riff is magic, the voice whispers in your head long after the song is done, the theme is universal - you’re lonely, you know it, you see that someone and it might be love, but at very least it’s true lust at first sight. This song makes me feel reckless and alive. ❤😁👍
INXS was and still is one of my favorite bands. I'm so sad we lost MIchael Huthence. He was soooo incredibly sexy and had a great voice. My friends and I were all in love with him back in the day. I'd recommend these songs next:
"Don't Change"
"This Time"
"Not Enough Time"
"Mystify"
"Beautiful Girl"
I always love when they come up on my playlist.
"Dont Change" is your next listen for sure. But my go to INXS tune was one of their later tracks, "Elegantly Wasted". Even use the guitar riff for my ring tone. Love this band
Definitely Don’t Change.
I saw INXS open for REM in Athens, GA, in the early 80s. REM lived in Athens, but this concert happened before either band had a hit.
This song is one of those that pretty much needs the video to go with it. It was an MTV hit more than a radio one. Even now, when I was listening with you guys I was replaying the video in my head.
What you need to listen to is What You Need, off the previous album, which is like this song, but a little better.
I’m an old broad now, but back in the eighties dancing to this song, he was so hot!🤓
Interesting. I’m solidly Gen X (class of ‘88), and this is one of the few top 40 80s songs I will listen to and enjoy if it comes on. I feel like INXS has held up really well, compared to most other 80s top 40 offerings.
Another awesome song is “Beautiful Girl”.
Don't Change is their best song.
This Time and Don't Change are my two INXS favorites.
This Time
THIS ALBUM was SOLID. KICK was played my ENTIRE high Junior and Senior years.
memories
One of the best frontmen ever.
Long Version Need You Tonight - Meditate ! EVEN BETTER
Good god does this bring me back to late 80s. It was on the radio 24/7.
The video is iconic ! ❤
Must remember that this was from the "album" era, meaning the song definitely hits harder as part of the album listening experience as opposed to hearing it on its own... especially this song. Keep listening to INXS!
when inxs first emerged they where EVERYWHERE and HUGE... such cool vibes...
Mediate finishes this. Guys you happen to be missing the boat on Original Sin. One thing and Bitter Tears right there. They have a HUGE catalog.
If a song is dated, does that really matter?
I listen to this song all the time. Also, I’ve never danced to this song in my life & I’m 35.
You guys have to see them live or at least the video to see the missing element from this listen which is Michael’s insane level of frontman ship. He was electric.
"Original Sin" is a must listen.
Love your channel.
You both need to start doing the video versions of some of these songs to feel the full experience. This song is a prime example -- Michael's sexy charisma is definitely evident in his voice, but incomplete without watching him.
When INXS played live on The Tube (an old music TV show) in the UK, many people rang to complain that they were miming - something that was forbidden on the show. The presenter had to make an announcement next week to re-assure people that they were playing live - he said 'they're just that good!'
Great reaction, yes, S tier at the time, completely different and took the world by storm. Try "Devil Inside" next!
Always loved this song. Was already too old to be dancing to it, but that guitar riff is just so freaking catchy. Also, Alex, the Blurred Lines comparison was spot on.
For most Americans not listening to college radio at the time, this was their first introduction to INXS. And it just blew up. Definitely not the first song I'd reach for in their catalog. But if you want to make a good first impression.............
😈😈Devil Inside 😈😈
Gotta watch the video to really get this song... pure charisma
Original Sin was what got me hooked to INXS!!! You need to do Devil Inside it’s a movie soundtrack classic
Big big dance floor hit! 🎉 80s 80s 80s
You need to go LIVE with these guys.
Devil Inside has such a simple but perfect riff, should definitely be on your radar
ONE OF THE BEST LIVE CONCERT VIDEOS OF ALL TIME>>>INXS at Wembley Stadium. Blows it out of the park.
You guys won't 'get' Michael, you're the wrong sex! 😀
I'm currently watching the concert dvd from saturday 13th July 1991 at Wembley stadium in London where they played & slayed a crowd of 72,000 fans! ♥️
Sooooo true. Michael was 🔥🔥🔥
Don't Change next....pretty pretty please!
Yess 🙏🙏
This album was basically new wave's farewell as the music scene transitioned back to more conventional guitar rock, glam metal, alternative rock, and eventually, shortly thereafter, grunge. Quintessentially 80s and yet transcending the 80s all at once.
This was my go to Karaoke song. 😂
I still have that cassette and many great songs on it 😊
I cant tell you in words how big inxs was in 1985
The record label tried to KILL this album and were willing to pay 1 million to bury it and make a new album in place of this one. The band self-funded the rollout of it and it eventually was multi-platinum. The lack of vision at the label was stunning and fortunately the band manager knew what they had and made the gutsy call to plow on otherwise none of us would have heard any of these songs.
What You Need, Don’t Change and The One Thing probably their coolest songs.
“New sensation” was on radio 24/7 when this great album came out , the stand out song for me
The One Thing and Good Times (singing with Jimmy Barns) is two of my favorite INXS songs… can’t go wrong with INXS! 😊
Good times is legendary....
I saw it live at the Australian made concert tour @ subi oval.... inxs headlining with barnesy 2nd billed.... brilliant
@@paulrodsted3905 omgosh… I would have loved to see that show! Good Times is such a kick *ss song..
I've always thought, everyone in the band were high level musicians. Their arrangements were always so good.
God, I love this album.
I was doing the occasional DJ fill in at a local club when this album came out, and oh yes, we played this album a lot!!
They put a lot of thought into the order of the songs on this album, and many of the songs are meant to lead right into the next song. So part of the reason this song ends the way it does is because it leads into the song Mediate.
Listen Like Thieves is an album you MUST hear. From start to finish it is consistently their best.
